A Visual Approximation of Bubba Watson’s Brilliant Shot in Masters Playoff
Bubba Watson’s ridiculous shot on hole two of the Masters playoff will be played incessantly over the next few days, and deservedly so. And each year around this time, golf analysts and fanatics alike will discuss the shot with great vigor and enthusiasm thanks to Watson’s wonderful recovery after sending his drive into the woods.
Even for those of us who don’t watch or play golf on a regular basis, it’s impossible not to appreciate the shot, especially under such weighty circumstances. For an even deeper appreciation of said shot, take a gander at this visual approximation, which was offered up by this guy after someone on Twitter just couldn’t understand why he stated it was one of the most ridiculous shots he’d ever seen.
It basically took the path of a signature Kareem Abdul-Jabbar sky hook. Unbelievable. What a finish.
Note: Since the video of Bubba’s miraculous shot has already been scrubbed from YouTube by the PGA — it worked less than five minutes ago — we swiftly turn to mockery, so here’s the botched Bubba Watson/Billy Payne handshake.
Awwwwwkward:

He made Figjam’s flop on Saturday look like a joke.

Great shot, but that image isn’t even close.

That handshake and the failed high five after the double eagle on 2 by Louie and his caddie were classic.

He had 155 yards, 30-40 of hook, supposedly. That would put him about 150 yards back from the pin, if my math is right. That clown has him at about 85 yards, so the distance should be almost twice that.

Can he close for the Red Sox? Please?

It’ll be okay. Let’s remember they faced a good lineup, and 2/3 starters pitched crappy. The problem is that Morales is the only lefty they trust, so he is almost ineligible to close, despite him being the most reliable. If they HAD to make a change, Padilla/Aceves to start and Bard to close would make the most sense, as it did SIX MONTHS AGO.
I don’t think the ledge-jumping is necessary yet, but seriously, what a shitty way to bring the momentum and enthusiasm for a new season to a screeching halt.

What I’m saying is that even if Aceves stays closing, there’s at least a 50-50 chance he won’t finish with an infinity ERA.
