Stan Van Gundy Acknowledged Dwight Howard Wanted Him Fired, Then … [UPDATE: With Video!]
… Dwight Howard walked in the room, hugged Stan Van Gundy, and denied to the media that he ever told the Magic he wanted Stan Van Gundy fired.
Awkward.
Then, Howard asked the media who their source was. Umm … your coach?
Yikes.
The Magic host the Knicks tonight in Orlando. The game is on TNT.
So when is Orlando going to fire Van Gundy? This week? After the first round playoff loss?
Gotta figure D12 is regretting his decision to stay in Orlando one more year. Does he really thinking picking a coach for one season is going to make a difference? Does he really think Orlando can swing a couple of trades and make them contenders?
Disaster.
[UPDATE: NBA.com has video. SVG drops two bullshits and then Howard enters the press conference at 2:45]

Maybe he just likes living in Orlando?
April 5th, 2012 at 12:37 PM
That’s why he’s been trying to get out for a year, until Twitter convinced him to stay.
I thought this was a good post… dramatic, but not overly/ridiculously so.

Quiet here today. Everyone streaming the Masters?

I think he’s had people in his ear convincing him to leave for a year (agents, shoe companies, hangers-on), and he finally took a stand.
He’s still an immature idiot.

I think you meant Floriduh

He sure does.

D-Ho has a narcissistic need to be loved but he wants things his way. Unfortunately, there’s no way he’s going to get that now.
Better bail.

Was there ever an AL East preview done? The game’s about to start.

Totally thought that said “fisted” instead of “fired.” I blame Balotelli’s ugly prostitute.

Yea seriously. I need to make fun of the red sox.

Yea seriously. I need to make fun of the red sox.
Big fucking stink from both Red Sox and Yankees fans about Bobby V doing a weekly radio spot on a local melon headed moron’s show. Someone compared it to Jordan doing a weekly spot on a Duke radio show.
Not a day goes by without stupid people amusing me to no end.

I still don’t understand why he felt like he needed to sign up for next year when he could’ve stayed non committal. he clearly overreacted to a couple of good wins, a meaningless stretch that all but the Bobcats enjoy at least once a season.

April 5th, 2012 at 1:39 PM
Yet people are still booing LeBron.
April 5th, 2012 at 2:13 PM
Unreal. The way Dwight has handled this is 1000 times worse than anything LeBron did, The Decision included. What a fucking clown. Have fun building your “brand”, whatever the fuck that means, goofing off, not touching the ball in crunch time, and being an overall clown who retires with all the talent in the world but no rings.
April 5th, 2012 at 4:36 PM
Holy shit, I can’t believe the NBA has this clip up there. Howard is basically tying his own noose as he’s giving the press conference. He’s lucky he’s a top 5 player in the league.
April 5th, 2012 at 6:26 PM
He wins one title and this is all forgotten.
April 6th, 2012 at 1:08 PM
Dwight Howard is a complete….AND I MEAN COMPLETE FOOL! and a terrible liar to boot. Why even insert yourself into that interview….jeesh what a mess. And Van Gundy is ready to get outta there it seems. he wants to go home and play xbox
