High School Recruit Nerlens Noel is Having Men Offer Him Their Wives
Nerlens Noel is perhaps the best basketball player in the class of 2013, and you probably read about the seedy tug-of-war over his services in March. Noel, who has narrowed his list to Kentucky (no surprise), Georgetown (he’s been compared to Patrick Ewing) and Syracuse (he’s best friends with Orange freshman Michael Carter-Williams), was in New Orleans for the Final Four and this happened:
One man asked me if I wanted to take his wife home with me, ha ha. I couldn’t believe it. I was like, “Nah, I’m good,” but that’s just how insane the fans were down there. Great atmosphere.
As a shot-blocker, Noel is second-to-none. Based on viewing numerous highlight reels online, he seems to be a poor man’s Anthony Davis.
As a blogger? Come on, Nerlens, you can’t skimp on the details.
But actually, the way high school sports have evolved on ESPN, I’d say there’s a 75 percent chance there’s video of this. [Nerlens Noel Blog via Mark Ennis]

That just reminded me what a shitty thing New England did to him.

More absurd: Nerlens Noel’s hair style or his name?

Nerlens may be the worst name in the history of Western civilization.

College recruitment truly brings out the best in everybody; that Times article is despicable.

Sounds like a risky investment by this guy. I mean, you have to wait at least 19 years before it pays off.

I was the first guy to really bring it back a few years ago in the McDonald’s AA game. Tiquan, you’re late to the party too.

Seriously man what’s with using the Rivals rankings from last summer? He’s not the class of 2013, he’s class of 2012. He switched months ago.

This.

He looks like he can’t decide which hairsyle likes better — Kid or Play.

I don’t know where you get the “poor man” part from highlight reels

I watched a couple of his games. He was better offensively than I was expecting, but will definitely be a huge defensive presence from the get-go.

So he’s second to Anthony Davis, then…

But actually, the way high school sports have evolved on ESPN,
When your corporate goal or business plan is to sell as much gatorade and subways as you can, you have to get the 12-18 year old to watch. Therefore, more and more high school sports.
why do you think they created ESPNU?

Like everything else with ESPN, I assume to force-feed viewers NCAA Women’s basketball no one cares about.
