Braves Reliever Cristhian Martinez Becomes Latest Pitcher Arrested for DUI
Drinking enough to break the legal limit and then drive is all the rage among Major League Baseball players this spring. Braves reliever Cristhian Martinez is the latest to join in on the action after being arrested early this morning in Gwinnett County on charges of DUI. His blood alcohol registered .10, just narrowly eclipsing the legal limit in Georgia of .08. Martinez has also been charged with “improper lane change” and “impeding the flow of traffic.” He was booked at 4:24 am, which seems to be the popular hour for pitchers to do stupid shit.

MLB really needs to address this problem. Seems to be more drunken driving by baseball players than any other sport.

Serious question. Does MLB even suspend players for DUI’s or is that left up to the team? And if it’s left up to the team do suspensions vary depending on level of need of said player? I think there needs to be something uniform not only in baseball, but in all sports.

Heard him on the DP show not too long ago when he was promoting his book. Seemed like he had his act together. Tough to hear this type of thing has happened again.

Amen to that. What a shame. He may be one of those personalities that never really heals from his demons.
