Lacrosse is huge in the northeast. The HS I went to (Ward Melville) has/had one of the best lacrosse programs in the country. It’s also the HS that gave the world Mick Foley…and Kevin James…

Shatner, you’re from Setauket? Random. Two of the first people I ever met at college were from Setauket.
And you’re definitely right about lacrosse in the northeast. I grew up in CT, and we had 2 of the top 10 programs in the country in our backyard (Wilton and Darien). Every year those schools had kids getting full rides to Hopkins, Syracuse, Carolina, etc.

grew up in central NY playin lax, I was middle class like most kids in the area. I was always pissed about lax being portrayed by only rich white douches until i moved to maryland where I saw as a ref that most kids were white upper class douches. Its still a great sport that I’ll defend to the death.
p.s. That was a penalty, but not a cheap shot.
p.p.s. I’m glad I took up rugby, a sport that can never be knocked.
