Wait…the format hasn’t been fixed? Y’all WANT this to be the format?
March 26th, 2012 at 2:14 PM
Terrific formatting. Nothing better than 1 square inch photos.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:15 PM
The Pitbull and Sizzler captions are funny. You gotta be able to format this though, yeah? Probably helps people on a mobile browser but making me click to see the picture…
March 26th, 2012 at 2:18 PM
Criticizing the formatting? That’s a bannin’.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:18 PM
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
So thats where you got the “Boom!” from last week
March 26th, 2012 at 2:18 PM
Pitbull and Applebee’s are what make the tourney so great.

Is it me or is 1/2 the internet asking for props today because they know what a triangle-2 defense is?
March 26th, 2012 at 2:22 PM
Any pictures of Scoop Jardine and Dion Waiters dominating Aaron Craft?

You are going to have to click on the 1 square inch photos to see what the actually are.

Pitbull
for humor purposes only, i would like to hear an explanation from someone who likes this talentless piece of human waste.

I went to a high school basketball game this year to see a Pittsburgh prospect going to Drake, kid scored 2,000 points and was straight out of hoosiers. The opposing team ran a triangle and 2 with the 2 people guarding him. I’d never seen that before.

March 26th, 2012 at 2:23 PM
Sweet thumbnails.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:25 PM
Where are the 9 youtube videos that are supposed to be in this post?
March 26th, 2012 at 2:25 PM
Vanilla Ice thinks Pitbull’s a no-talent poser.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:26 PM
The Triangle-and-two? I’m drawing a blank! What do I do?
After watching the game yesterday and watching/listening to Roy Williams’ press conferences, I’m convinced he has Alzheimer’s or some other form of dementia. The guy just ain’t right.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:26 PM
Only time I’ve seen it was against Diebler in HS. One guy would pressure him full court and then another would run at him once he crossed half court. It didn’t matter, he would still pull up from 30′ and drill it.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:26 PM
You tell Intern Mike to get his ass back in the closet and don’t come out until this formatting bullshit is fixed.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:27 PM
Great post with the thumbnails totally not a piece of shit.
/How does one go about sounding sincere? Seems unpossible.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:28 PM
I’ve seen it a couple times in high school, by my own team. Once against Marvin Williams and another time against Rodney Stuckey. It did not work.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:28 PM
had to stop reading after this. beyond horrible.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:29 PM
I’ve only seen the triangle and 2 in grade school basketball. And its easy as fuck to beat especially if you have a decent big man.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:29 PM
Maybe these are just screen grabs from his TV.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:30 PM
You call a million ticky tack fouls in the game and miss that one?
or
“Bernie, what the fuck are you doing with those boys?”
March 26th, 2012 at 2:31 PM

Agreed. However, Roy Williams has to notice it is a Tri-2. I still can’t believe the players couldn’t figure it out on the floor. Also, Roy has never been one to be known for adjustments.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:33 PM
Was just thinking about Diebler today. I still think if he had gone to a smaller school, he could have had a Jimmer-like career and gotten selected in the 1st round.
As it is, he was taken in the 2nd round and is over in Europe playing.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:33 PM
I hate him, that pitbull. Walks around in his commercial thinking he’s a badass drinking that bud light piss.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:35 PM
my favorite thing about the complaining about the triangle and two, is that the solution that JMac is proposing is to throw it where the triangle is.
Not to put guys in the corners and widen the triangle, just pitch it to the big man standing near the three defenders. Not to pick and roll the two guys being single covered, and force a switch, but to throw it into the middle where the defense is ready to collapse, by design.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
Pretty sure him and Lighty didn’t get drafted at all.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
I was down in Columbus this weekend for the state bball tournament. Talking with some other coaches about his ’07 Final against Norris Cole’s Dayton-Dunbar team. He scored 48…it was crazy.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
As a UNC fan, here is my thought on it:
1. Some of the bigs didn’t recognize it or knew how to efficiently create their own space.
2. Stilman and Justin didn’t have the skillset to adjust, nor did they really know how to adjust. Kendall Marshall would at least have noticed it and tried something different.
3. Roy gets a knock for “not adjusting”, yet history shows that this is far from the truth. A more accurate statement would read something like “Roy is very unfortunate in that some of his notable loses were when his players didnt adjust to what he was telling them and/or he didn’t realize it”. A prime example of this was him telling his team at halftime of the Ohio game that they needed to feed the bigs, and yet, they still didn’t do it and it almost sent them home.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:38 PM
too much journalism.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:39 PM
i didn’t watch all of this game, but Stilman White was NOT one of the guys being triangled, right?

Bubbaprog is somewhere laughing uncontrollably
March 26th, 2012 at 2:41 PM
Yep. I was at that game. He also had 10 boards, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 7 steals. Greg Oden’s brother was on the team that beat him.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:42 PM
Bubbaprog is somewhere laughing uncontrollably
more likely he is tweeting something unfathomably stupid, instead of making cartoons out of sports plays.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:42 PM
Has anyone ever done an in-depth interview with Anthony Davis about why he actively chooses to rock a unibrow? I like to hear the logic behind that.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:42 PM
It’s what sportswriters do.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:43 PM

i wonder if his knees work.

Ah, memories. This goes back to his KU days.
You are a fan of UNC. This weekend was the first I’ve really listened to him all year. Is he losing it? Maybe I’m just not used to his Aw Shucks demeanor anymore. He just sounded out of it.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:44 PM
Never going to stop calling him Stillborn.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:44 PM
Him and Aaron Pogue (Cleveland St) were 2 grown-men type bigs.

he wont’ have it next year, because somebody will introduce him to a stylist. He’ll probably lose it pre-draft.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:46 PM
How many people are rooting for Kentucky to win it all in hopes of seeing “2012 NCAA Men’s Championship – Vacated” in the record books a year from now? I know I am.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:47 PM
I haven’t seen that many people yell at someone to “shoot” since Sergei Zubov played for the Penguins
March 26th, 2012 at 2:47 PM
Still can’t do it, cause Calipari will still claim it and Vitale will still defend him.

far and away the ugliest college bball player ever.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:48 PM
I want them to win because they’re the best basketball team and would make up for a tournament full of cold diarrhea in a dixie cup of talent.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:52 PM
Is cold diarrhea better or worse than warm diarrhea?
March 26th, 2012 at 2:52 PM

you know Popeye Jones played college ball, right? And Sam Casell. And Patrick Ewing.

I’ll just put Dirt down as thinking black people are ugly. It will save time.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:57 PM
Yea, but I’m absolutely loving this final 4, though. Every team here is deserving. I’ve never seen officiating water down a tournament like this either.
March 26th, 2012 at 2:58 PM
All of this. It would be nice for the most talented team to win the tournament.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
Whether it be KU or OSU meeting UK in the final, I think we’re in for one hell of a matchup. Kentucky is just too damn good, though. But, Bill Self has taken down a more talented Calipari team on occasion, so who the fuck knows.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:02 PM
Bad FT shooting and Chalmers aside, I should add.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:03 PM
I’m pulling for Kentucky so we can continue this run of ruining TBL’s narrative:
-Izzo is a bum because he never does well in the B1G tourney
-Boeheim can’t get past the Sweet 16
-Self always chokes and loses to bad teams
-Wisconsin is overrated and wouldn’t do anything in the tourney
-B1G is overrated and would do nothing in thr tourney
…Cal is the only one left.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:04 PM
So do we just vacate years in which Cal wins the National Championship or did we forget that Kentucky was actually in the Final Four last year as well. As a Kentucky fan, I’m glad to have him as our coach. I’ll be the first to tell you that I don’t think he’s 100% clean, but in this day and age of college athletics, who is? Your excuse can’t be we don’t like him because he cheats better than we do.

Disappointing Friday night, Sportsgal?
March 26th, 2012 at 3:12 PM
heh. I chuckled.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:12 PM
He doesn’t want to leave a guy with no timeouts before a final inbound play, especially I suppose with the pressure the Cuse had been putting on them earlier in the half…I didn’t think it was a big deal since regardless of what they drew up it was going to end up looking like that
March 26th, 2012 at 3:13 PM
Well Done, Resident of Kansas City.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:15 PM
Didn’t Delonte West play college ball? If so, gotta be in the discussion.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:16 PM
Say what now? This is easily Calipari’s most talented team.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:19 PM
I meant Calipari’s Memphis team was more talented than Self’s Kansas team. I worded that kinda shitty.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:20 PM
Shaka Smart was in studio that night and did a great job discussing the final play, talking about the success he had with that “Horns” set earlier in the game and that he also would not havhe called timeout.
March 26th, 2012 at 3:22 PM
Anthony Oden?
March 26th, 2012 at 3:23 PM
Yes
March 26th, 2012 at 3:26 PM
that’s what I thought. He came to Arkansas to play football and got kicked off last year after his 2nd or 3rd arrest since he had been here. was he not recruited that heavily in hoops, or was he just that much better at football?
March 26th, 2012 at 3:33 PM
I think he could have played low-level D1, but he had more of a football body than basketball. If I remember right, he basically could have chosen where to play football at.
