After 924 Days, Tiger Woods Won a Tournament
All, Golf, Tiger Woods March 25th. 2012, 6:38pm
You can all exhale. Tiger Woods has won a PGA tournament. Tiger’s 5-stroke win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational was his first PGA win since 2009. For one weekend at least, Tiger is back. Tiger held off Graeme McDowell and ran away from the field in old school Tiger Woods fashion. You can officially get excited for The Masters.

Good, because I am. Now just get Els there.

Augusta “has” to send him an invite if he doesn’t qualify, right?

Tiger is the man. He just hadn’t played enough after waxing all that ass. Now he is back and ready to dominate.
Also, I think that Ernie, assuming he doesn’t win next week, has earned an invite based on his career body of work. But I don’t run Augusta National.

I would have enjoyed the masters if Tiger had finished DFL today.

on a day when the majority of the field went backwards, that 2-under, 70, was as impressive as ever.

definitely more like the Tiger of 4-5 years ago. Get the lead and then wear them down with pars. Only guy in last 8 pairings to finish under for the day if I heard right.
Yeah, I think he’s rounding into form

oh hell naw. make those 3 footers next time, big ern…sucks to say, but those missed shorties are prolly the difference in rankings points.

im watching the dvr and have only seen the front 9, but he’s looked very solid so far.

Just got home from Austin. Now it’s time to fire up the DVR and watch this mess.

Some guy named Tiger Woods.

Speaking of golf, I’m in dire need of new shoes and have no desire to spend more than $100. Any thoughts on the Nike Zoom or Air Rate, or am I better off staying with another pair of standard FootJoy?

Any correlation between: the new Haney book coming out, with excerpts that somewhat try to bash Tiger; and him finally winning a tournament? I might be grasping.

Spencer, I really meant that from a higher level than just my personal opinion (I think TBL said that font would be available with the mobile site). I don’t think he should be there with his stupid putter. He missed two putts inside of 3 feet; holing those means a solo 3rd finish, which according to ESPN’s recap article would not have gotten him in (needed T-2).
I’m rooting for Bubba in 2 weeks. I can’t love his shotmaking and the fact that his mental ability on the course is about as good as mine

kazzy…maybe yea, but tiger has been improving week by week. takes awhile for swing changes to set in, but all that criticism from before about him and foley seems to be a bit premature in hindsight.
beerman…got ya. but im talking about the past two years…all those cumulative missed putts and lower finishes add up. if he putted as well as he’s been striking the ball all along, he’d be highly ranked enough to qualify, easily.
im rooting for a bunch of guys at the masters, but think it’s rory’s to lose. he’s on such an unbelievable roll right now and augusta sets up for this draw perfectly on a few par 5′s. augusta’s the type of course rory could run away with if he’s in top form…and he sure looks to be.

Tiger FTW!!! When he’s in his 80′s, and reflecting back on his GOAT career with 22 Majors, Eldrick will realize that his biggest mistake in life was to rush into marriage with a nondescript nanny.

there is a reason Els is not in the top 50. It’s a good measuring stick. Sure he has played well the last month. But the previous 23 have not been effective.
Alas, I also don’t see him making the cut there if he is invited.
