My money’s on Zeller staying until he graduates. No financial need to leave early and from everything I’ve read he seems to be the type of kid that absolutely loves the “college experience.” Also, I think he’d be best served to spend 3 years letting the ‘man muscles’ develop and tacking some weight on the frame.

Harrison Barnes isn’t even close to being the best player on his team; he wouldn’t even have been the best player on OU last night. Not understanding all the cock-gobbling that is centered around him.

It’s not about the money with the Zellers. Their family has money. It’s a much different situation from some of the kids that come from inner city schools that need the cash to get their parents out of poverty. He will stay at least another year, and possibly two.

Right now Sullinger doesn’t look like he can play in the league. He’s fat and can’t jump. I don’t follow NBA drafts as religiously as some, but why would anyone waste a Top 10 pick in this year’s draft on someone who at best will become another Big Baby?

If you go to nbadraft.net they compare him to Kevin Love, I don’t agree with it, but it’s there.

I think he would have been a Top 5 pick last year in a weak draft; this season, the draft is loaded and I’m starting to wonder if he is a Top 10 pick.

I think he goes back to school. This draft is loaded with talent as is. Go try and win a title and then be a top 10 pick, if his family financial situation is such that he doesn’t need to jump right away that is.

I agree with what I think the sentiment is of this blog post (though its hard to tell) – that “staying in college will improve your stock.” Anyone who’s watched the NCAA tournament knows that college basketball, from an offensive standpoint, is outright dreadful. Stat floating around Twitter said that only 2 teams won games in the 2002 NCAA tourney by scoring less than 66 points; this year 23 teams did. Why bother sticking around another year playing a game designed to undercut the offensive player?

While Barnes has been horrible, if his skills are there I’d still take a chance on him, mainly for the reasons above. College ball limits offensive players so significantly that I think it’s hard to blame them sometimes, especially the big men.

Degrees have never been worth less. Your demographic are most likely to get jobs in the military, walmart, target or best buy. There is rampant unemployment for people your age. Take the money, it is more money than the majority of your peers with degrees make in there lifetime. Anyone who tells you different should be shot.
