LeBron Tweets Picture of Miami Heat Expressing Solidarity With Slain Teen Trayvon Martin
LeBron James tweeted this photo of the entire Miami Heat team in hoodies, in protest of police in Florida not arresting George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old “neighborhood crime watch captain” who shot and killed an unarmed, black 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in an Orlando suburb. Zimmerman admits killing the teenager, but claims it was in self-defense.
For once, LeBron struck the right chord, unlike Geraldo. Interested to hear his thoughts on women wearing short skirts.

My question is why does everyone have it out for the police chief? Is he not following legal procedure? Isn’t it the prosecuting attorney’s responsibility to determine if a suspect should be held in jail? Is this a case where a grand jury is required? I hate to say I agree with anything on Foxnews but Geraldo I don’t think was advocating shooting dark skinned people in hoodies and patting them down later for weapons.
I am black 6’4 220lb and jacked up(humble brag and all that) although I’m actually a pretty harmless nerd who spends Friday nites in Zumba class. However strangers react very strongly to me based on my misleading appearance. Sometimes its seems unfair but very understandable. When I walk into a convenience store after 10pm, i always take my hoodie down and show my hands.
I certainly want to make sure everyone is clear about the robbery that is not about to take place from a selfish self preservation stand point. If that means the racists win then so be it.
We could argue all day long whether that should be the case or not but our human stereotyping impulse is very difficult to turn off especially with impulsive decisions.

The hoodie discussion isn’t, or shouldn’t be, rooted in ideology. The problem with trying to have race discussions right now is that it’s coming off of a racially-charged tragedy where people’s opinions and emotions are clouded by it. I guarantee if the hoodie discussion had taken place in, say, November, the tenor would be much more positive and fewer cheap shots would be taken in accusing so and so of racism.

you can’t seperate the two. Your opinion is Black kids should make racists feel more comfortable by not wearing hoodies around them. When in reality racists feel more comfortable when Blacks aren’t around whether he is wearing a hoodie or a cardigan.
