Bobby Jenks Got a DUI at 3:43 AM and Was Charged with Hit-and-Run, Too
All, Baseball, Booze, Courts, Legal, Heavy Drinking March 23rd. 2012, 11:16am
Today is turning out to be quite the movement for fat, frequently embattled relief pitchers. Joba’s down for the count and now we’ve gotten word that Red Sox reliever Bobby Jenks was arrested in Ft. Myers at 3:43 AM this morning. He’s being charged with DUI, property damage and leaving the scene of an accident. As Jimmy V once poignantly said, that’s a full day.
The mugshot is delightful. Poor guy looks like a lost puppy who just wants a Snausage or two.

Could have sworn he said he gave up drinking a few years ago. $6M for this guy this year. Boston has to be happy it’s his last season there.

Baseball needs to address this issue. Mandatory, what, 50 or 100 game suspensions for first offenders, and then up from there?
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:21 AM
poor fat bastard just wanted some 4th meal.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:22 AM
He wasn’t leaving KFC perchance, was he?
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:22 AM
Agreed…drinking and driving is much much worse of an issue than steroids in baseball.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:23 AM
he looks way different with his hat off.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:24 AM
Do you really wanna love me forever?
OH OH OH

How many of those Boston Red Sox were driving home last year after drinking their beer in the clubhouse? Scary thought.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:24 AM
I’m not sure the collective IQs of Bobby Jenks and Joba Chamberlain would break 100.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:25 AM
wonder if he still calls his agent “DJ” which stands for “dirty jew.”
what a piece of human shit.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:25 AM
Mandatory thumb trick training for first time offenders.
/How’s his phone etiquette?

OT…i want to play golf right now.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:38 AM
Classy guy. Sad to see this hapen to such a nice guy, especially considering how gracious he was to his former team upon his departure.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:39 AM
OT- I just read an article in texas monthly on the rise of outlaw country in texas in the early 70′s. godamn, i wish i was a teenager then.

This crap would never happen if there wuz booze in the locker room. Stupid Red Sockz playerz.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:42 AM
As do I…of course it cools down after today. Finally got around to trying out my R11 twice this week. So nice to swing.

getting new sticks (new to you, that is) is the best.
i just got my adams speedline fast 10 3w with an aldila NVvoodoo x-stiff and a cleveland tour mashie (less offset, flat sole than the regular one) with a miyazaki 83 x-stiff and my new nike wedges (PHENOMENAL)…love em all so fucking much i just wanna go to the range and hit balls all day.
wish my old 3w didn’t break…wanted a new driver bad.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:47 AM
I don’t think he future is that bright, though.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:47 AM
We’re getting out on Sunday. Should be decent weather – slight chance or rain, high in the 60s. Just playing a crappy local muni since none of us have played much at all this year.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:50 AM
Hit my new Superfast 2.0 a couple weeks ago for the first time. Just got the standard shaft/setup as part of a huge price cut (only paid $139). The regular flex shaft definitely feels whippy when I’m swinging, but the ball was coming off dead straight with a nice high carry (which I normally don’t have – low ball hitter).
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:50 AM
I’m playing a course that is roughly 200 yards longer than my home course tomorrow. I’m fucked.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:52 AM
Rain all day on Sunday, at least I got to the range twice this week. Was hitting my driver, 7i and 4i pretty well. Still need a lot of work on my new 60* wedge.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:55 AM
2005′s never felt so long ago
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:56 AM
I played 36 on Wednesday and put my new RBZ 3 wood to test all day. That fucking thing goes forever. It damn near plays like my r9. I love it.
March 23rd, 2012 at 11:57 AM
as long as the ball’s not ballooning on you, youre money.
plus, there’s no industry standard for shaft flex. one company’s R might be another’s stiff. and it varies even more in the “made for” shafts where some that were labeled x-stiff were measured out at a ladies’ flex (i think it was an older cleveland driver in this test).
the fuji rombax shaft in my 3w that broke was a “stiff” but when i cut tip and butt trimmed it and put it in my 3w, the CPM’s (measure of oscillations to standardize shaft flex) was a decent bit stiffer than my clubguy’s aldila voodoo7 x-stiff. kinda interesting.

pretty sure TM’s website is pay only. all i have is the hard copy. It goes over willie and waylon’s giving nashville the finger and gathering their hippie friends and going to texas to make their own brand of music. alot of pics of the first picnics, other groups that made it. just awesome.

just played my first round with my rbz driver. the ball stays in the air forever. hit a few 320s with it.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:01 PM
we gotta get out soon bro…this weather, it’s amazing.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:04 PM
Fo real, brah. We gonna get some crap weather this weekend. But i think we are already in golf season for good.

Which player is the John Daly of MLB? Miggy?
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:08 PM
I can attest to this. I played with my boss and he just got a RBZ driver. Guy has no idea where the thing is going but when he seeds one the ball is in the air forever and just carries and carries.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:09 PM
Which player is the John Daly of MLB? Miggy?
gotta be a smoker, not just fat and drunk

john rocker was definitely daly when he was in the league.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:12 PM
agreed on the last part, but im staying optimistic for this weekend. it’d be cruel to rain on the weekend after this clear week.
i may hate the way they advertise and release products, but damn if taylormade can’t make one helluva golf club.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:12 PM
rocker was not fat or drunk, and did he smoke? he was the ultimate rockhead
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:14 PM
All he did was ride the #7 train.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:23 PM
dammit, I would really like to read that article.
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:37 PM
Quite the juxtaposition there, eh?
March 23rd, 2012 at 12:42 PM
I was just reading some quotes from Jenks at the scene last night where apparantly he was telling paramedics he took too many muscle relaxers and was shaking. Now I feel kinda bad as he did almost die in the offseason because of his back surgery.
March 23rd, 2012 at 1:44 PM
Jenks looks more normal in his mug shot than he ever did in a baseball uniform.

he’s had issues ever since the minors, then beat them long enough to excel for a few years
