Can someone explain what started the rant in the evolution vid?
March 22nd, 2012 at 8:14 AM
Don’t see too many other girls from Louisville that look like that.
March 22nd, 2012 at 8:15 AM
Is it common for a newspaper to publish the exact address of a guys house, complete with pics? Kirk Herstreet thinks thats not cool.
Nice part of town, went to The Memorial a couple of times, Muirfield is sweet.

After Goodell taking away our 2012 season based on the testimony of Jeremy Freaking Shockey, TebowMania going to New York City, and a tornado hitting my neighborhood yesterday, I’ve decided I’ve had it for a while. Sports are just not fun anymore right now. I’m taking an extended hiatus from TBL right now. I need some peace in my life right now, and sports are not providing it like it used to.
I wish all you the best, even those of you who hate what I say. I’m sure I won’t be missed that much, but I might check in from time to time.

March 22nd, 2012 at 8:27 AM

I give the kid in the yellow shirt credit for not standing up and dropping her after she pushed him twice.

I hope this guy gets the book thrown at him. Florida is one fucked up place. And yes, I do paint with broad strokes.

The things I would do to Jennifer Lawrence are unspeakable even by Internet standards.

Those water pictures are amazing. Of all the long-term global problems we worry about, nothing scares me more than the fact that we have nowhere near enough water to support the current population growth rate. The conflicts that will occur as a result are terrifying.
Also, China is disgusting.

“There are over 3,000 engineers in Kabul, and they do not ski with beautiful women everyday. Obviously my job is better than theirs.”

Is there any kind of outrage as to how Derek has continued to convince teams to release/trade/buy him out so that he can in essence pick his own team? It’s like he’s a Free Agent at all times of the season.

I don’t even need to bother checking the weather I know exactly what the weather will be in advance no matter what part of the country. I’m especially sensitive to earthquakes and other geological oddities. In fact I sensed the earthquake in Northridge when I was living out there during my graduate school days back at UCLA and cleared out a whole dorm full of kids probably saving their lives.
But we can save that story for another day.

Haha what?! I stopped reading after the heroics in the dorm in California — I should find her and tell her to join TBL, that would hit a new demographic.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:07 AM
i just hate the buzzword being used in a song like that. just empowers the people at work who actually do logistics to inflate their ego.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:09 AM
Same here. So when I have bad allergy attacks I can’t wait for night time so I can get relief.

March 22nd, 2012 at 9:10 AM
There is a lot more elevation and mountains in general in Afghanistan than people think. Afghanistan is top-10 in the world in average elevation and has a high point of almost 25,000′. Plenty of snow.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:11 AM
Agreed. I understand the market angle that UPS is going for, and the business angle is true, they are making a lot of headway as a logistic provider, and not just a glorified post office.
It does come off as douchey, though.

I’ve said for at least 2 seasons the Saints are the dirtiest team in the league. Brees should resign his role with the NFLPA – he was hypocritical during the lock out and continues to show his ass.
Yep – got a couple of large tomato plants already in the ground. Looking forward to a fresh tomato sammich by May 1.

80° in Toronto all through the week and almost no snow all winter. I’ll take it.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:17 AM
Incredible.
Speaking of environmental issues …. anyone out there ever buy a gas clothes dryer? What an effin’ disaster. Try to do the right thing and nothing but aggravation.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:18 AM
Apparently, we’re going to pay for this incredible weather.
i’m going to pay actual dollars. My poor Honda whumped into a mud-season created sinkhole, and I think I smashed my catalytic converter.
But it’s been near 80 for 5 days, in March. Seems worth it. Plus, we already paid for this weather, in advance.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:19 AM
80° in Toronto all through the week and almost no snow all winter. I’ll take it.
But the, of course, you actually have to live in Toronto.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Totally off topic but I have to ask. When you have cereal does the cereal go in the bowl first or the milk? I’m a cereal first guy but just recently found out some people are milk first.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:21 AM
I seem to remember the past two winters we had record snowfall, yeah I’ll take a warm winter after those ridiculous amounts of snow.

Now does he sell the 8 houses he bought in [insert college football town names] or is he screwed by the economy?
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:22 AM
milk first is totally inefficient and should not be added before the cereal. those people should be rounded up and put into camps.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:22 AM
Cereal first. It’s all about the cereal. The milk is a supporting actor in that play.
Although, when making a cup of coffee, I recently began pouring milk into the mug first and then coffee (rather than vice versa).
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:22 AM
As opposed to say that shithole you call Edmonton? I moved from Calgary to TO this past Sept and only moved to Canada from Phoenix in ’07 so I had no bias, but Edmonton is a dump. Sorry man, nothing personal.

March 22nd, 2012 at 9:24 AM
Milk first people don’t understand basic physics. Cereal always goes in first.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Although, when making a cup of coffee, I recently began pouring milk into the mug first and then coffee (rather than vice versa).
saves washing one spoon.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Cereal first. Always.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Sure have. Walked into the local appliance store, saw the exact one I was looking for on an open box buy and bought it. Got installed 3 days later without a problem.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:26 AM
Exactly why I started doing it that way. Sheer laziness on my part. But it seems to be working.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:27 AM
Agreed. The amount of milk is completely dependent on the amount of cereal. Unless you’re Craig from Friday, you’ll be using a gallon of milk w/ those Crunch Berries regardless.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:27 AM
Milk first people don’t understand basic physics.
either your cereal floats, meaning you can have spillage, or your cereal is heavier than milk, meaning you can create a bowl sized tsunami. Either way, milk first is just increasing the odds of making a mess.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:27 AM
that’s the way to do it…the perfect mix.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:28 AM
Absolutely. I put sweetner, then milk, and when the coffee brews it stirs it for me.
If you put milk before the cereal, doesn’t the milk splash everywhere? It’s just retarded.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:29 AM
Exactly why I started doing it that way. Sheer laziness on my part. But it seems to be working.
I’m still stuck with the spoon, because my wife takes sugar. But you don’t have to give up heat when you stir.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:29 AM
When you have cereal does the cereal go in the bowl first or the milk?
I’m not even hungry, and now I want cereal.
For me, how do I know how much milk to use if I don’t compute a proper visual cereal-to-milk ratio? I strive to minimize premature fluid absorbtion (the “soggies).
Crunch response is key to my enjoyment of cereal. Too much milk, too early, hinders that.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:29 AM
As opposed to say that shithole you call Edmonton?
Ha, guns a blazing this morning. The only better city than Edmonton in the West is Vancouver. I’ve lived in most of the major ones.

March 22nd, 2012 at 9:31 AM
It’s just retarded.
No, retarded is thinking that the entire NFL investigation into the Saints consisted of one tattooed asshole’s sketchy testimony, and that your team has been victimized by some conspiracy to re-marginalize it in favor of the more “popular” teams.
Breesus is giving us the silent treatment after announcing he’s giving us the silent treatment, a la that cute girl in that commercial that JHS hates so much.

March 22nd, 2012 at 9:32 AM

March 22nd, 2012 at 9:34 AM
Calgary is way better than Edmonton. Toronto does not wow you right away but it becomes awesome the more explore it.

@Geezus: The cost of living in Vancouver is what prevented us from moving there. Toronto is cheaper than Calgary, except for the home prices. Unless you want to live 40 miles away (and 1.5 hour commute each way) from the actual city. Such is life.

The wife begged me to read the book. I did. It was actually pretty good. It’s a really quick read.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:51 AM
What the fuck is this shit?!?!? Just when you think you’ve seen it all….
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:51 AM
2 miles. Fuck all y’all.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:52 AM
you Canucks and your crazy commutes. I live 30 miles away from my work and I get there in 30 minutes.
I live about 35kms (20 miles) from work, takes about 25 minutes. Usually going against the flow of traffic.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:52 AM
For some reason I can’t get over that Jennifer Lawrence is 21.
She was 20 in X-Men: First Class and when she famously rocked the red dress at the Oscars.
I find her quite fetching.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:53 AM
Vancouver crack shack or mansion?
/Damn Asian gangs and their realty speculation
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:53 AM
The wife begged me to read the book. I did. It was actually pretty good. It’s a really quick read.
that’s what i’ll probably do.. .read the books.
/nobody cares
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:53 AM
Just when you think you’ve seen it all….
Now, that’s just messed up.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:53 AM
My attraction to her is more directly correlated to the amount of cleavage she displays at a given time than any other woman
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:54 AM
I initially thought this was another Twilight shitfest, but after asking a lot of people and reading some reviews, it seems the books are very legit and the movie is pretty good. I’m probably gonna see it on Friday evening.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:54 AM
All I gotta say is that Winter is Coming, and holy shit the past 150 pages of Storm of Swords that I read is awesome.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:54 AM
9 miles…25 minutes…I hate New Jersey.
I pretty sure CA and NJ are the 2 worst states in the country for commuting.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:54 AM
My bus ride is less than three miles and it takes a half hour. Some decent talent on it though usually. And always the chance for a knife fight.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:54 AM
They’re super quick reads. You’ll probably read all 3 in about a week.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:55 AM
yeah, but are you smitten with her?
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:55 AM
I’ve said it before but everyone jacking it to the Hunger Games needs to watch Battle Royale, the movie/book that white bitch stole to make Hunger Games.
The fine ass Japanese schoolgirl assassin from Kill Bill is in it.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:55 AM
Plus, Jennifer Lawrence can actually act. She was universally praised (and nominated and awarded) for her role in Winter’s Bone.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:55 AM
I’m in a new house (3 years old)
1. Gas fitting in house not what installers expected. Trip to hardware store.
2. Gas dryers require metal (not foil) vent hoses. Trip to hardware store.
3. Laundry room wired only with 220 for electric. Temporarily using a 3ft 12 guage extension cord in the room.
4. First time use set off smoke detector
But it works great!
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:57 AM
Please. I was on the interstate in Atlanta for a little under 5 miles and it took 25 minutes today. 14.5 miles = 1 hour this morning.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Stole it? Suzanne Collins has done like one TV interview ever and said the idea came to her one night when she was watching reality TV (Survivor) and saw a bunch of young people competing through their own jealousy, desire and competitiveness. Then she flipped on the news and saw Iraq war footage. And it all came together.
But she could be lying.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:59 AM
She can get it
I would go homicidal
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Very true this. I love Vancouver but the cost of living is a bit much. That and the traffic.
Now back to waiting for word of a Duncan Keith suspension.
March 22nd, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Ya but that one’s full of asians bro.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:00 AM
Yeah she’s lying.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:00 AM
The Running Man too, it sounds like
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:01 AM
It was frustrating, by I was listening to a CD I made the previous day so it went by fast enough. If it’s that way after work I’ll be less happy-go-lucky about it.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:01 AM
That’s almost exactly my commute. I didn’t know that was bad.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:01 AM
But she could be lying.
Yeah she’s lying.
sounds made up to me.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:02 AM
Go on…
Richard Bachman FTW!!
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:02 AM
Yeah. That’s what I mean. The dystopian competition genre isn’t even remotely new and this chick is getting praised for being an innovator.
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for stories about kids dying but this is about as original as a mother-in-law joke.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:02 AM
It’s every day in Atlanta. Fourth-worst traffic city behind NYC, DC and LA.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:02 AM
Just saw that Chipper Jones is retiring at season end. Even though I have hated him for so long, I still respect him and he’s a first ballot HOFer.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:03 AM
Please. I was on the interstate in Atlanta for a little under 5 miles and it took 25 minutes today. 14.5 miles = 1 hour this morning.
Lemme guess… 285?!
Fuck that interstate. Right in it’s median.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:03 AM
Yeah – I thought that’s what I was doing, only better. Ordered it online and they were at my house at 8:45AM two days later. Seemed too good to be true and it was.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:03 AM
You’re goddamn right he is.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:04 AM
I wish perfume was outlawed in offices. Nothing nastier than overpowering cheap perfume by a coworker.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:04 AM
I-85 is the happy trail to Satan’s cock.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:05 AM
Yeah, don’t ever drive into or out of D.C. in rush hour traffic. I-66, I-95, and I-495 are a nightmare at peak hours.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:05 AM
Basically that all the media leaking “one-liners” and damning the book because of that are putting the book in a bad light. He pitched his sale and pleaded for everyone to just read the book because “it’s about six years of MY life that happened to be spent coaching Tiger Woods.”
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:06 AM
I love her. But I’d take Miho from Sin City over her
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:06 AM
I’m going to steal the book on Kindle because I want to read it… but that bastard doesn’t deserve a dime.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:06 AM
Yup. I get on where Cobb Parkway and 75 meet up with 285 and I get off on Riverside. Like…less than 5 miles I believe.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:06 AM
It’s every day in Atlanta. Fourth-worst traffic city behind NYC, DC and LA.
A lot of that has to do with people living 40 miles away from their job down here. If you live in the exurbs and work downtown, you shouldn’t complain about your commute. I know people have their reasons for living way the fuck out there, but the cost of that is the long commute. These same people are the ones that won’t approve rail extensions into the north metro because they’re afraid it will bring in “crime.”
But I’m guessing Husker was on 285… that’s just a bitch. Honestly, if you live ITP, traffic really isn’t that terrible most of the time.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:07 AM
Shocker – you don’t listen to that awesome morning radio here. Gotta be some of the best ever.
/Thank god for my ipod.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:07 AM
Oh and Philly is highly underrated traffic wise…676 is packed solid between 7am and 11am and 3pm-7pm, the Schuykil is an absolute shitshow for a good 20 mile span, east and west. And 95 can get fucked as well.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:07 AM
Just saw that Chipper Jones is retiring at season end. Even though I have hated him for so long, I still respect him and he’s a first ballot HOFer.
Yep. I too hated the guy, because he was good & it seemed the teams I rooted for could never get him out.
Good for him on a HOF career.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:08 AM
Radio in Atlanta is just awful. I don’t mind 680 the Fan for sports talk in the afternoons, but the FM dial is just an abortion.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Commutes are for suckers. When you live with your work and the commute is a three minute walk out to the hives, perfect.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Garden State Parkway in NJ is a piece of shit.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Chicago traffic is a lot worse than Atlanta, IMO. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve just been parked on the Dan Ryan without moving at all. At least down here you move.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:10 AM
Preach on.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:10 AM
Christina Hendricks
Philly, if you lived in Bergen County, NJ this would be a typical commute.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:10 AM
I’m on that road everyday. Just awful.
And I’ve sat in Schuykil jams on weekends that weren’t due to accidents or anything. Nothing worse than sitting in standstill traffic during the weekend when you endure it during the week.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:11 AM
I’d say that shit, too, if I was concerned about being hauled into court for copyright theft.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:11 AM
$1,500 for a 3 bedroom condo very near Yonge and Sheppard. Subway to work. Fill up the car about once a month. Can’t complain.
Not enough infrastructure anywhere in Canada. Coming from the freeway awesomeness that is PHX it’s tough to beat.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:12 AM
Every road in NJ is a piece of shit…the Turnpike, the GSP, the Atlantic City Expressway, Rt. 1 & 9. The only road that might not be terrible is 295.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:12 AM
I live in north Alpharetta. I still can’t believe they didn’t lay down the foundation for rail right up the median of 400. Biggest transportation fail ever.
I never complain about the traffic – I know what I got into – damn good schools and sports for the kids. The only thing I don’t like are the moron drivers. Had 2 really nice cars busted up by other people. Now I drive a beater during the week and dare the jackasses to hit me.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:12 AM
But I’m guessing Husker was on 285… that’s just a bitch. Honestly, if you live ITP, traffic really isn’t that terrible most of the time.
I should say… it’s not nearly as bad as I expected, given the press Atlanta gets about its traffic. 400 is a cocksucker of a roadway.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:14 AM
I laughed.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:14 AM
All you people bitching about traffic should try dealing with a downtown that is only accessible by bridges and tunnels. If I had to commute to work in Pittsburgh I would kill myself.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:15 AM
That be cheap. $1100 one bedroom in the Junction.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:16 AM
All of this.
The good thing about 400 is you can go 90 and no one cares, but the rush hour is terrible for sure.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:16 AM
Why’s 400 so bad? Taking everyone to the suburbs – Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, etc?
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:16 AM

This guy gets it.
And yeah, epic fail on not extending the rail along the median of 400.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:16 AM
I love my little slice, west of 287 and north of 78.
Well, not love. More like tolerate. I’d still move out of NJ in a cocaine heartbeat if/when the opportunity presents itself.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:17 AM
Also, is 400 ITP or outside worse?
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:17 AM
I listen to 680 some. One of the guys at 680 is actually a friend … but I have a hard time even listening to him.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:18 AM
Why’s 400 so bad? Taking everyone to the suburbs – Sandy Springs, Alpharetta, etc?\
It’s one of the only North/South roadways taking people to the suburbs in that part of the metro… so rush hour is an absolute shit show. If you’re ever stuck on it at 430 on a Friday… I’m sorry.
Atlanta’s biggest problem with traffic is its lack of major secondary roads that could help alleviate some of the interstate traffic.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:19 AM
Mike Leach needs to shut the fuck up. Holy hell would this be horrible.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:19 AM
Multiple occasions … as I’m going 80-ish on 400, I’m passed by motorcycle rider on one wheel.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:20 AM
if I can do a home improvement project in less than 2 trips to Lowe’s, I consider it a success regardless of outcome.

Holy hell I could tell you some things …
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:23 AM
Only a few spots to cross the river is an issue.
Yeah, for sure. It doesn’t help that the secondary roads down here don’t really hold the same direction for their duration. North/South Roads turn into East/West and vice versa.
/misses grid system
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:23 AM
It is Kincade!!! Is he a dick in real life, or is that just his radio schtick? Surely he’s not that much of an asshole in real life.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:23 AM
people that live in a large metro area that bitch about traffic are like people that live in Phoenix and bitch about the heat in the summer.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:24 AM
Also, is 400 ITP or outside worse?
It’s pretty terrible everywhere during rush hour. Otherwise, it’s not bad, if you don’t mind people blowing by you doing 100MPH.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:24 AM
“This conversation about traffic is really interesting,” said no one.

i mean, i don’t really begrudge him since he’s been consistent the whole time saying the book’s about him and his stint teaching tiger. for all we know, the juicy bits have already been vetted and the rest is golf nerd porn.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:33 AM
You’d be paying a whole lot more for that kind of condo in Vancouver. I can’t help but think that housing prices around here are due for some type of “correction,” but yet they keep crawling up.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:33 AM

Job is in North Decatur. Looking at living in North Druid Hills/North Atlanta area. Any suggestions? I’d like to avoid living in the heart of downtown, anywhere on the westside (because of the commute), or in Decatur b/c I don’t want to live on top of the job site.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:34 AM
Excellent markup fail on my part, thank you.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:36 AM
Did you see On The Range last night? The bit they did with The King visiting with guys while they practiced was great. I could watch 3 hours of that.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:36 AM
You lucky mother fucker. Decatur is badass. Best restaurant scene in the ATL metro area if you ask me.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:36 AM
is he bad? I’ve listened to him some on my travels to and from Gainesville on the weekend for classes and nothing ever stood out as terrible.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:38 AM
Husker … you’re on … I’m shutting the hell up.

I’ve actually really like Decatur every time I’m over there… not sure how others feel about it. The North Druid Hills/North Atlanta area is also a good place to look. I like the area around Emory… Midtown has a pretty large gay population, and Buckhead is full of the frat/sorority/big money types, but that’s also my broad brush at work. I’m in the Brookhaven area… it’s working out pretty well.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:41 AM
He plays his role of the sanctimonious, ne’er do wrong blow hard. He and Buck were demoted to the afternoon 12-3 session because they just lost any and all oomph. Chuck and Chernoff talk CFB, NFL and then Braves, which is what people in Atlanta want to hear. Kincade always comes off as the ego maniac who thinks he’s the best option for everything.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:42 AM
Virginia Highlands is a great in-town neighborhood but also more on the pricey side.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:42 AM
Nice – I like Brookhaven a lot.
I second the Emory/CDC area as nice.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:42 AM
OK, so maybe I’ll also check out residence Decatur, too. I didn’t know it was that nice. Maybe I’m thinking like south Decatur or something??
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:46 AM
Decatur is interesting. One street will be badass and awesome, and two streets over will be the ghetto. It’s also expensive to live there, at least as far as housing goes. Apartments are an unknown to me in terms of pricing. All i know if if you live in Decatur, get to know the Brickstore. It’s one of the best bars in the country (some site rated it as such) as they have an insane beer selection. And Big Tex Cantina (owned by the Fox Bros BBQ people) is incredible.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:46 AM
sounds a lot like a Cowherd-lite.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:47 AM
OK, so maybe I’ll also check out residence Decatur, too. I didn’t know it was that nice. Maybe I’m thinking like south Decatur or something??
Yeah… Decatur is an older neighborhood so it has a lot of character… plus it’s connected to MARTA, only a few minutes from downtown and has great Bars/Restaurants like Husker said.
Are you thinking of South Dekalb maybe? Because yeah… I wouldn’t want to live or work there.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:48 AM
Eddies attic is a cool bar in Decatur as well… lots of big time musicians came through there before they were famous.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Exactly. He fills in for Cowherd from time to time, and he thinks he’s just like him. Cowherd is awful many times, but his worst day is still light years ahead of Kincade.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:49 AM
One street will be badass and awesome, and two streets over will be the ghetto.
That’s a pretty apt description for most of Atlanta, actually.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:50 AM
Definitely not south Decatur because I’ve heard bad things. I’ll have to check out some apartments there, too. No houses for me yet, although I know some nice ones can be bought on the cheap.
I had no idea Decatur was a nice little place. The bar/restaurants, especially, as that’ll be a way for me to meet some new people.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:52 AM
= Decatur, not south Decatur
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:52 AM
Seriously…you’re close to the Highlands in Decatur as well as Little 5, meaning you can hit up Fox Bros BBQ on the reg (best in the city) and go to the bars in VH and Decatur. My wife and I would move their tomorrow if we weren’t so poor.
March 22nd, 2012 at 10:55 AM
And it’s like a 6-7 mile/20 minute trip to Piedmont Park, Sweetwater, Atlantic Station, downtown, etc.
March 22nd, 2012 at 11:00 AM
I haven’t been to Atlanta much (other than driving through a few dozen times), but I really liked the Emory area when we were there a couple of days last spring.
March 22nd, 2012 at 11:06 AM
I’m obsessed with their beer right now. got a sixer of the IPA and another sixer of the 420 in my fridge.
March 22nd, 2012 at 11:08 AM
Trayvon Martin’s shooting might have involved a racial slur
That’s awful. So, aside from killing a kid because he was black, the guy might have been a racist, too? That’s just going too far. It’s one thing to kill somebody because of their race but let’s not tarnish this man’s character by calling him a racist.
March 22nd, 2012 at 11:08 AM
Huge fan of the Blue.
