I have to be honest here… I’m SEVERELY disappointed in my Kindle Fire. I have downloaded books and twice I’ve had an issue where I’ve had to do a second download even when I’m in the middle of reading. The battery life completely sucks. I’ve shut it down for a couple of days with a full battery and when i turn it back on it’s at 15%. The navigation on the machine is sloppy and there are tons of delays going between the web and back to a book. I’ve also had issues with the charger and trying to hook the Kindle up to my computer to transfer purchased books onto the machine. Even the Amazon-brand USB connection doesn’t charge my Kindle when I plug it into my desktop computer. It’s possible I have a faulty machine but at this point I don’t think I’d ask for a new Fire to replace my existing one. I’d rather just have the Kindle that’s for reading only.

I’ve experienced some of the delays that you mentioned, but other than that my experience has been the complete opposite.

Yep, that’s what I’ve heard. Trust me, I got a second-hand nook color and it works well, but I wanted a more complete tablet and thought the Kindle Fire would fit perfectly. Guess it’s iPad or nothing.

Yes, but that’s my point. It’s not stupid if a eleventy billionaire spends this kind of money on cars for the reason I stated. But it is very stupid if some schmuck making $50k a year does this.
