NCAA Tournament 2012: Florida vs. Virginia, Florida State vs. St. Bonaventure, and Georgetown vs. Belmont
The ACC continues with the next two games. The ACC and SEC face off as Virginia takes on Florida, then Florida State and Georgetown seek to hold off two credible #14 seed threats.
#7 Florida vs. #10 Virginia, 2:10 in Omaha (TNT): Florida’s 3-guard lineup likes to shoot threes, and shoots them well. Virginia is pretty good at defending the three point line for the first 39 minutes of a game. Mike Scott of Virginia is the most dominant player on the floor, but if Florida can contain him with Patric Young and Erik Murphy, they can win.
The Line: Florida by 3. The Pick: I think this could go either way, I’ll take the points. Virginia +3.
#3 Florida State vs. #14 St. Bonaventure, 2:45 in Nashville (CBS). Florida State just rolled through the ACC tournament. Now, they must survive the Bonnies, who surprised in the A-10. Florida State can play with anyone, or down to anyone. They have two major weaknesses. They turn the ball over on offense too much, and while they play great half court defense, can be vulnerable to put backs. St. Bonaventure is not going to pressure or turnover teams (though FSU could commit unforced ones). They do have a front line with Andrew Nicholson to get on the glass on missed shots.
The Line: Florida State by 6.5. The Pick: I think the Bonnies have a chance here, so I will take St. Bonaventure +6.5.
#3 Georgetown vs. #14 Belmont, 3:10 in Columbus (TruTV). Contrast in styles here, as Belmont will want to establish up tempo while Georgetown will try to slow it down. Belmont’s offense is pretty good, and they have good shooters, but Georgetown’s strength is frustrating good shooters. The difference likely comes on the other end.
The Line: Georgetown by 3.5. The Pick: The line has moved down to 3.5 since opening at 6.5. I’m not sure I like it as a value anymore, and Georgetown against Belmont in half court defense is the key. Georgetown -3.5.

Pumped. Just got tickets for the SU and OSU game tomorrow. Oh West Virginia fans, I love profiting on your optimism.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:15 PM
fuck Georgetown.
Rooting hard for St. bonaventure despite picking FSU. Gotta root for the upstate NY team.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:16 PM
Wow, Cincy. Texas sucks. And I do mean, Sucks. Talented, but very young.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:16 PM
Nice, mole. How much did that run you
March 16th, 2012 at 2:16 PM

March 16th, 2012 at 2:17 PM
Eighty a piece. Face is 70. Lowest I could find, spent four hours this morning looking. Being right near OSU and Cuse only five hours away the tickets are in huge demand.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:18 PM
Upper or lower bowl?
March 16th, 2012 at 2:19 PM
fuck Georgetown.
At least they’ll win or lose of their own accord. And their student athletes have even seen the insides of the classrooms on campus.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:20 PM
Eighty a piece. Face is 70.
That $20 should be enough to cover those WVU fans’ dinner for a week. Or the 24 pack of bud light for the drive home.

March 16th, 2012 at 2:29 PM

how they are a 3 seed is beyond my comprehension.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:29 PM
Deli mustard (Boar’s Head variety) is amazing. Good quality dijon (not Grey Poupon shit) is also fantastic.

Texas made a valiant comeback, but came up short. Too bad, so sad.

This is why I read the comments. LOL.

Horseradish mustards are amazing.
Most mustards are. Beer mustards? Amazing.
Fuck that bracket. Worse than Cartoonology.

March 16th, 2012 at 2:32 PM
Well since I’m the crazy person who’s got UF and FSU both in the Final Four, guess where my rooting interests lie.
And I think I picked Belmont on a hunch. The Big East: where pushing happens!
March 16th, 2012 at 2:32 PM
Mustard is almost as bad as Lindsay Lohan’s new face
March 16th, 2012 at 2:32 PM
WHERE IS THE FUCKING LINK?
March 16th, 2012 at 2:33 PM
Guy Fieri should be way higher than a 6 seed.

i like the mustard/mayo combo, at least with turkey or ham sandwiches. roast beef is strictly horseradish and nothing else.
miracle whip, on the other hand, tastes like baby vomit with splenda.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:36 PM
Careful…someone might “fire” you for saying crazy talk like that.
Things people without taste say for $1,000 Alex.

March 16th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
It was on the State game. But here.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:38 PM
NC State is going to be fucking loaded next year. Best recruiting class they have had in god knows how long, only lose CJ Williams.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:40 PM
when AC3 comes out, im going to have to take that entire week off of work.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:41 PM
NC State is going to be fucking loaded next year
i was just looking at that the other day. makes me wish sidney lowe was still there to fuck it all up.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:41 PM
TBL well done by now?
March 16th, 2012 at 2:43 PM
If they pull Amile Jefferson from Duke’s clutches they will have four McDonald’s All Americans.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:45 PM
I’m not sure I want to start another story arc already (or by Halloween), I’ll wait a while to buy it.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:47 PM
So Peyton worked out for Captain Comeback and took a physical. If they like what they see and he chooses SF, the Niners are going to be a blast to watch next year.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:47 PM
i wish nothing but the worst for debbie yow. please let this class be shady, resulting in some penalty from the ncaa.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:47 PM
This. American Revolution? Sold, take my money, now.
/just finished Arkham City, easily in my top 12 game of all time
March 16th, 2012 at 2:49 PM
It was so badass. That’s the kind of game I want someone to make with X-Men. Instead we get the shit Activision pimps out.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:50 PM
There’s a kid from Oak Hill, so there’s always ALWAYS a chance.
ACIII might be worth waiting for them to put out DLC to get it.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:51 PM
Mole: Are you from NC or something? You seem to know a lot of NC-based teams.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:51 PM
Were you kinda ‘eh’ on the ending like I was? (Not the final, final part…that was awesome, but the two points that led to it)
March 16th, 2012 at 2:53 PM
I did enjoy X-Men Legends 1 & 2 though. Those games were fun.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:54 PM
Yeah my family has lived there since ’94, I’ve moved around a bit but spent fifteen of the last eighteen years there.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:54 PM
Mole: Are you from NC or something? You seem to know a lot of NC-based teams.
i know he’s a filthy dook fan, and he probably enjoys miracle whip.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:55 PM
You’re up in PA now, though, right?
March 16th, 2012 at 2:56 PM
It was kinda meh, but overall it was definitely one of the better endings to any video game.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:56 PM
mole enjoys miracle whip, not as a foodstuff, but as lube.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:58 PM
@ill lol nicely done.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:58 PM
Holy shit the assassin in ACIII is a Native American.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
HOW DARE YOU SIR, I only use Duke’s Mayonnaise.
Yep moved to Pittsburgh six months ago today.
March 16th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
anybody going low at Transitions today?
March 16th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
spencer – im playing the 9-hole muni in DC tomorrow morning. my game is THAT bad right now.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
Damn. Gotta be a big change going from NC to the Burgh. I have some really good friends in Charlotte and I always love hanging out there.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
Half Mohawk Indian, half something I forgot.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
From what I read, half Native American, half British. Still, can not wait for 10/30
March 16th, 2012 at 3:03 PM
Half English. The Mohawk fought on the side of the British, soooo I’m interested to see how this works out. Clearly Washington is going to be one of the Templar.
I went to law school at PSU and spent a lot of time in Pittsburgh, but I went to school in the mountains of NC so I’m used to the weather. This winter has been insanely warm. But I’m from Charlotte.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:04 PM
My mom bought a cabin in Hayesville, NC last August. I love it up there.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:05 PM
All I know is Washington is a main character while Ben Franklin will be making inventions for you like Da Vinci.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:09 PM
And some combat stuff for those that haven’t already read it:
March 16th, 2012 at 3:11 PM
The part about Franklin being the new Da Vinci is just awesome. I’m just glad there aren’t as many games this year coming out like last year that I want to buy. Only bought Mass Effect 3 so far, will get FF13-2 when it drops to $35-40.
March 16th, 2012 at 3:15 PM
Yeah that’s closer to Asheville, cool area.
March 16th, 2012 at 4:05 PM
Ideal hot dog toppings: ketchup, mustard, pickles.
