March Madness Arrives: No. 15 Norfolk State Upsets No. 2 Missouri 86-84
March Madness arrives. Norfolk State, a No. 15 seed from the MEAC, knocked off the Big 12 champion No. 2 Missouri. This could have been a No. 1 vs. No. 16 game. It is Norfolk State’s first ever win against a ranked opponent. The Spartans lost earlier this season to Div-II Elizabeth City State by 12 at home. Retribution for the way Haith left Miami? Will we relive 1990 all over again?
Both teams shot over 50 percent, just a very well-played game. Norfolk received an incredible game from senior center Kyle O’Quinn who scored 26 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, three of them crucial in the final moments.

Appropriate for the weekend, eh?

Did Kenny Smith just say the phrase “Kyle O’Quinnsanity” twice?
Someone please take him off the air.

Looks like Mizzou will have to enjoy that Elite 8 banner for a few more years.
/They just Kansased harder than Kansas does.

With all due respect to Lisk, whose work I enjoy thoroughly and though I don’t know him, seems exactly like the type of opposing fan I’d love to hang around…
Fuck Mizzou.

Should’ve included O’Quinn’s interview in this post.

“that wasn’t a kiss, that was a smooch”.
Manoman, the defender challenged the shot pretty well, but the St Louis guy banked in a three at the half. Yeesh.

They also beat Drexel, TCU, and lost by 2 to Marquette. And oh yeah, Missouri.
/MEAC Represent!

Impressive video rip and turnaround time, kudos to Mike the Possible Intern (MPTI). Also, savvy (The Big Lead) imbedded in the corner as well.

Die Mizzou. Fuck Mizzou. Mizzou is Dead.
/They just Kansased harder than Kansas does.
That’s about perfect.
/KU hasn’t played yet. They share a locker room with Mizzou this weekend.
//Bourbon.
And I’ll go with the other couple KU fans here. Lisk is just a stand up guy. I don’t feel bad for him because they lost. Because, Fuck Mizzou. Just I know how it feels when a Final Four is expected and the team shits the bed.
March 16th, 2012 at 8:13 PM
I wanted Mizzou to win just for the possibility of the final with KU. Hopefully KU doesn’t “Kansas” it like my fellow jayhawker stated ha

Man, my Memphis Tigers are melting. Somebody, anybody – help!
March 16th, 2012 at 8:59 PM
Boy, once again team ball beats my hully-gully, AAU-style Memphis Tigers.
Well, at least my Grizzlies aren’t eliminated yet.
Aaaaand, Lehigh is leading the Dukies. At least we got that going for us.
March 16th, 2012 at 9:03 PM
Sorry SROD. Hully-gully ball is cruel mistress.
March 16th, 2012 at 9:04 PM
Lehigh already in bonus with 8:52 left. Duke, youre just fantastic

It’s always great to have Rick Majerus back in our lives.

scripty and A.P., thanks. If you’ve ever seen the Tigers play, you know the better team won in that game against St Louis.
I just get a little frustrated every year. The Tigers recruit all these dudes that really tear it up in AAU. But, in March, those same dudes can’t hit a free throw. They don’t box out. They don’t shuffle their feet on defense.
I’m learning to really hate AAU ball.
I’m ranting. I’d better stop.

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, “biblical”?
Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.
Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes…
Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!

Lehigh’s gag reflex is kicking in during the last 30 seconds. Still looks good, but they’re going to have to sweat out what should have been an easy close out.

Brutal loss by my alma mater, they allowed a bad shooting team to light it up. Thanks Duke for losing to overshadow our loss. I’ll be rooting hard for Detroit tonight.
