I guess in my mind you should be proud of something you’ve accomplished or something you’ve actually done. I’m Irish…not really proud or ashamed of that fact.

It takes on a slightly different meaning given the context I think. Similar to ‘power’ does for blacks and chicanos, it’s not so much as asserting an authority over others as much as it’s claiming equal power they’ve been denied so long. Being gay is something a lot of people in society thought to be shameful, so for some people it makes sense.

At least you can identify and remember the location of intersection lights. East Cleveland had a mobile camera (eventually found to be illegal) that they moved all over the place so you never even knew where it was. Oh, and East Cleveland is terrifying.

Additionally, the camera companies get most of the revenue. These are not big revenue streams for cities. They are for safety.

Not true here. The split is 80/20 camera company/city, up to a certain amount. Anything over that goes to the city. Oh, and last year the city cleared a couple million.
