If you want to base it off of this year Durant is taking 1.3 more shots a game but scoring 6.6 more points a game. Anthony does get you that .3 more assists a game which proves how great of a passer he is. Defense is your argument which makes no sense because neither one of them are a great defender.

Besides that, Durant to his benefit didn’t have to deal with a coach who thought good ball movement was getting Marcus Camby and Kenyon Martin ugly jump shots from the top of the key, or getting Tyson Chandler into double digits. Anthony is a better passer, better, more versatile defender, better, all around offensive player. He gets you assists from the post and the wing. All great offensive players dominate the ball. Charles Barkley made a living off of backing down players to draw the double and dishing out. A good coach can run offense off of that. Unfortunately, Karl isn’t a good offensive coach, and D’Antonti only knows one way to coach. The only advantage Durant has on Anthony is from the perimeter.

Now it appears there’s a hard-on for Phil Jackson as if he’s going to show up and sprinkle some NBA championship potion on the squad. It seems like there’s a tendency to overvalue whoever it is you don’t have right now as if getting him will solve everything right away.
