Sean Avery Has Not Retired Despite What He Told Nicole Richie on a Bravo Talk Show
Sean Avery is no longer with the New York Rangers or the AHL’s Connecticut Whale. While Avery may not have a hockey team, he will always be welcome on Team Fabulous. That’s why he appeared on Bravo’s “What What Happens Live!” with Nicole Richie and host Andy Cohen. Around the 4:25 mark Avery is asked his future in hockey and he says that he threw his skates in the Hudson river and is retired. That silence you hear is every GM in the NHL shrugging and moving on with their day.
Fret not fashion-forward hockey fans, Sportsnet’s Marc Spector talked to Avery’s agent who said that Avery had no plans to file retirement papers. As Puck Daddy points out, Avery will be an unrestricted free agent this summer so let the bidding war begin! [h/t: Lozo]
