Orlando is Reportedly Trying to Add Monta Ellis in an Effort to Keep Dwight Howard
Fun with batshit insane NBA trade rumors! The trade deadline is Thursday:
the Magic, Warriors and Hornets are in discussions on a three-team trade, two league sources confirmed.
Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins and Dorell Wright would be sent by the Warriors to the Magic.
Ryan Anderson, J.J. Redick, Hedo Turkoglu and Quentin Richardson would be the main outgoing pieces from Orlando.
The Hornets’ exact involvement is unclear, but believed to be centered around Chris Kaman.
In a nutshell: Dwight Howard is now calling the shots, and he’d like to swap his inconsistent teammates for Golden State’s chucker, lazy center, and a homeless man’s Tracy McGrady. Got it.
Depending on how you want this swap to work, the NBA trade machine says it favors the Warriors. What doesn’t make sense is why the Hornets would unload Kaman … and in return get Hedo Turkoglu and his awful contract.
Hey, only 48 hours more of ridiculous Dwight Howard trade rumors! And then, when the Magic hold onto him, we’ll be saddled with … over three months of, “Dwight Howard is rumored to be signing with ____ on July 1st.”

That’d be the most asinine move Demps could make. I get that the market for Kaman is drier than Sahara sand. But taking back Turk McChucker and his horrendous contract would be idiotic.

BTW, a straight swap of the players mentioned between Orlando and Golden State works in the trade machine. So I have no idea what the hell the Hornets are getting involved in there for. Kaman for Q-Rich and Turkoglu is a dumbass move

And even with adding Monta, are the Magic better? Anderson is a great fit for SVG style of play. JJ too. Monta is an inefficient scorer, not much to look at on the defensive end.
Better name, better scorer, decent option at the end of games. Orlando better with him? Probably a wash at best.
