-NE has 9 million wrapped up in Welker already, and would not want to pay a WR more than him, plus have > $18 million wrapped up in 2 players for the next few years.

-Balt has a poor mans Wallace in Torry Smith, little cap room and are very unwilling to give up a 1st

-Chicago doesn’t give up draft picks and just got a more run oriented OC

-Denver is signing Manning with its cap room, but could if they are willing to lock up $10 million in cap room for a week while other FA sign and give up a first. I think they’d rather make an offer to V-Jax and keep their 1st.

you know, it’s not like we’re talking about your average 35 year old QB here. I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Peyton was above and beyond average in his career, even if he regresses a bit, you’re getting one of the smartest QB’s in the game.

No, no, no. The point I think a lot of people are making is that strength of schedule is not a great thing to look at as a predictor of future success AND you managed to contradict yourself throughout.

Also, because something has only happened a few times it will inherently make a poor comparison so you can stow the Montana/Favre/Warner/etc. comparisons, though I think some of them did better than you seem to remember.

I think the list is Kurt Warner and Brett Favre. They had pretty good success with the Cards and Vikes.
