Ricky Rubio Collided With Kobe, Team Fears He Tore ACL [UPDATE: Rubio out for the year]
Ricky Rubio collided with Kobe Bryant with 16.4 seconds left in the Timberwolves 105-102 loss to the Lakers last night. The 22-year-old is having an MRI today. Minnesota sources fear he suffered a torn ACL. From Yahoo! Sports.
“Possible ACL,” the source briefed on Rubio’s condition said. “We’ll know more after the MRI. … There’s a lot of worry right now.”
Rubio was in the midst of a strong rookie season. Minnesota was looking like a functional basketball team and battling for a playoff spot. If he’s out for the season, he will be missed.
[UPDATE: The Star-Tribune reports Rubio is indeed done for the season. The rehab time is 6-9 months, so Rubio will also miss the Olympics.]

So Wage breaks Kobe’s nose, and Kobe takes out Rubio’s ACL. Who will Rubio take it out on next season, CP3?

Being optimistic here, but Ridnour’s play as of late leads me to believe an 8-seed is still entirely possible.

That really stinks. That team was fun to watch.
