Look, maybe most schools shouldn’t reasonably expect to compete for conference championships and Sweet 16s every year. But after quite a few years of middling results with no chance for either, is it so wrong that they might want to go in a different direction in hopes of improving their lot?

I’m sure Tom Izzo is crushed that his buddy Bruce Weber is gone. But he also knows that if he loses to Bruce Weber too many times, it’s his ass on the chopping block. So I suspect he’ll get over it.

Not that Weber did a fantastic job of late, but the degree of entitlement from Illinois fans is incredible. You’re not Kentucky.

aside from the Henson probation garbage years of the early 90′s, Illinois had been a consistent top 4 seed since Henson took over. Weber missed the tournament 3 of the last 6 years, was an 8 or worse in 2 years, and the one top 4 seed they got they lost in the first round. No one’s expecting to make the Final Four every year, but it’s not out of the question to make the tournament every year at Illinois.

This is jut the best. I wonder if Tom Izzo’s wife has business cards that identify her as Tom Izzo’s Wife and if she mentors young girls in the profession of Coach’s Wife.
