Syracuse Lost to Cincinnati and Kansas Lost to Baylor, But Only One of Them Will Lose a No. 1 Seed

Syracuse struggled offensively against Cincinnati’s zone defense, and the Bearcats made eight of their first 10 3-point attempts to stun the Orange in the Big East semifinals, 71-68.
Cincinnati led by as many as 17 before Dion Waiters took over for Syracuse, pouring in a McNamara-like seven 3-pointers (28 points). Naturally, Brandon Triche and Scoop Jardine screwed up late when the Cuse pulled within three and Cincinnati survived.
The loss doesn’t significantly hurt Syracuse. The Orange will still be a No. 1 seed, but the second No. 1, behind Kentucky. The only questions: Will they face more difficult No. 2/3/4 seeds than they might have previously?
A bigger stunner than Syracuse losing was Baylor upsetting Kansas, 81-72 in the Big 12 semifinals. Baylor broke open a close game late on the strength of two Brady Heslip 3-pointers. Six Bears scored in double figures. Kansas star Thomas Robinson labored through a 6-for-17 night and Kansas was a putrid 2-of-17 from deep. Baylor had lost to Kansas twice this season by a combined 32 points.
The loss will knock Kansas off the No. 1 seed line, opening the door for Missouri or perhaps Michigan State or even Ohio State. This win will solidify Baylor as a 3-seed, but it could nab a 2-seed if they are able to knock off Missouri for the conference tourney title.

Not much you can do when Cincy is pouring in NBA range threes with defenders in their face. syracuse lost the game in the first half when UC went 8-10 from long distance

My question: which of the four will end up being shipped out west? Missouri if they win the Big 12 tourney? No way Syracuse or Kentucky get shipped west. Or North Carolina since Missouri playing in St. Louis means more tickets sold at the Edward Jones Dome?

DK, will end up being the 4th number one..so probably Sparty, Mizzou, Etc. Uk and Cuse are locks for the South and East, reapectively

I guess kU really didn’t want to play Mizzou ever again

Confused, how does acceptable Cincy over glorious Cuse not beat out #11 Baylor over #3 KU? We all knew Baylor was going to win after about 3 or 4 minutes of play, KU did not come out to play from the beginning and PJ3 was stepping up to his potential(finally). I haven’t disagreed with you in about 4 months but, man, this was a poor statement.

TBL hates KU. He consistently ranks them in the 20s during the preseason.
/TBL probably doesn’t hate KU.
//However, that was a dumb assessment of the game with Baylor.

Damn to Kansas.
Syracuse got “Virginia Commonwealthed”, ie 3 point insanity. Us Jayhawks fans know exactly what that feels like.
/at least it wasn’t Oral Roberts
//Kansas fans know about that too
