man attacked mother for using his taco sauce
Details have emerged. Apparently it was one of those Old El Paso taco sauce jars where it’s impossible to pour the proper amount out, and then she didn’t wipe off the drips so it made the cap area all crusty.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is back
When she wants to be, she is incendiary.
Oh Middle America … Olive Garden finally comes to Grand Forks, North Dakota
Calamari, anyone?
March 8th, 2012 at 8:18 AM
Fantastic. Everything about that entire article is just amazing, from the author to the content, just spectacular. I do hope there is a follow up piece on the raspberry lemonade.
Seems like those dolphins wanted out of the water, rude ass people pushed them back in.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:20 AM
Aw, coop. Let ‘em have their fun in Forko Grande. They don’t get out much.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:22 AM
After reading a few of her other restaurant reviews, I hope she’s in on the joke.
Here’s on on the Pizza Ranch:

Best. Review. Ever. I am sure that review was painstakingly crafted, like a Janoff piece I presume.

“And there’s a lot this season about every man for himself, about looking out for yourself. We know the people that need to learn that lesson but it’s really an unpleasant thing”
I can see Draper somehow screwing over Sterling this season. Not sure how it would work. Cooper got soft and it’s time for Don and Pete to start cracking skulls and running SCDP
March 8th, 2012 at 8:35 AM
Ignore this guy, he’s kind of the village idiot.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:36 AM
She had way more original material than Janoff. His review would have been a series of quotes from the waiter and other reviewers.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:36 AM
The Olive Garden review is all kinds of amazing. It’s written either for 8 or 78 year olds.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:36 AM

Inspired by the converation yesterday afternoon — I got Chipolte for dinner last night. God damn that place is amazing — though is it required to have tattoo sleeves to work there?
March 8th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
It seems we’re all in agreement that the EATBEAT should be linked in the RoundUp whenever the Grand Forks Herald reviews more of new restaurants.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
That was phenomenal. Grand Forks Herald is missing out; that kind of quality should be behind a paywall!
March 8th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
I’ll give this for the Middle American Prose in the Middle American Review: It ain’t overwritten. Eifling could learn a thing or two.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:45 AM
Took you that long to try Chipotle? You’ll be hooked.
And yeah, it seems Chipotle is the “hip” fast-casual place to work.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:45 AM
Depends upon the location, but more than likely yes. I’m excited to get some Chipotle on Saturday for lunch before my fantasy baseball draft.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:47 AM
On the radio they play these Bonefish Grill ads w/ Alec Baldwin narrating. I used his style while re-reading the OG review.

No way, I lived a block away from one at OSU. We were talking about it in the strip club thread yesterday and I needed to get involved.

next up, 7-11 hot dogs. They’re perfectly rounded from spinning on rollers, and you get plenty of condiment choices.

Is anyone else getting an auto play ad with a young Mike Golic talking about JoePa’s passing? What the hell?

I’ll get chipotle tonight as I watch the night games of the Minnesota state high school hockey tourney on tv. My team is making its first ever appearance today and we will be there for the afternoon games. Pretty amazing that these sessions will have 18,000 watching culminating to the championship game Saturday night. Only Indiana basketball and Texas football come close to the hysteria that this tourney brings.

I really want to read that Matthew Weiner interview but I’ve yet to begin watching season four, so I don’t want to spoil anything. I’m going to start tonight and hopefully burn through out it by early next week.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:53 AM
My Chipotle just opened in the past year, and everyone who works at mine is of hispanic descent.. havent noticed any tatoos
March 8th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
Yeah, they’ll love our football team.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
That Kony read was really interesting. It would be interesting to know how long some of the people commenting there knew about Kony before yesterday. Seemed like a lot of misplaced aggression over there. People were acting like they had known about this and outraged for years. Probably more like they had been outraged for hours.
Oh, and the Dollar Shave Club could be phenomenal. They have 3 different blades you can choose from and that marketing video is pretty genius.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
They were all Hispanic at the ones here in the Twin Cities then the Immigration Feds busted them. For a few days some were closed until they found documented (caucasian) staff to work at them.

It would be difficult to top the Gene Simmons tape, but if anyone can do it, it’s the Hulkster.
/assumes Hernia has a copy of the only Macho Man sex tape in existence
March 8th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
I think Indiana lost some of its luster when it went to the class system to determine the state champion. If I’m not mistaken, Kentucky is only state left that has one state championship for all schools.
March 8th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
I really want to read that Matthew Weiner interview but I’ve yet to begin watching season four…
Yes you’d absolutely have spoilers in the article. That Weiner piece is a good read though about tv writing though. Bookmark it for later.

I saw this video for the first time last night and was really fascinated. Not so much about the cause (though no one would really be agaisnt it) — but in the sense it’s a perfect storm of the generation Y culture. Find a just cause, make a cool video with sweet graphics, fast edits, throw some hip music in there (don’t tell me no one noticed the Mumford & Sons, Jayz & Kanye, and the Naked & Famous in there), a huge social media presence, and celebrities. I’ll be following it solely to see if it gains any traction or of people will forget about it by the summer. I tend to think people will forget about it.

Love Chipotle but “Add Guacamole” has a higher profit margin than [insert anything you can possibly name].
March 8th, 2012 at 9:00 AM
Inspired by the converation yesterday afternoon — I got Chipolte for dinner last night.
I picked up Moe’s for dinner based on that discussion. Still stick by Moe’s >>>> Chipotle.

March 8th, 2012 at 9:04 AM
There’s the rub. And its not like I can turn down guacamole. So then lunch is like 9 bucks. At least it lasts me for two meals though.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
agreed with both of these…except for the two meal thing.

I didn’t know Bonefish was a chain. that place is some quality dining.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
In just about any restaurant “Add (fill in the blank)” has the same effect. What you pay vs. the portion they give you is not remotely relative.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
Anyone see any invisible children this morning?
March 8th, 2012 at 9:06 AM

March 8th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
I picked up Moe’s for dinner based on that discussion. Still stick by Moe’s >>>> Chipotle.
The Moe’s salsa bar and queso sauce gets them huge points — but at gunpoint I’m going Chipolte. And I really hope for a scenario where I need to pick between Moe’s and Chipolte at gunpoint.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:07 AM
looks like i’m getting chipotle for lunch today.

The Moe’s salsa bar and queso sauce gets them huge points — but at gunpoint I’m going Chipolte. And I really hope for a scenario where I need to pick between Moe’s and Chipolte at gunpoint.
Ha, I agree with all of this. Does your Moe’s have the amazing touch screen Coke machine that dispenses the best fountain soda ever? Mine gets huge points for that too.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:09 AM
yea…im a relatively lean 190 lbs and go really light on the rice. it’s not that much food all things considered.

I can easily wolf down a burrito bowl at Chipotle in one sitting. I usually just don’t eat breakfast the day of.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
I did not know that. I know what I’m doing for lunch tomorrow!
March 8th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
Does your Moe’s have the amazing touch screen Coke machine that dispenses the best fountain soda ever? Mine gets huge points for that too.
No! WTF, why don’t I have this? Also, gotta love the employees yelling “Welcome to Moe’s!” — I’m sure they say that in their nightmares.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
No, I tear up because of the price of it.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:15 AM

There is zero chance that anywhere in Pittsburgh is touched by the April 20th nonsense.

March 8th, 2012 at 9:16 AM

I was at Mellow Mushroom the other day and saw they charged $3.50 to add avocado to a salad. I better get at least an entire avocado for that shit.
Also, Chipotle >>>> Moe’s by a country mile. Have you seen what the “chicken” looks like at Moe’s? As for this Freebirds place, they don’t have them in Atlanta, but Clown was pimping their shit on twitter awhile back and I checked out their site. It does look like my kind of place.

March 8th, 2012 at 9:29 AM
I have no idea why, but my weight fluctuates between 194-199 throughout the week despite maintaining my diet and exercise routine, and weighing myself at the same time every day.

Wow props to you for dropping that much. I always get a little alarmed at first when I start working out again and I gain a few pounds at first but then I remember that is just the muscle and I eventually drop a few pounds. I’d ideally like to be just under 180 but I can’t completely change my eating habits (which are mostly healthy) and definitely not stopping beer.

it blows…you just think back to how much work you put into getting it off and it’s doubly painful since you realize how much work it’ll be to get it off again.

I will make the trek down there Saturday evening

In the pie hole and immediately out the poo hole, amiright?
March 8th, 2012 at 9:41 AM
Anyone ever done one of those Warrior Dash things? I found one near me at the end of March, but the damn thing is $80. Is it worth it?
March 8th, 2012 at 9:41 AM
holy shit…congrats brah
thanks. i have a mandatory golf checklist, and getting into the 70s is one i have failed to do many, many times.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
Re-enactment
March 8th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
MM is good, but damn they are proud of their food up there.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
You crazy, Dawg. Chipotle may have fresher ingredients, but Moe’s has queso.
So does Qdoba
All the Qdobas in KC went out of business. I liked the one by my work. In fact, they still email me a free burrito coupon on my birthday. Fucking pisses me off.
Also, speaking of Olive Garden. When the first thing that comes up when people say they love Olive Garden is that they have great bread rolls… well, fuck. You got me there. If I’m eating Italian, I’m thinking bread rolls. Jebus. Bread sticks. Fuck. I dunno. That place is a Mario abortion.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:42 AM

if i rememeber right, you live in colleyville? wife and i are 95% sure we are moving out of east dallas and into southlake ASAP.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
Weighing yourself is overrated. I think it does more harm than good. If you are eating reasonably and working out, why bother?
March 8th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
We need to stop this recent trend of giving up alcohol around here.
Holy shit I’ve been having some crazy ass dreams (sorry no Mike Rowe or Claude Giroux) these past 2 weeks. I had a dream where I walked the final round inside the ropes at Quail Hollow (?) with Dustin Johnson and then had a Butler Cabin-esque interview with him post-round. I’ve had others where I’ve been all confused when I woke up, like that TV show. Not sure if this is all normal, related to the hospital stay, or if my drinking was more an issue than I thought.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
I think Tiger needs to hit the driver like 8-10x a round to win at Augusta. He wont win there hitting it like 5-6x like he been. Rory, DJ and Watney are going to be playing a par 68 there like the Old Tiger did.
I have Rory at Augusta, could really use a good showing from Tiger this week to get back in the running.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
Anyone ever done one of those Warrior Dash things? I found one near me at the end of March, but the damn thing is $80. Is it worth it?
I haven’t done one, but a couple folks I know have. They had a blast. Two people died at the one in KC last year. It was like 100 degrees with 90% humidity.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:44 AM
The OG will always serve 1 more breadstick than people at your table for endless breadsticks.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
ill be joining you below 80 shortly…hopefully this weeeknd.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
Did the 10-mile Tough Mudder at Mount Snow, which was like $125. Totally worth it.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
Keller, but practically in Southlake. It’s great out here, but you’ll miss the eats and drinks. I really relish the opportunities I get to hit up places like Old Monk and Louie’s.

prairie lakes in grand prairie. great course for the price, with 3 nines. not too hard, though there are a few holes on the lake that are a bitch.

I have Rory at Augusta,
Dude, I was gonna pick him at Augusta too. Are you in one of those ones where you have the pick every person before the season starts? I can make my picks week to week.

March 8th, 2012 at 9:46 AM
It’s refreshing to see this. Fucking southerners make fun of me every day for saying it.
Warrior Dash is more of a fun, drunk fest, but you’ll get muddy. I’m doing the GA Spartan Race on Saturday and have been training my balls off for it. StBear does these obstacle/mud runs, too. They’re fucking fun and a helluva challenge.
I know it doesn’t matter that much, but I need something tangible. It’s womanly of me, I know it. I feel and look just fine in my clothes.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
had my best round ever and finally broke into the 70s with a 78.
Its great when you clip a milestone with a few strokes to spare. It kind of validates it more.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
and homemade Pico rules supreme over both of those.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
One of the guys that died was a friend of a guy I work with. 24-25 years old….sad stuff.
I’ve never done anything like that, but would be interested to try. I did my first 5k last year. It was horrible…..but that probably had more to do with what I did the night before than the actual event.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
I did the Tough Mudder in PA and NJ. I think NDub did one too. I loved the Warrior Dash sign they had up at mile 3.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:47 AM
Dude, I was gonna pick him at Augusta too. Are you in one of those ones where you have the pick every person before the season starts? I can make my picks week to week.
Yea we pick all 35 tournies in January, plus the Ryder cup this year. Its tough as shit. As I posted last week, I ended up with Jerry Kelly and his +9 at the Honda which is just brutal. I’d almost rather my guy not play than watch that nonsense.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
It’s another gorgeous morning in Pittsburgh. Walking to work with a healthy buzz and listening to The Rolling Stones’ criminally underrated live opus “The Brussels Affair” with Reese’s Puffs in my stomach is about the only way to start a day where I plan on watching Metal Gear videos all day until basketball starts, billing some finance house defendant 180 dollars an hour for my “work.”
March 8th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
I did the one here in NY last August. It was fun as hell, and although I had trained beforehand by running, I didn’t know the first mile was straight up hill (it was at a ski slope) so the first part sucked but the obstacles were great. They must have raised the price because it was $55 when I did it. Although I think they charge more if you sign up late. Was a very good time though.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
I will say this about Olive Garden. That soup & salad lunch deal is nice.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
been completely dry for 3 days, haven’t slept this good in a very long time.

i love that course, its really pretty out there. we are pretty sure we will be in timarron. spent the day out in southlake a few weeks ago to get the feel, and loved it. alot more young couples out there than we thought.
and hot moms of all ages everywhere.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
Comedic. Good for them. Get that wimpy shit outta here.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:49 AM
First round of the season this afternoon. Goal for the year is to break 80, which is doable if I spend any time working on my inside-120 yards game.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:49 AM
Y’all raving about Chipotle is not that different than the old lady and Olive Garden.
/team Freebirds
+1. And stop ripping on the Olive Garden lady. Those are my people. I still miss Luby’s in Kansas City. I would eat there everyday with all the old people if it was still around.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:49 AM
According to this Rory has been in the gym with Westwood’s old trainer. Maybe he’ll be on the list of most cut up NBA ballers soon.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:49 AM
The first time I did a 5k where I hadnt had a drop of alcohol in about a week was a revelation for me. I felt like Superwoman.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:49 AM

so true.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:50 AM
When Steph Curry walks into that dude’s house and there’s tons of guys just standing around watching, it reminds me of when we hired two stripper for a friend’s bachelor party. Kind of a gangbang vibe to it.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:50 AM
WTF? That sounds terrible. Guac should be chilled, not mixed with hot queso and ground beef.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:50 AM
There is one of those military civilian combines near me in May, but it is fucking pricey and not really in my budget right now. Probably will do one of those or tough mudder or spartan races next year.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:50 AM

if I don’t smoke for a couple days I have crazy ass dreams, and usually remember them. I had one last night where I had a crotch rocket, and before I could tell my gf about it, she told me if I ever got a crotch rocket she would pour sugar in the gas tank. it was fucked up.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Mint- if you dont mind me asking, do you have a commute? i work in the park cities, and am in for a drive. just wondering how bad with all the work on 114.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Fuck….Might have to reconsider doing this now. It would be nice to have someone to do it with, but all my friends are lazy pieces of shit.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
They should combine a tough mudder with zombie chasing run
March 8th, 2012 at 9:52 AM
some people need the validation from a scale, i do better overall when i don’t pressure myself with numbers. goals on performance, not weight loss, gets me moving and i don’t overdo it trying to hit an elusive number, which would then result in an injury and no exercise.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:52 AM
My wife did one last spring and liked it, but I will never understand paying money to run.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
I’ve never had chipotle, or any food for that matter, go through me like that. Took about two and half days and then I was back to ‘normal’.

I think I’m going to DVR that JLH show’s first episode. Probably going to be an awful show but I want to see how sultry she gets in it.

+1 cafeteria tray to you Mr. Lisk.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
Much more fun if you do it with a group. But make sure everyone trains. It sucks when you have to wait for someone and/or bail on them.

March 8th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
I ran the Spartan Race by myself last year and it was just fine. I did my own pace and didn’t have to worry about running with a partner(s).
I’m sure you know about the Run For Your Lives race, right? It’s essentially a zombie mud run. They had it last Saturday here in Georgia.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
Only if Carl gets eaten at the end.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:56 AM

March 8th, 2012 at 9:56 AM
According to this Rory has been in the gym with Westwood’s old trainer. Maybe he’ll be on the list of most cut up NBA ballers soon.
Yeah he showed up in Dubai noticably bigger. His power comes from core muscles that generate tons of power. They had a fantastic sports science piece on ESPN last year during the US Open where (somebody like NIKE) did some testing on him. He had like world class strength in his midsection. But he needed to add some upper body strength to give him a bit more control. He has stenosis, so if his swing gets out of control he could damage his lower back. It was pretty smart for him to add that mass, it’ll help him reduce the risk of a major back injury.

There are Bob Evans and Ryans all over this city. Do they not fill the hole that Luby’s left in you?
March 8th, 2012 at 9:57 AM
I wanted to stay in bed so bad, but I knew after all the running I did to gear up for it (not a runner at all) I would have been pissed at myself if I didn’t go. I should probably be dead right now.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
So many runners. I despise running.
March 8th, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Yeah, thats what I was referring to. The closest one to me is in Baltimore, I might think about doing it if it wasnt so pricey and if I wasnt trying to get pregnant.

March 8th, 2012 at 10:00 AM
there’s nothing quite like overdoing it on carbs the night before.
first time i ran a 5k i went out and had a heavy pasta meal to try and carb-load the night before. i ran and felt like shit the next day.

If you leave at 630, 114 is a cakewalk. It’s a cakewalk coming home, too, until the merge with 121 at the airport. I’m driving to/from Carrollton every day and I’d rather drive into HP/UP. The times I have to drive into Love Field area to drop off my car it takes maybe 35 minutes.
March 8th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
Before my first ever cross country race back 14 years ago, I had the runs really badly. And it had a brutal uphill around 1.2 miles in that was maybe 1/4 long and just brutual. It was some kind of terribleness. I also was coming off the broken big toe that occurred during the summer.
March 8th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
last article i ever read in the ESPN magazine I still recieve despite cancelling subscription 3 years ago, was about runners who shit themselves during a race. ever since then i’ve been tossing the mag straight in the trash.
March 8th, 2012 at 10:03 AM
Do you stand around talking about the same thing for 6 hours during one of these?
March 8th, 2012 at 10:04 AM
Tough Mudder is great because there are so many obstacles that the running is in short (<.5 mile) bursts. Plus, after jumping off a 20-foot platform into a lake that has four snow machines pumping ice into it, you're ready to start running.
March 8th, 2012 at 10:04 AM
Me either. I always hop in Peachtree without paying (after the elites pass by) and enjoy running the last 5 miles.

March 8th, 2012 at 10:06 AM
I’ve shit in the woods pre race so many times. Did it once mid-10k on some hilly course in Tennessee. It was like my second college 10K- I think I finished in the bottom 10 of the race. Cross country is a crazy thing to do.

very addictive. I’m training for a half marathon in April and I’m on a routine, which I missed today, and I don’t feel right at work because of it.
I went to a Bob Evans in Lee’s Summit a couple years ago with an awful hangover. the only seats left were in the smoking section. it’s the closest I’ve ever come to throwing up in a restaurant bathroom.

i don’t think that’s a putter grip. and darren clarke is mentioned on gripmaster’s site via google search, just not on their actual website. i think those grips are these.
also…those true temper monaco shafts are AWESOME looking. id love to give em a twirl, but kinda hard to find and i don’t have the skrilla to put em in my irons.

I had asthma as a child and played football, baseball and basketball. I hated running in pactice until High School when my asthma went away, then running was great. Until my senior year when I tore my ACL the 1st time. Now I can’t run, I’m thinking about taking up swimming for cardio
March 8th, 2012 at 10:23 AM
I dont think you can do a putter grip on a non-putter. Needs to be completely round, no?
Probably has 2-3 layers of wrap below the grip.

I swam for a year for my triathlon. I had muscles I didnt know I had and felt like a god. I’d really like to go back to it.
March 8th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
I just looked it up. It is illegal to have a putter grip on a non-putter. A flat spot on a grip can help a grip. This is tied in to how they outlawed the sihlohette grips back in the 80′s (not sure year).
March 8th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
I would love to do a triathlon one day. I could pull off the run and bike no problem, but I seriously suck so bad at swimming.
March 8th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
Found it – rule 4.3
Rule 4-3 concerns the grip. It states in Subsection (i) that a grip (not including putter grips) must be circular in cross-section, except that a continuous raised rib is permitted as long as it runs the full length of the grip. Putters are the exception and may have a flat area along one side of the grip as long as no part of the grip is concave and the flat area is generally uniform along the entire grip. (Subsection ii) Other subjects of this rule claim that the putter grip may be tapered, but cannot have any “bulge or waist”. This portion of the Rule made the popular Silhouette grip of the early 1990’s and the original Golf Pride Grip Rite putter non-conforming grips.
