I’d rather have Grabovski than Sharp, sure. Only because of the birthdates. Sharp still puts up better numbers than Grabovski.

I bought a Kindle Fire. Perfect little tablet for the family. Kids like it, wife likes it, and cost me $175 on an open box from Best Buy. iPads are nice, but not worth the money, IMO.

Yeah, I wouldnt turn down a free IPad, but its not neccessary for me. I’m getting a Fire for reading and browsing the web.

Why do you need to buy a $500 iPad when you can get 80% of the features from a $200 Kindle Fire? Or 120% of the features from a $500 laptop?

The only thing that bothers me about the tablet revolution is that for 99% of owners, it’s a device that is only about consuming, not creating.

That being said, I’m not about to make a judgement call about what people “need”. We all have the latest HDTVs and smart phones among a million other things that make us little piggy consumers. People should buy what they want.

Compare $5.5 annually for 28 year old Grabovski, who has cracked 50 points once, and $6.3 for Kane and Toews, $5.9 for Sharp, and $5.275 for Hossa, each of whom has been over 50 points 5 years running, with the lone exception of Sharp’s injury shortened 08-09 year at 44 points.

How much of your time in front of the computer is spent just viewing Youtube clips, browsing websites and reading blogs? Do you really need the computing power of a laptop to do that? To read TBL, view a movie or keep up with the news?

There’s 4 of them on Chicago’s roster. They all signed before the cap got bumped but they’ve all cracked 60 or 30. Some of them multiple times. Hell, one of them has a 50 goal season and makes LESS than Grabovski will.

i don’t think many people have a need for it yet since the tablet market hasn’t really defined itself yet. is it phasing out laptops, is it complimentary to laptops and desktops? is it powerful enough to handle some heavy duty creative apps people can use on the go in their respective fields, etc.

The main gist of the linked article is that tablets are poised to overtake PCs.

Maybe it’s the contrarian in my, but I feel the same about smartphones. People don’t differentiate between “want” and “need”.

I don’t advocate letting him walk. I also don’t advocate a 20% overpay for a guy that hasn’t cracked 30 or 60.
