This weekend Strikeforce hosted a great night of fights in Columbus, Ohio. Brandon Saling was a late addition to the card and he lost by TKO to Roger Bowling on the undercard. Shortly after the fight was over, it surfaced that Saling had a criminal past that involved felony rape charges and domestic violence. Oh, and his nickname is “White Steel.”

Saling has an 88 tattoo on his shoulder that features some lightning bolts. For Neo-Nazis, 88 is shorthand for “Heil Hitler.” His nickname, “White Steel” is also tattooed across his stomach. Hey, you can’t judge a guy just because he’s a big fan of his own race though, right?

Luckily, Saling also has a “colorful” legal record. Saling spent some time in jail for domestic violence in 2008 and he’s also a  registered sex offender. From The Daily Jeffersonian in 2004.

Two Noble County men are facing first-degree felony rape charges following an investigation by the Noble County Sheriff’s Office into the weekend disappearance of a 12-year-old girl and her 13-year-old sister. According to Noble County Sheriff Landon T. Smith, the girls parents had allowed them to go to an all-night birthday party at a friend’s house in Monroe County last Friday. According to reports, the girls left the party with the suspects. Brandon C. Saling, 18, Summerfield, and James T. Allen, 18, Sarahsville were each charged with rape of a person under 13 years old, a first-degree felony.

This was all dug up within an hour of Saling’s fight on Saturday night so you have to wonder why no one from Strikeforce caught this before they put him on television. Saling was licensed to fight in the state, but the Ohio commission will launch an investigation. It’s unclear if Salin disclosed his legal troubles or a topless photograph when applying for his license. It’s safe to say that Saling’s relationship with Strikeforce is over.
