Jordan Jefferson Ranked 315th out of 315 Players at the NFL Combine, According to NFL.com [UPDATE]
[UPDATE: The Shreveport Times, which quoted an NFL.com report, completely screwed up. Jefferson was ranked 315th prior to the Combine.]
Jordan Jefferson’s college career ended with a fumble, an interception, and a meek 53 yards passing in a 21-0 loss to Alabama in the National title. Last weekend, Jordan Jefferson partook in the NFL combine and bombed. The former LSU QB was so bad, NFL.com ranked him dead last among the 315 participants.
“Jefferson has serious mechanical issues that affect his play,” NFL.com said. “He lacks awareness in the pocket and tries to rely on his scrambling ability too heavily, causing him to take bad sacks. There are many fundamental elements of Jefferson’s game that need work before he would be ready to run an NFL offense.”
Bobby Hebert is nodding in agreement and still stewing that Jarrett Lee didn’t get a crack against Bama.
In case you’re wondering … Andrew Luck had the highest overall score at the combine per NFL.com. [Shreveport Times]

The John McCain of QBs!

I’m surprised he even got an invite. Dude is just not good.

The only reason Jefferson finished dead last is because Jarrett Lee wasn’t even invited to the Combine. They both stink.

no idea how this is possible when he didn’t throw.

Ridiculous right? I wonder where he’d rank if he were black.

dontari poe had the best combine, not sure how you could argue otherwise. dude played in a black hole of a team in memphis, then at almost 350 lbs, runs a sub 5.0 40 yard dash, with a ridiculous 10 yard split, 44 reps on the bench. incredible.

How did Kalil do? Hope to God the Vikings pick him.

doesn’t matter though…I mean, didn’t Harvard just tell us a few days ago that there’s no correlation between combine stats and NFL performance?

Hebert. It’s a fun name to pronounce. Try and say it.
March 1st, 2012 at 12:26 PM
that’s missing the point of the combine…there ISN’T correlation much like there was little correlation between the interview for my job and my job itself. the combine’s a big job fair, not a test.

So…..you’re saying there’s a chance???
March 1st, 2012 at 12:28 PM
LSU went 41-12 the last 4 years with Jefferson and Lee taking 99% of the snaps. That’s still unbelievable to me.

Should be titled In a suprise to no one, Jordan Jefferson Ranked 315th out of 315 Players at the NFL Combine

He was an ox, and it sounds like the decision is going to be made for them. Another team’s going to get the LA Rams’ pick and take RGIII, leaving Kalil.

SO then, becuase of the update, I guess this post wasn’t for the page views?

If LSU had had a QB in that period, they easily could have won two NCs. As it is, with Mettenberg taking over, they have a good shot to do it in 2012.

This made me laugh. Enjoy the lack of accuracy and interceptions.

The Shreveport Times, which quoted an NFL.com report, completely screwed up
no word on whether any dumbass bloggers subsequently also screwed up by running with it, too?
March 1st, 2012 at 2:14 PM
well business as usual got them to the NC game already, so i guess they have experience.
March 1st, 2012 at 2:45 PM
Do those in charge of invites actually watch real football games? Stevie Wonder could see that this guy has no business ever taking a snap in an NFL game.
March 1st, 2012 at 4:51 PM
We’ve suffered through that the last four seasons. There is no way that Mettenberg can be worse than Jefferson and Lee.

HE WAS 315 OUR OF 315 GOING INTO THE COMBINE…. HE IS PROJECTED AS A FIFTH ROUND DRAFT CHOICE… [While you are lying about what was said to him check outt the facts; Here they are] Baton Rouge – Former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson was projected as a fifth round draft choice by NFL.com’s Chad Reuter, who said Jefferson was one of the quarterback “winners” at the recent combine.Jordan Jefferson is projected as a fifth round draft choice. Jefferson, who was the 315th rated player out of 315 going into the combine, apparently helped himself, as did quarterbacks Andrew Luck of Stanford, Robert Griffin III of Baylor and Michigan State’s Krik Cousins. Jefferson’s arm strength and athletic ability will make him desirable for NFL teams looking for a late round quarterback. LSU: Jefferson always has had the physical attributes scouts look for at the quarterback position, as proved in Indy by his 6-4 1/8, 223-pound frame, 10 1/4-inch hands, 4.65 40-yard dash, 36 1/2-inch vertical and receiver-like 4.06 20-yard shuttle. He even put up 225 pounds 14 times on the bench press, a test most quarterbacks choose not to perform. The way the ball came out of his hand while he was throwing to receivers Sunday also reminded scouts of arm strength that can stretch defenses in a vertical attack. His game tape isn’t exemplary, but the skill set he showed in Indianapolis will probably be enough to see him drafted in April — possibly higher than some expect, due to a lack of promising mid-to-late-round quarterback prospects.

Go Jefferson… The Haters can not determine your faith… God is in control.. Hope you arre drafted to shut up the wanna-be-scouts… Hope Mettenbberg is good for LSU sake…It would sadden you all not to get a 13-1 record for the year with Mettenberg since you think he is God sent… Jarrett Lee went to NFL combine at LSU and his skill set was not better than Jefferson… His skill set wasn’t better during the 2011 school season… Keep fooling yourselves… I can say that I respect Lee’s father for not getting on National Tv talking about the Coach and a college graduate Jefferson playing and not his son… He says this is how it works… He has class… Now bobby Hebert’s father is another story… Jesus help grown men to grow up… Hopefully Bobby his child doesn’t have repercussions because of his faulty tongue…
