I’d be stunned if he wasn’t a multiple All-Star guy…absolute low end for me is Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

interesting comparison. SAR was such an underrated player but he did not patrol the paint and step outside to defend pick and roll like Davis did. What I’m so impressed with Davis is he just doesn’t make mistakes. Kid is a freshman and he has shown no nerves despite some delicate situations of late for them. Him stepping out to drill the 20 footer against Vandy was so clutch, he caught the ball, perfect footwork to get square and drilled it. I think he’s an absolute stud and will be unreal when he learns some more back to the basket moves.

not being critical …i look at tons of mock drafts to learn about the NFL ones. they’re great resources and even better in terms of convenience because other idiots did the research for you.

Seems like he should be a great rebounder and shot blocker who can give you 15-18 a night. Not a superstar, but maybe he can be Marcus Camby 2.0.

I honestly hadn’t thought about Camby before you and Matty_Cam mentioned it. That’s a pretty good comparison. But it’s also not a comparison that would lead me to dispense with the idea that anyone else could be the first pick.

I hate to get into picking any one player cos there are exceptions to every rule. Again in the NBA throwing your weight around usually get you in foul trouble quickly. Also Durant (or Duncan or KG or Brook Lopez) is a pretty complete basketball player. There isn’t a lot he can’t do.

The point here is that player A + 15 lbs isn’t > player A without the added weight.

We also do this with Running backs weight and durability as if carrying extra lbs protects your soft tissues and bones. Its a lazy way of thinking. Durability is about luck and genetics.

It already took him nearly half a day to do the almost no research he did for this. Now you want him to take a trip up Fran Fraschilla’s behind?
