Tiger Woods Didn’t Like Alex Miceli’s Question About Hank Haney’s Book
The guy who asked this question moments ago at Tiger’s press conference was Alex Miceli of the Golf Channel. It seemed fair. Tiger, who apparently had already tackled questions about Hank Haney’s over-hyped book – the highlight seems to be Tiger’s infatuation with Navy SEALS, as if that is some sort of revelation - did not like Miceli’s question, and responded “you’re a beauty, you know that?” Tiger side-stepped the question entirely and smugly added, “have a good day.”
Enjoy seeing this one all day (week?) on ESPN.

Why would Tiger be so sensitive about this? Is it about not wanting to seem like he’s promoting Haney’s book?
February 29th, 2012 at 12:46 PM
Brush them haters off Tiger.

People are aware that you can’t just join the SEALs, right?
February 29th, 2012 at 12:51 PM
I’d venture to guess that they’re positioning themselves for next week’s damage control “interview.”

I believe there is a special exemption if you have taken a 9-iron to the face…

smooth move, playa.

What’s ironic is that while his whore-mongering scandal was probably his most humiliating moment, it was the only time he seemed like a normal person that wasn’t an uptight dork.
February 29th, 2012 at 12:56 PM
He just needs to get back to his Buddhism. That’s all.

When is Rachel Uchitel going to write her Tiger book, and what will Tiger’s reaction be when asked questions about it?
/ Breathlessly waiting

why go there when I can watch you talk about it THE SECOND it happens?
February 29th, 2012 at 1:07 PM
the last time a Tiger got this bent out of shape, Mark Fidrych was fixing a transmission.

Expert analysis?

hilarious because it’s true.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:12 PM
Ok so I don’t get it. This whole SEAL thing was just a dumb thing that was never confirmed, and casts Tiger in a negative light. Please tell me why Tiger would want to talk about this?
The absurdity of the whole notion that he would stop playing golf to join the military and try to be accepted as a Navy SEAL is just preposterous in the first place.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:13 PM
Should be any second now. Just keep refreshing the page until you see it.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:15 PM
This really isn’t anything different than what we’re used to with Tiger. He, a) tiger doesn’t want to promote Haney’s book, b) has never been open about any non-golf aspect of his life, c) is always weary of the media (at least those reporters who haven’t earned his trust), and d) the SEAL aspirations likely stem from his relationship with his father, which he isn’t going to talk about.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:16 PM
Get out of here with this shit. Clearly he’s just an asshole because any time someone doesn’t kowtow to the media and give them great copy they’re biggest douche that ever douched.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:19 PM
Tiger should be happy that he’s not getting asked questions about plowing Perkins waitresses.

he’s already paid those whores and gold digger off, what harm can be done?
February 29th, 2012 at 1:26 PM
bfd … I wouldn’t answer a stupid-ass question like that either. The funniest part is the facial expression showing his obvious discomfort with the question.
Funny how the next guy starts his question “Tiger … a golf question..” – suck-up.

so someone at IMG is a ‘playa lawya?’
was there ever a post here on drunken steinberg? a local radio host who used to be a sportswriter used to close bars with steinberg, has some good stories. steinberg used to carry flasks of voodka for when the ars close he could carry on
February 29th, 2012 at 1:34 PM
The recent Real Sports story on him was pretty good. I was disappointed, however, that they didn’t go into more detail about his behavior at Drew Bledsoe’s wedding that caused Bledsoe to fire him.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:36 PM
mmmm, voodka. especially rooooskie voodka
February 29th, 2012 at 1:38 PM
seems like it would have been a fun post here, t.e.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:41 PM
So the guy wanted to be a SEAL? Big fucking deal. I can think of thousands of other things that are worse to be “infatuated” with than one of the baddest special forces groups in the world. Number one being sexual relations with children…Looking at you, Sandusky.

More Breaking News: Tiger is a cheapskate and a bad tipper.
This guy is such an ass clown. Treated everybody like shit on the way up and gets his panties in a wad now that he lacks total control over the media. I hope he misses a 2-footer to win the Masters. Fuck this guy.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:46 PM
Pretty much how I view this.
After what he went through in losing his family, I can’t imagine this particular information being that big of a deal, on the surface.
Has to be the part about not wanting to give Haney’s book any credibility along with probably not liking this particular reporter very much.
February 29th, 2012 at 1:48 PM
Serious ? – What’s the SEALs position on steroids and borderline steroids (like going overseas for treatments not allowed in the USA)?

I really think this is the main reason for all this….most people tent to remember being treated poorly…for a long time.
February 29th, 2012 at 2:13 PM
How do you get there from this clip if you didn’t already believe this? I believe this is what psychologists call the confirmation bias.
Tiger was as accommodating as you can be to someone who insists on repeatedly asking a sensational question that you’ve made it clear to him you’re not interested in answering just for the purpose of getting a reaction out of you.
February 29th, 2012 at 2:14 PM
going to the driving range at lunch and then having to come back to work is like having an aching case of blue balls.
February 29th, 2012 at 2:18 PM
I know no one likes to be treated rudely, but why should the average sports fan care how athletes treat media members? Many media members don’t seem to think twice about slamming athletes – they just don’t do it to their faces. I just get the sense that when media members paint athletes as “good guys” or “bad guys” it has a lot more to do with how much access the media gets rather than how the athletes actually treat others.

Alex Miceli is the assclown…http://vimeo.com/9538316…clearly a Tiger hater.

I’ll concede that Miceli is an assclown…..but Tiger is an asshole. they are made for each other.

Given the fact that it was the Seals who took out bin Laden, do you think for a minute that the most recognizable man on the planet wants that association made to the public?
Media types are really f^cking stupid.
