Two months late for “person of the year,” but I’m sure they could make an exception.

Brewster’s stepdaughter, Jessica Brewster, 25. She complained that her stepfather had threatened her and her boyfriend, Gregory Jones, 19.
Police found them outside the home with the stepdaughter’s children, ages 3 to 8.
Sounds like a nice family.

No mention of Indiana’s big win last night?

Anytime a ranked team gets worked by UGA in basketball you know their frauds. At least dawg fans got to chant “just like football!” this year.

Right, because they are both super fat.

Yes! My first roundup link! The Indiana HS Tournament started last night and even though the powers that be screwed things up year ago by going to class basketball, you still end up with great stuff. Gary Harris hit a half court shot at the buzzer in this game – 4 current Big Ten commits were playing and it was #1 v #3

If Mitt Romney’s wife is mad now, wait until he wins the nomination and the pres starts calling out his endless string of contradictions and flip-flops.
February 29th, 2012 at 8:45 AM
And as far as Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, if Kentucky wins the title, he’s gone. If not, I can see him coming back, like both Sullinger, Barnes, and even his teammate Terrance Jones, did last year. Anyone see the Jeff Goodman tweet this weekend regarding MKG and World Wide Wes?

“… basketball is on the prowl to become the most popular international sport over the next 20 years.”
No way it passes soccer/futbol in anyone’s lifetime who is alive now….
Also, I’m flabbergasted Scottt Parker was named the England Captain over Steven Gerrard, esp after just winning the Carling Cup at Wembley. England has to be the most overrated national team year in and year out. The English Football Association is a joke. Hoping RvP and Sneijder carve them up today.
Looking forward to seeing how Klinnsmann deploys Dempsey and Donovan today vs Italy. It is the first time they will play together under the new coach.

One reason I don’t like swimming in lakes.
I used to do triathlons and a week after doing one in Rutledge GA, I was doing another at Lake Lanier. There were rumors floating around Lanier that they had to do a “cottonmouth roundup” over a few days in Rutledge before letting us go. One rumor even suggested dynamite/small explosives which I didn’t really believe.
Glad I heard this after the fact.

First, that snake pictured isn’t a “poison” snake. Secondly, the snakes the guy had are venomous.

you’re forgiven. It was in an Orlando newspaper’s website, and it mentioned facebook “likes” as a piece of evidence.
Had you read it, you would only want to disparage it. I skimmed it, and as I did, it became clear that JMac read about half of the headline and linked it.

You’d be surprised how quickly they break down. I add tons of stuff to my composters and rarely are they completely full. The finished compost that you get is excellent. Granted buying a bag of compost is only like $2 but I feel good about making my own.
February 29th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
Should ‘near misses’ mean an actual hit?

That’s an annoyance of mine as well. Right up there with the “overrated” chant that I heard IU students chanting last night. Isn’t that saying you just beat a team that you’re admitting isn’t as good as everyone thought?
February 29th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
You’ve got to mix in some grass so it’s not just carbon in there. Household trash helps, but can take a bit longer than the clippings to degrade. Mix and water often.
Oh, and start small. I started with a huge pile, like 10′x4′, and it took a year and a half to break down.
February 29th, 2012 at 9:37 AM
Not sure if he was with Brandon Knight leaving last year and Terrance Jones staying, but I’d be Ray Charles if I didn’t think he plays a key role with some. And yes, Michael’s mom really said that. Funny thing is, if there was one guy who he has sure fire influence over, it would be him since he and his mom grew up together.

I am optimistic for the future. Next year with Powell coming back, Mickelson adding some weight and hopefully not fouling every time down the court, and Sanchez finally gone, they should make the tournament. the total lack of perimeter D makes them hard to watch this year though.

It’s the overzealous fans deflecting the chant from their own team, which can’t win anywhere outside of Bloomington. Hey, remember when IU won a ton of games at the beginning of the year? Yeah, then they went on the road.
IUBB fans get one good season for the first time in years and become insufferable douches. I’m not surprised. I grew up with IU fans. You should’ve been there in 2002. God.

I’m also interested in seeing him recruit against the school he left and I wonder if Frank Haith and Mizzou will be hit with any penalties over the ongoing investigation at Miami right now. Someone on his staff already cost Reggie Johnson a game.

All of this. I add kitchen scraps and coffee grounds all year. In the summer I bag grass every now and then and add that. Also add any plant clippings and stuff like that. In the fall comes the heavy dose of leaves. Typically I don’t have to water it much. Mixing it every week or so is essential. I enjoy composting way too much.

MLB.Tv charged me $24.99 last week, a day after I cancelled my subscription because I have no desire to watch spring training.
That irked me so I called them. The customer service number provided was for some other company who said they get a lot of calls about MLB digital services.
So then I emailed them last night. Waiting on a response.
All of this could’ve been avoided had they actually not automatically tried to renew my subscription after I selected back in October that I didn’t want them to.

the SEC needs Arkansas to be good at hoops again. this year was tough, they were down a scholly, then lost their best player 2 games in and were basically down to 9 healthy players most games. I hear you on those Ark-Ken games back in the day, it gives me chills thinking about some of those game I went to when I was in school.

How else do you think MLB got to be so lucrative in the online space?
Not by sitting around and hoping.

I don’t care that this says hockey is becoming more popular than basketball because it’s not like we don’t have that pointless debate enough. However, this part is pretty fascinating.
About to be more American born hockey players in the NHL.

No, but don’t fucking act like it’s beyond the realm of possibility.

Last year was an anomaly with extenuating circumstances. The NBA didn’t know if they were going to play. Why sit a year without getting paid when you can keep playing in college.
The 1 and done is still a fraud. Let kids that want to go pro, go pro. Kids that go to college should stay in college for at least 2, if not 3 years. There are a LOT of kids that don’t want to be in college, so get rid of the farce.

Can’t blame them. This site has document very well how horribly student athletes are treated.

Just googled Katie Cassidy.
1. No idea she is David Cassidy’s kid.
2. The round up pic is the WORST pic I saw of her in the image search I found.

If he doesn’t resign with the Phillies, it will be an all out bidding war for him. Dodgers, Cubs, Mets, Yanks, Red Sox, Marlins, Angels, Tigers would all be gunning for him. However, he has said that he doesn’t see himself anywhere else. $22-26 mil AAV can change that though…

I understand that, too. I have the NBA lockout to thank for Terrence Jones for returning his sophomore year. With that in mind, however, others declared early — Brandon Knight, Kyrie for instance — and it worked out just fine for them.
I’m just saying, MKG is more than likely gone, but let’s not act like a player returning for his sophomore year is such an “out there” idea.

Haha. I’ve said it before, but I really can’t stress enough how amazing of a life it is to be a college athlete.
February 29th, 2012 at 10:13 AM
That’s a lot of money. Cubs wouldn’t shell out that much at this stage of the plan. Those other teams sure would though. I can’t see him going to another NL East team like NYM or FLA. Tigers would be a really interesting place. He’d destroy that division and a 1-2 of JV and Hamels sounds filthy.

Well, dominant left-handed pitchers who will be 28 when they become a FA don’t come around that often. Especially those that have increased their GB% K/9, K/BB HR/FB and BB/9 the past three years. If he’s going anywhere besides Philly, I would think it would the Dodgers.

Really? I know this was just a little piece of the study, but any study that uses pretend play as a basis for its conclusion seems a little shady.

If so, just wait until you read about GM’s profits and the shenanigans the US Treasury are using for their investment. What a disgrace.
