Donald Driver, Maria Menounos, Martina Navratilova and Steve Urkel on Next Season of Dancing With The Stars
ABC has announced the lineup for season 14 of Dancing With The Stars. This season the sports world’s representatives will be Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver and women’s tennis legend Martina Navratilova. Patriots fan and noted bikini enthusiast, Maria Menounos will also participate. You can read the full cast list here, but all you really need to know is that Jaleel White is participating. He does the Urkel Dance for 10 consecutive weeks and there’s no one that can come close.

September can’t get here fast enough. Oh sweet sports, how I miss thee.

Even if I was the resident comedian of a sports blog, I’d probably get pretty hardcore into “less pop” sports like golf, soccer, I don’t know…baseball, maybe tell some spring training jokes.

I watch the majors in tennis and golf and we have Euro 12 in the summer as well as the olympics. Other than that I count down the days to CFB. The only good thing about baseball is it means we’re getting closer to football, although it’s a slow march to Sept for sure.

So Alfonso Ribiero is going to be on next season, right? Sure, doing The Carlton trounces The Urkel, but he’s got this experience in his back pocket.

Meh. There’s plenty to watch starting with March Madness in a couple of weeks. No football for a while tends to make me appreciate the months that it is here even more.

Yeah, I’m with you (minus the tennis)…my comment was directed more toward sports bloggers who only give a shit about sports in a tangential manner.
I’m in a season long golf pick ‘em with a pretty good potential payout. Talk about instigating my love/hate for golfers I never thought I’d care about. E.g. F you, Kevin Na.

Did somebody say ‘baseball jokes’?

I will be able to watch the tournament at work, so that’s nice. The tournament has lost so much luster for me as I’ve gotten older, though. I need to be in Vegas to love it like I did as a teenager.

Banned.

I haven’t yet made this pilgrimage but it will probably reinvigorate my attention to the tourney as well…at least to the betting side. I think so-called upsets are way overrated, so there’s my obvious aversion.

Agreed, I enjoy the sport as much as the next guy but 9 months of “I can’t wait for football” is one of the more beaten to death internet comments you’ll find
And maybe it’s a northern state thing but as we’re coming out of winter I’m in no hurry to have it be autumn again already…let’s play two!

Nah. TBL knows I love this blog…but that doesn’t mean I can’t complain about the quality of some of the posts in light of the fact the more technical, sports-centric posts about, you know, sports and/or the media are often fantastic, but occasionally get lost in the (raises fist over mouth, goes “ohhhhhh, damn, you see that?” posts.

You have to go for the first weekend. It’s…amazing. We were so into constantly betting that we started to put the over/under on women at the bar and would bet on them. Once we found the proper over/under, we went up and asked them to show us their ID. That shit was awesome.

Then Jonathan Silverman can come back to do the Bernie while Kirk Cameron shows up to do the Tebow.

Ugh. I am not looking forward to baseball season coming up seeing as I only care about one team, and that team is going to suck. I might have to try to get in to College Baseball; Arkansas’ is a top 5 team apparently.

All Menounos all the time, please.

I have friends that go & love it. Too many trips coming up this year to justify it.

I love college baseball. I’m going to Omaha if/when Auburn makes it back. Heard that was a great time.

I’d like to learn more about college baseball if anyone can recommend places where I can read about it. Watching more and reading more about minor league ball already and I’m really enjoying it.
