Albert Belle Has Not Aged as Gracefully as The Rest of the 90′s Indians
Albert Belle visited the Cleveland Indians at Spring Training today. Albert Belle retired 10 years ago. Albert Belle will be 46 in August. Albert Belle does not look like a guy who played during my lifetime. Just look at that picture of Belle with Sandy Alomar Jr. (45), Carlos Baerga (43), Mike Hargrove (62) and Kenny Lofton (44). Belle looks more likely to have played in Cleveland with Hargrove in the early 80′s than with those other guys in the 90′s.

Holy Shit, Joey.
February 28th, 2012 at 6:39 PM
Joey can golf.
February 28th, 2012 at 6:41 PM
Whoa. Get well soon Joey. I’m pretty sure Kenny could come play CF until Grady comes back.

Albert Belle, My Favorite Athlete of my Youth. From 92-late 90′s this guy was so many levels of badass too. Holy shit.
February 28th, 2012 at 6:42 PM
I’m still fucking furious that the O’s signed him.

Kenny Lofton had some ridiculous red Lamborghini (sic? sorry) with a 90 Feet license plate. He was all sorts of fucking awesome too. 95 Indians, Lofton, Vizquel, Thome, Manny, Belle, Eddie Murray, Dave Winfield, Baerga. Good god.

I call shenanigans.

Carlos Baerga looks like the white Sammy Sosa. And I think Cleveland sports fans of my generation can positively say that the 95 or 97 Indians were their favorite team of their youth. If not ever. Loved those guys.

The Albert Belle signing really was the best example of why the O’s have sucked for so long.

where is Paul Sorrento?
February 28th, 2012 at 6:57 PM
Actually we were looking for “The O’s are owned by Peter Angelos” as the best example of why the O’s have sucked for so long.
February 28th, 2012 at 7:06 PM
Well, of course. That’s what I mean, Belle was who Angelos wanted, that’s what I’m saying.
February 28th, 2012 at 7:19 PM
In!

Yeah, I’m not going that far.
February 28th, 2012 at 7:29 PM
Ok, I joined
February 28th, 2012 at 7:40 PM
I do two dedicated fantasy baseball leagues, don’t think I can add another.
February 28th, 2012 at 7:40 PM
Me too. Which reminds me I also have to pay MLB their freaking blood money for mlb.tv soon.
Belle should be in the Hall of Fame.
February 28th, 2012 at 7:56 PM
As do I. Wait, what’s that smell I’m picking up now?
February 28th, 2012 at 8:12 PM
And Manny had a crazy Gembala Porsche convertible that he seemed to have on autopilot as it circled the stadium.
God, I loved that team.
February 28th, 2012 at 8:22 PM
Where’s Jack Parkman?
February 28th, 2012 at 8:49 PM
As soon as Clyde Frazier and Keith Hernandez get a hold of Mr. Belle he’ll be right as rain.

Lofton is Snipes, Snipes is Lofton it’s uncanny.

Doing a little shimmy that make all the women of Cleveland want to puke
February 28th, 2012 at 9:17 PM
I want a Parkman White Sox jersey…heartbreaking loss in that ALCS, how was the pitcher supposed to know Cerrano was finally going to get a goddamn hit?
February 28th, 2012 at 9:23 PM
If you weren’t in the league last year, you can’t join now. I would like to if there are open spots.
February 28th, 2012 at 9:25 PM
been out of the mix for a few days. Good to be back. Can’t wait to go hard and at that fraud Ryan Braun tomorrow.
has Miggy been back? That guy quit?
February 28th, 2012 at 9:28 PM
See? Major League was so awesome that we’ve all seen Major League 2. That’s the sign of a great film.
February 28th, 2012 at 9:34 PM
Ditto. I cried in the RF bleachers the night that they clinched in 1995. The two nuns with the season tix next to us did as well. It was absolutely awesome. That year was a dream… until Glavine’s 42 inch strike zone in game 6.
February 28th, 2012 at 9:36 PM
God, I really fucking hated those Braves teams.
February 28th, 2012 at 9:36 PM
Wally
I think I opened up a couple spots by deleting teams from last year that have yet to sign up. Try again.
February 28th, 2012 at 9:43 PM
Miggy quit? Did I miss something in the afternoon? You mean Clown, right?
February 28th, 2012 at 10:03 PM
oh, not sure, Stark. Just been popping in the comments lately, haven’t seen him since that failed attempt by him trying to smear me on twitter.
February 28th, 2012 at 10:12 PM
In. Thanks Vladdy…
February 28th, 2012 at 10:53 PM
Clown/payaso/miggie smalls is definitely still around. I saw some magnificent Dwerick Rose fan trolling earlier today from him. ’twas possibly the funniest thing I read today, made memorable by a few people actually trying to engage him on the topic
February 29th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
Are they still paying him? Or is that Bobby Bonilla?
