Police In Riot Gear Called to Orlando Mall For NIKE Foamposite Release
People are idiots and Florida is full of crazy people. Add sneaker insanity to the mix and you end up with police in riot gear being called to an Orlando mall during the lead up to the release of some glow-in-the-dark Nikes. According to Twitter, the crowd “rushed police in riot gear.”
Mobs are one thing. Sneaker mobs are another. Nike needs to start making enough sneakers for everyone and stop releasing them at midnight. It’s not that the sneakers aren’t worth it, it’s just that they should protect people from themselves as a public service.

What the hell happened at the end of that Jeremy Lin thread from last night?

the generic term I use for the type of footwear in question is tennis shoes. I don’t think I’ve ever said the word “sneaker” unless it’s in the contesxt of this type of conversation.

Income inequality and how people choose to spend that income are really two separate issues entirely. As professional athletes and entertainers have shown time and time again. You can go broke on 30k a year and you can go broke on 30 million a year, whether you’re a teacher or M.C. Hammer.

Before the days of online ticketing and TicketMaster, I took part in one of the last great ticket line camp outs. I was 18 and thought I was bad as hell. Great times. Anybody remember Ticket Tron?
