Ballin’: Here Are All of Kevin Durant’s 51 Points, Russell Westbrook’s 40 Points and Serge Ibaka’s 11 Blocks in a Win Over the Nuggets
Oklahoma City 124, Denver 118, OT: Kevin Durant scored 51 points (watch all of them above) and Russell Westbrook added 40 (watch all of them below) as the Thunder prevailed. If those two didn’t do it for you, Serge Ibaka’s triple-double (14 points, 15 rebounds, 11 blocks) might. Yup, all of his blocks are below, too. Durant’s dunk in the closing seconds sent the game to OT. At 24-7, the Thunder are the best in the West.
Boston 81, Detroit 96: The Pistons won their third in a row, and beat the Celtics for the second time in five nights. Detroit’s only 11-22, but February has been a good month – the Pistons are 7-3. Boston, which was without KG (family issue) and lost Rajon Rondo to an ejection, fell to 16-16, and is now tied with the Knicks in the Atlantic. Remember when I said the Knicks would be fine, and you scoffed? Thanks, Jeremy Lin! Love you, man!
Philadelphia 91, Minnesota 92: Yeah, the 76ers got jobbed on a late foul call that led to Kevin Love’s game-winning free throws. Oh well! The 76ers have lost six of 10 and their lead over the Knicks has shrunk to just four games. Ricky Rubio, since you love him: 22 points, six rebounds, five assists. Oh, and the Love/Pekovic combo continues to own the interior – 37 points, 24 rebounds.
Indiana 108, Charlotte 73: The Bobcats fell behind 21-2 and never recovered. How big of a blowout was this? I don’t play the +/- game often, but Roy Hibbert (18 points, 14 rebounds) was +43 and DJ Augustin (3-for-12) was -44.
Cleveland 93, Sacramento 92: Kyrie Irving, still your leader for Rookie of the Year, calmly sank two free throws with less than a second left as JJ Hickson’s old team beat JJ Hickson’s new team. JJ Hickson wasn’t really a factor in 16 minutes for the Kings (0-3 shooting). Jimmer only played four minutes, but he was able to jack three shots and commit two fouls. The other rookie guard the Kings drafted, Isaiah Thomas, started and played 42 minutes and scored 23 points to go with 11 assists.

Before you complain: Yes, Kobe gets his own post.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
Before you complain:
so can i go now, or what?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:29 AM
the reason I ask is because this post is terrible, and Kobe isn’t mentioned enough.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:31 AM
No mention of the Lakers getting handled in Phoenix and then Kobe crying to Mitch?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:31 AM
Nobody reads the comments.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:32 AM
Okay then.

Eat shit Pistons.

Okay then.that was satireFebruary 20th, 2012 at 11:33 AM
The NBA hasn’t found a way to declare Lin a rookie yet?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:35 AM
Starting your franchise today and you get to pick one, who you got… Lin, Irving, or Rubio?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:36 AM
Durant had 5 turnovers to 3 assists. I was led to believe that meant his game was shitty.
Also, no Kobe in Ballin’!?!?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:36 AM
Depends if I am going for wins or sizzle.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:38 AM
On a scale of Broussard to Woj, how reliable is Chris Sheridan? Should I even pay attention to a Carlos Boozer for Pau Gasol rumor? I’m guessing I shouldn’t.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:40 AM
Kyrie, but only because I prefer my racist jokes to be of the fried chicken variety rather than egg rolls or rice-n-beans.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:40 AM
Irving. Anyone that says otherwise writes for Christ Wire.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:40 AM
and they couldn;t get just 2 more for me. i had okc m8

Boozer and Noah? Boozer, Gibson and a pick?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:41 AM
Is Gar Forman wearing a ski mask and does he have a gun?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:42 AM
It’s apparently straight up. There’s also a Orlando, Houston and Lakers rumor floating around too. This is why I’m skeptical.

if only Rubio could shoot it. Ricky Rubio, a 3 pointer from the Tapas-of-the-Key
February 20th, 2012 at 11:42 AM
More reliable than Chris Broussard but less reliable than Stephen A. Hope that helps.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:42 AM
a Carlos Boozer for Pau Gasol rumor?
the original rumor came from a psanish language media outlet/paper
anyway, kobe’s part japanese right? was there ever a controversy over his asianness?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
kobe’s part japanese right?
no. He’s a black person.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
soft for soft, boozer for gasol, to gasol will score more no?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:43 AM

I think you are confusing him with Tiger but who could blame you. They all look alike.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:44 AM

February 20th, 2012 at 11:47 AM

February 20th, 2012 at 11:47 AM
Would there be two better interior passer’s in the league than Gasol and Noah?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:48 AM
Gasol scores inside and plays d, two things boozer can’t do.
I would rather they gave magic all that for DHoward
February 20th, 2012 at 11:48 AM
I don’t even think thats possible. Gasol makes 18 million. Boozer is around 12. I am sure the Lakers would actually listen if Watson was involved.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:49 AM
Someone fill me in on this christwire thing?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:50 AM
religious news network?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:51 AM
I doubt the Lakers would trade for anyone with a longer contract than Gasol. They’d only do it to save money and years.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:52 AM

Tiger’s part Flippy.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:54 AM
bosh is a good passer matty, especially the times when he doesn;t want to shoot
/hes having a good year tho
February 20th, 2012 at 11:54 AM
Can you amnesty a player acquired through trade or do you have to be the team that signed him to the contract?
February 20th, 2012 at 11:54 AM
The Lakers or the Bulls? I think the Lakers might be able to get away with sending just Bynum and some spare parts and maybe a draft pick or two for Dwight. I think that would still be better than most anything any other team could give up for DH12. If Bynum stays healthy, he’s the 2nd best center in the league, right? Big IF I know.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:55 AM
Fuck Boozer, I will quit the Lakers if they make that trade
February 20th, 2012 at 11:55 AM
You can amnesty a player acquired through trade. But I think that was only good for this year.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:56 AM
Ricochet – it’s a site owned by the Onion.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:56 AM
The Lakers should be shopping for a PG. Plain and simple. Even if a Bynum/Howard swap was made they are still not going far in the playoffs.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:56 AM
I agree, but if said trade for Boozer and Gasol went through, which none of us think will, and putting those two together (Gasol and Noah) – I don’t think there would be a better interior passing tandem in the league.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:57 AM
Kane for Miller is morel logical.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:57 AM
Irving, Rubio, Lin (right now, subject to change, of course)
February 20th, 2012 at 11:57 AM
I blame the upstart porn industry in the greater Phoenix area for the loss last night…
February 20th, 2012 at 11:57 AM
Thanks chief. Honestly hadn’t heard of it until I saw people talking about it this morning.
February 20th, 2012 at 11:58 AM
Those condom laws in LA are BULLSHIT
February 20th, 2012 at 12:00 PM
CJ Watson would be difficult to part with. Mike James is the only other back-up PG right now and Derrick’s back is still an issue. Without Rose, they are fucked anyways, but I’m not sure if having Mike James on the 2nd unit is something the Bulls can roll with. Watson adds important bench points.
A starting five of Noah, Gasol, Lu, Rip and the MVP is pretty tantalizing though.
February 20th, 2012 at 12:01 PM
healthy rip you mean, we haven’t seen enoug this year to know if even a 100% rip will help, or if this is 100% rip….as healthy as he’ll get, which is on and off
February 20th, 2012 at 12:02 PM
Being rid of Boozer’s enormous contract is actually the most beneficial part of the trade for Chicago.
February 20th, 2012 at 12:03 PM
a Carlos Boozer for Pau Gasol rumor?
where are you guys hearing this bullshit? I don’t even think that Dr. Buss’s kids are this stupid…
/crosses fingers
February 20th, 2012 at 12:03 PM
Deron Williams for Pau Gasol? The salaries match. Or are the Nets banking on keeping Deron in hopes of luring Dwight? Either way a Gasol and Lopez front court wouldn’t be tough, but wouldn’t be bad either.
Nets are screwed if Dwight gets traded or signs elsewhere and then Deron walks. Hell… when haven’t the Nets been screwed. Nevermind. Kerry Kittles isn’t walking through that door.
February 20th, 2012 at 12:09 PM
Any talk of him being amnestied at the end of the year? Not sure what kind of contract Kris Humphries would ask for at the end of the year, but say Chicago signs him to replace Boozer. Would they have enough cap space to make a run at someone like Eric Gordon, who if I’m not mistaken, was Derrick Rose’s high school AAU teammate?
February 20th, 2012 at 12:12 PM
I think the Lakers should just be shopping for a decent point guard. Their strength is Gasol/Bynum. Why weaken that? They should just flip Phoenix a 1st round pick for Aaron Brooks when he comes back.
February 20th, 2012 at 12:13 PM
here’s the deal with who broke the rumor and who else would go from the bulls
February 20th, 2012 at 12:14 PM
Kris Humphries
he lights up the UC
February 20th, 2012 at 12:17 PM
Kobe for Deron Williams. Boom. Done. Next.
February 20th, 2012 at 12:20 PM
It would take a team as desperate as the Nets to ever get someone to take on Kobes massive contract. Maybe the Lakers could get Jordan Farmar back as well!
February 20th, 2012 at 12:20 PM
Why a post? Didn’t you know everyone has off today?
