TCU Drug Scandal: Arrested Football Players Claim “About 60 People” Might Have Failed Feb. 1 Drug Test
Gary Patterson came out with strong statements about how student-athlete drug use “will not be tolerated” by himself or any member of the coaching staff. It looks like he will receive the opportunity to translate those words into action. If the players involved are to be believed, the TCU football drug culture could extend far beyond the four players arrested.
In Tanner Brock’s arrest affidavit, Brock and fellow arrested player Tyler Horn discussed a surprise drug test given to the team on Feb. 1. Brock claimed he was not worried about faiing because there “would be about 60 people being screwed.” Horn purportedly estimated just 20 players on the team would have passed the drug test.
I then began talking to Brock about the drug test, saying that it was “bullshit.” Brock said the staff surprised the team with the test. I asked if Brock was going to be ok. Brock responded, “I failed that bitch for sure.” Brock said that he wasn’t too worried about it and didn’t think it would be a big deal cause there “would be about 60 people being screwed.” Brock said that his friend Ty (Ty Horn) looked through the roster today and said that there were only 20 people that would pass the test on the team.
The Horned Frogs open with a soft matchup against Grambling State at home next year. That may be a blessing for them.

75% seems normal for drug use amongst college students and if they’re college students why is this a story?

I had to take a drug test in college to get a job at a grocery store, and this was before they made you empty your pockets so I took in a vile of some piss coverup and knew I was golden walking into it. I took about 5 bong rips, walked in and couldn’t piss, not a drop. I sat there completely ripped for about an hour until I could go in and squeeze out as much as I needed, added the cover-up and it turned the piss neon orange. I shrugged, took it to the nurse and all she said was “you are really dehydrated”. and yet I still passed. and worked every day at that grocery store high as shit.

February 15th, 2012 at 2:45 PM
just imagine Jimmy Johnson or Dennis Erickson on some of those Miami teams having to walk in there and give some tests. I imagine times were a little different back then. or shit, OU’s coach with Bozworth or Mich. St. with Manderich. granted it was roids, but same difference.
February 15th, 2012 at 2:45 PM
Not sure if this was covered above or not but rumor out here is that some football recruit chose to go to some other school over TCU because of the drug culture at TCU and with the football team. So Patterson gave the random drug test that day, signing day, and, well, whoops.
February 15th, 2012 at 2:45 PM
Would’ve been a lot more bad-ass if you had aced it.
February 15th, 2012 at 2:45 PM
First year home from grad school I was working as a cook at Ruth’s Chris and got fired three weeks before going back to school. So I had to get another job. Got a landscaping job lined up through my mom’s friend and then had to take a piss test. I wasn’t expecting to get fired so I had smoked the weekend before. I drank a gallon of pure cranberry juice which is WRETCHED, not the sugary stuff, just pulverized cranberries. I couldn’t piss though and when I went in to the room to piss I took a ‘uuuuuuge cranberry and Mexican food shit then went back in to the waiting room for an hour to try and again and laughed my ass off watching all the temp workers fiending for rock go in there and wretch.

February 15th, 2012 at 2:57 PM
I know a guy that was working the afternoon shift at an oil refinery and was called in the morning to say he was getting tested when he came in. His boss basically told him if you don’t think you can pass then just call in sick and don’t come in, his boss was warning him and telling him it was cool that he smoked really. So what happens? He takes some masking thing like an hour before the test and goes in and fails and gets fired. Hilarious.

February 15th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
If it were up to me, the only reason I would ever drug test someone is if I wanted to fire them but couldn’t come up with a good enough reason (for legal purposes). I was use the piss test as a shot-in-the-dark attempt to fire them with cause. Otherwise, I wouldn’t give a shit what they do as long as they get their shit done correctly.

You can’t do that with places that use heavy equipment though… liability and whatnot. You can’t have a dude who’s a great worker show up high one day and crash the forklift into some hydrochloric acid tank. You have to be able to at least show you tried to prevent something like that from happening, lest you be sued out your ass if someone got hurt.

You would have had to see it happen. He did not react well to smoking. He eventually had a nervous breakdown or something crazy when 1) he informed me and my GF (now wife) that he was bisexual (he’s not at all, it was just on this day), 2) he became completely convinced that everything written on uncyclopedia.com was 100% true, and 3) was convinced that a branch of the FBI was after him and would bust in and murder him, among other things. Me and a couple other close friends had to watch him for 48 hours while he stayed off weed to make sure he came off the crazy. He’s never quite been the same guy since.
/to be fair to marijuana, I’m convinced that the stuff he was smoking for the days prior was laced with something.
//one of the most insane things I’ve ever witnessed/experienced

if i had to describe the 10 minutes of my most memorable trip, it’d probably be 2,500 words long.

I remember the first time I took acid it was incredible. I had boundless energy and could drink forever. Then I passed out, and when I woke up I felt okay. When I was in Germany, a friend and I did shrooms, smoked has and drank milk schnapps. We saw dinosaurs on the ceiling. Good times.

It was the only place I have ever seen it. Of course, this was 88 so they might not make it anymore.

I rarely smoked weed in school. Never enjoyed it. I heavily consumed in alcohol and tobacco.
