Chicago Cubs to Move Some Home Games to the White Sox Park in 2013?
The Chicago Cubs are in the midst of discussing a massive renovation for their rapidly decaying stadium, the one that Peter Gammons appropriately referred to as an unlivable dump. Said renovations would take place during the 2013 season. If the elaborate plans are to go through, and there’s really no reason they shouldn’t, sources have indicated to NBC Chicago that the always-adorable Cubs could move their home games to the inviting confines of U.S. Cellular Field on the south side of the city. It’s times like these where Ozzie Guillen’s presence is sorely missed.
While a spokesman for the Ricketts family swiftly denied there was a “done deal,” he certainly didn’t quell the idea completely, choosing instead to turn the conversation to securing the necessary funds for an overhaul.
However, according to NBC Chicago, some employees at U.S. Cellular stated they have been “warned of a much busier 2013 season.” Given some of the disgraceful things we’ve seen take place in and around that stadium without the added presence of their crosstown rival, the Cubs might be better off hosting their home games in Frank Gallagher’s backyard. Safety first.

Yeah the White Sox would pass up the chance to make some money. I’m sure they would get some compensation for this if it happened.

Nash on the block.
Taking on that contract isn’t worth it, unless you are sending back some big ticket items (which I don’t think CBJ wants).

Well the cell will get some sell outs regularly next year if true.
It’s funny that Cubs will be playing at the cell an d creating a ball park more family friendly and larger for attendance.
Way to cut your own throat Reinsdorf.

No. And there is a zero percent chance he’s moved to a division rival (ignoring re-alignment).
