Bill Belichick’s Golf Getup Obviously Featured a Hoodie With the Sleeves Cut Off
Patriots coach Bill Belichick has been playing as the amateur partner of PGA golfer Ricky Barnes at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament this weekend. Considering the storied coach is just six days removed from a crushing Super Bowl loss, it was impressive to see him hit the links and chat with the media, but then again he did say Pebble Beach is the perfect place to help take your mind off things.
Most impressive, however, was the decision to golf in his signature sideline attire. A Pebble Beach hoodie with the sleeves cut off at the forearm is certainly a wonderful change of pace for the stuffy golf crowd, though in this case his sleeves appear to be tailored. Probably a course requirement.
Belichick and Barnes are currently in a tie for seventh place heading into today’s final round. I’m guessing his buddy Nick Saban will be cheering him on with great vigor. Here’s a clip of the two maestros chatting it up with Jim Nantz following yesterday’s round.

Rodney Harrison is PISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSED
February 12th, 2012 at 12:58 PM
Oh Bill. If you hadn’t broken my heart, I’d admire you in ways only stalkers could.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:11 PM
fantastic.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:14 PM
How does this work? I turned on the coverage 10 minutes ago hoping to get a glimpse of him. Theyve only showed real golfers so far. Do they play at the same time, or later?
February 12th, 2012 at 1:17 PM
Oh, they showed Romo! Come on, gimme some Bill.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:24 PM
They play at the same time but almost never show them. You can often see their ball markers, balls, etc on the greens, their caddies….
Charlie Wi bitched out and doubled the first hole. Ryan Moore who’s a great pre-cut but pedestrian weekend player, is having the best round of the day.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:25 PM
Playing good golf in a hoodie is an amazing feat. Bill probably does everything in a hoodie though.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:46 PM
What?!?!? No Tiger talk yet? He’s only 2 shots back from the leader! ESPN, Sportsline and CNNSI should update their main home page with this breaking news!

February 12th, 2012 at 1:56 PM
Phil just knocked in another birdie. Tiger threw up all over from 100 yards out on 4.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:58 PM
I know, it was sweet to watch. My daughter just walked in the room and asked why I was watching golf, I said “to see Tiger to fail”. She said, “Oh” and walked out.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:58 PM
The Sky Sports guys are pretty good today. I have no idea who they have on the Golf Channel feed.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:59 PM
Streelman 5 birdies and a bogey in 7 holes.
February 12th, 2012 at 1:59 PM
tiger’s gonna win eventually…might as well be today. he’s been playing well.
February 12th, 2012 at 2:04 PM
Sweet shot by Phil at the flag on 5, within 3 feet of the pin. Tiger, nice shot, by a a few more feet back on the slope. let’s hope for a par for Mrs. Uchitel
February 12th, 2012 at 2:04 PM
I hate Tiger, but he walked off 4 not pouting like a little bitch. For him, that’s a major step forward. He really took the “woe is me, I was robbed, pinches forehead, stares at the sky” routine after all missed putts to a new level the last 18 months, where old Tiger would just seethe, march to the next hole and stripe a tee shot. He pulled this some in that middle east event. So if he can channel that old Tiger mojo then maybe he can win.
February 12th, 2012 at 2:06 PM
Phil!
February 12th, 2012 at 2:13 PM
Tiger really aggressive with his pace. In the day he was the King of Comeback putts. Looks confident. Phil on fire to start. Phil turned the corner and now plays well instead of poorly when paired with Woods.

February 12th, 2012 at 2:35 PM
what channel is golf on?
February 12th, 2012 at 2:37 PM
None right now but will be back on at 3 on CBS. You can watch the golf channel they will give updates and highlights till 3.
February 12th, 2012 at 2:39 PM
found it on golf channel, woods just gave romo instruction on birdie putt an romo drained it.

February 12th, 2012 at 2:47 PM
phil is on fire…tiger needs the putter to heat up.
February 12th, 2012 at 2:48 PM
i think they mentioned it on golf central, but being worried about a bad stretch from phil is pointless. he’s always been just as liable to miss the cut as win any week.
February 12th, 2012 at 2:49 PM
Doesn’t it bug the shit out of anyone that when they show the list of scores, Tiger is listed ahead of anyone else, even when his score is the same & he’s a couple of holes back AND sometimes even when the other player)s) are in the clubhouse?
February 12th, 2012 at 2:54 PM
What did Tiger tell Romo?
“8-1 During a stipulated round, a player must not:
a) give advice to anyone in the competition playing on the course other than his partner, or
b) ask for advice from anyone other than his partner or either of their caddies.”
February 12th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
They are on the same team they can exchange advice. Woods can ask Romo for reads if he wants.
February 12th, 2012 at 2:59 PM
scripty-
Romo is tiger’s partner
February 12th, 2012 at 3:00 PM
F B10 bball get this shit off so I can watch some real sport
February 12th, 2012 at 3:00 PM
not really. he’s one of the top 5 golfers ever to play the game and the only one with a realistic shot at breaking the all time major records. 70+ pga wins and 14 majors gets the nod over everyone else.
doc’s right on the rules about advice.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
warmed my heart to hear that.
/high five
February 12th, 2012 at 3:01 PM
I had no idea about the pro am partners sorry. I dont think Tiger’s ever been wrong on a rule violation though, he knows every damn technicaltiy.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:06 PM
nobody’s ever wrong on rules violations unless they get caught…i remember charl schwartzel taking the most absurd drop ive ever seen at last year’s memorial. had a “sprinkler head in his way” takes the ball out of the rough, and drops it in the fringe. total garbage.
2009 scottsdale, kenny perry BLATANTLY improved his lie. in the 2008 ryder cup, anthony kim got so pissed that sergio was taking a bullshit drop, he stormed off and just said “do whatever you need to do, man.” camilo didn’t take a penalty when he cheated until he was caught afterwards and in this year’s event at kapalua, watney bitched and moaned to not take a penalty even tho he brushed the green.
i still loved it when tiger got the crowd to move the boulder for him…fucking hysterical.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:07 PM
game is over, take it off, no one in chicago gives a shit about illini
February 12th, 2012 at 3:09 PM
camilo’s bs was last year’s event when someone called in…my mistake.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:09 PM

Sky SPorts going strong on the feed here.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:13 PM
charl schwartzel and keegan bradley both lost leads in majors last year in the final round and ended up winning. some flimsy anecdotal evidence you had there, brandel.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:16 PM
im rooting for tiger to come back beastmode just to shut brandel the fuck up.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:18 PM
It’d be nice for Phil to win to just get up the ladder for the Ryder Cup. Granted, he plays like shit in the Ryder Cup but I guess I’d rather have him than Wilson or Crane.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:20 PM
Go Phil!
/sun devil’d
February 12th, 2012 at 3:22 PM
agreed…it kinda sucks because the only guys that can hit the shots from where phil hits are phil and tiger. fuck it…put em together.
us should be decent…for the standings as they are, we bring bombers all around. bubba, DJ, stanley, garrigus, keegan bradley and phil and now tiger’s bombing it again and he’s almost guaranteed to go. granted, that’s the top 12 and there are captains picks, but whoa…
sucks the euros are fucking loaded. it could be over quickly.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:25 PM
add in olazabal as the captain and darren clarke being a darkhorse captains pick…euro ryder team fear factor: 10/10.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:28 PM
tig daddy’s getting lapped by mickeltits.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:28 PM
Stanley and Bradley will be nice additions. Tiger, Phil. Stricker, Snedeker – probably DJ and Watney – that’s 8. Probably a few bombers like Bubba, Woodland? – then you have Kim, and some guy like Dufner or somebody else could sneak on that you dont expect. David Toms is still out there. We need the big guns to bring it at the majors for double points. I think the worst thing for USA is Sergio finding his form. But I think the USA will be pretty good. In the end your ride 6 hot players alot.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:28 PM
tiger fading
February 12th, 2012 at 3:31 PM
I predict that if Woodland can get on the team he’ll be paired with Tiger. Steinberg/Nike boys play a lot together. Good mix too.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:31 PM
Whitney Houston daughter taken to hospital, police report
February 12th, 2012 at 3:31 PM
mahan’s proven and webb simpson is right on the cusp of elite too.
ryder cup sergio is a handful…him and rory haven’t been on the same team together, i don’t think. add luke donald, westwood, kaymer, bjorn, jacobson…there are going to be some guys left off the euro team that would wipe the floor with the US captain’s picks.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:32 PM
woodland’s a wildcard…he could be a force paired with stricker in alternate shot and someone like snedeker or phil, who make a ton of birdies in best ball.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:33 PM
Tiger’s just going to take one off the cliffs here. Phil shoves that comeback in and Tiger misses.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:34 PM
phil with his length and the fact his miss is left is at a huge advantage on this upcoming stretch. must help having your back to the ocean too…
February 12th, 2012 at 3:47 PM
At least Tiger doesn’t look as bad as William Buford and Deshaun Thomas did last night.
February 12th, 2012 at 3:51 PM
This is bullshit that they dont show any of the celebs golfing. Perhaps another channel couldve gotten coverage for just that.
I just found out Whitney Houston was dating Ray J? Ew. That seems molest-y.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:00 PM
Saturday is the day for the celebs on Sunday it is back to the professionals.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:03 PM
Tiger needs to start driving better get better or it will be exposed. He’d kill at tracks now like Riviera, Harbour Town and Colonial b/c he’s the best iron player but he doesn’t play them.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:08 PM
id be all for him playing there instead of playing at long, straight boring courses like doral, firestone and, to a less boring extent, torrey pines. if only doral and firestone’s events weren’t WGC’s…riviera and colonial rawk.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:14 PM
kevin streelman’s annual appearance on a leaderboard is as good a reason as any to post this.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:14 PM
I hate Feherty but he just said “Wi started like a 30-year old lawnmower but he’s running fine now”
February 12th, 2012 at 4:16 PM
nice sandy tiger.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:17 PM

February 12th, 2012 at 4:18 PM
holy shit phil…damn, fired up.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:19 PM
What an epic exchange.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:36 PM
i didn’t know lehmann had such a skin condition. amazinf we haven’t seen more golfers have skin cancer
February 12th, 2012 at 4:37 PM
did he say committment to philandering?
February 12th, 2012 at 4:39 PM
commitment to full-on-rap-ey.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:50 PM
Have the corporate overlords not explained to the TBL staff that the way to get hits for golf pages is to put “Tiger” in every headline?
Lefty showed up today. Tigers seems to have wrenched his wrist on that massive divot he took out a couple of holes ago.
Still, I’m pulling for Wi.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:52 PM
Vez, I dined next to his table at Harbor Town a few years ago. I didn’t know he was bald until I saw him without his hat on. He had that amazing pro golfer’s “tan face, blindingly white head” condition.
February 12th, 2012 at 4:54 PM
He had that amazing pro golfer’s “tan face, blindingly white head” condition.
farmer’s tan!
February 12th, 2012 at 4:59 PM
They have that tan line running across their foreheads. You’d think they’d invest in some spray-on for the cranial area to even it out.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:00 PM
Rory S. had skin cancer and thats why he wears a very wide brimmed hat. I think Tom Kite did too. There’s been a number of them.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:01 PM
Tiger doesn’t play there for the same reason most of the top names don’t. It’s the week after The Masters. But that’s the reason I always went. Everyone’s exhaling, it’s relaxed, good mood. Like a genteel version of the Phoenix Open, with cocktails instead of keggers.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:02 PM
I remember thinking he always looked like a burn victim, his skin was so gnarled by the sun.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:02 PM
The first time I saw Furyk without his hat was jarring.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:04 PM
/pulls hat down
//pulls sleeves lower
///wishes i didn’t wear flip flops
February 12th, 2012 at 5:05 PM
I’m getting a little thin on top. The first time you go out and get sun burned through your fading hair is straigh-up humiliating.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:06 PM
and the LPGA girls have worse skin than the men. And don’t even start with the caddies.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:08 PM
Not to mention painful when you comb what’s left of it the next morning.
I love Julie Inkster, but more sunscreen would have been a good idea for her.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:09 PM
Just got HD cable a couple of weeks ago. Golf in HD is the most amazing thing ever.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:13 PM
Holy Shit!!!! Phil from deep!!!! must have been a 35-40ft putt for par. wow.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:14 PM
……and then Tiger follows that up with choking on a 3ft putt.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:18 PM
I hardly think you can call Pebble Beach stuffy when Bill Murray is twirling around in the traps.
TBL really needs to find a golf aficionado on his staff to write about golf, like Duffy with soccer. Or hire one.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:19 PM
SG wants this whole thread evacuated and exterminated by the open of business tomorrow.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:20 PM
This was always the moment in a tournament that Lefty was leading that I’d start thinking, “When do we see the Phil moment?” In other words, the boneheaded, showboat shot that left you scratching your head.
Don’t see it that much anymore, as he’s gotten older and presumably wiser. For a moment there, when he pulled out his driver just now, I thought we might have one.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:21 PM
they don’t make tiger’s shoes in anything but white?
February 12th, 2012 at 5:22 PM
No. Occupy TBL! Only comments about Craig James and one-hit wonders allowed!
February 12th, 2012 at 5:23 PM
DL3 found Tiger and told him to give up and just battle for Ryder Cup points.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:24 PM
That’s a good one, Scripty.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:26 PM
What a shot by Wi.
“I can do that but I don’t wanna.”
February 12th, 2012 at 5:27 PM
Oops. Meant:
“I can do that but I don’t wanna.”
February 12th, 2012 at 5:28 PM
phil’s always had every shot in the bag…it’s way more fun when he picks the right ones.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:29 PM
I learned to play out of the sand solely by watching Lefty on TV when I first started.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:29 PM
lol @ 93
February 12th, 2012 at 5:31 PM
Hey, Clint, why ain’t you in Detroit, shilling for GM and telling Asian-Americans to get off your lawn?
February 12th, 2012 at 5:33 PM
oh he’s sick…the thump sound he makes is textbook.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:34 PM
Tiger got exposed in every way today. Shameful 4th round display. If this was 4 years ago and the roles were reversed, Phil would have to hide for a month to avoid the media raping he’d be getting.
Phil is in Tiger’s head.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:36 PM
granted…phil played lights out today. really impressive…this is more about phil dominating than tiger losing. even tiger at his best would’ve been hard pressed to keep up with that.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:38 PM
Wow. That’s more damning about Tiger’s current state than anything else I could think of. Who’d a thunk it a couple of years ago?
February 12th, 2012 at 5:39 PM
Yeah but they were in the same group. Wi had choked. It was essentially a match play and he got WORKED. Phil played great. I don’t even mean to be liberal about it but he’s owned Tiger in heads-up play for like 4 years now. I think it was a Boston tourney, then in Shanghai, and since then…
Tiger’s overall game is not World Class (yet) this year.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:41 PM
yep. wish they’d do it in a major.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:42 PM
The talk earlier of Harbour Town earlier brought to mind the most hideous championship jacket in existence, which then brought to mind Norm Sloan in his Florida days.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:44 PM
tartan jacket, green jacket…who gives a shit?
February 12th, 2012 at 5:46 PM
And by “Florida,” I of course meant “NC State.”
February 12th, 2012 at 5:47 PM
At Augusta, I believe you’re not allowed to take your jacket off the premises. At Harbour Town, I believe they burn the new winner’s jacket immediately after he takes it off.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:48 PM
Fuck “the Grammys tonight!” It’s all Walking Dead tonight.
The Grammys are going to turn into a Whitney memorial wankfest, anyway.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:49 PM
i want this year’s harbour town winner to wear plaid pants…DOUBLE PLAID.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:49 PM
Current Augusta champion is the only person who can take jacket it off grounds. That’s why there was that photo of Phil buying Krispy Cremes in it 2 years ago and Charl w/ Rory last year.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:50 PM
Winner of Harbour Town wear pants with like stripes or polka dots, so when they get the plaid jacket its double hideous.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:54 PM
This.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:56 PM
Nah, Daly normally doesn’t play Harbour Town.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:57 PM
OH MY GOD…id double the winner’s check out of my own pocket to see that.
February 12th, 2012 at 5:59 PM
“Hey, everybody! We’re all gonna get laid!”
February 12th, 2012 at 6:01 PM
ive seen caddyshack god knows how many times and it still cracks me up.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:05 PM
Caddyshack was Dangerfield’s greatest moment.
It’s one of those movies that seem to get better every time I watch it, like The Big Lebowski or Shaun of the Dead.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:06 PM
i think it might be chevy chase’s fineset moment too. def one of bill murray’s.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:12 PM
Outside of Vacation and Fletch, Chevy doesn’t have much else to look back on. Maybe Foul Play.
Murray by far has had the best career of any former SNLer. Damn, now I want to watch Zombieland again.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:14 PM
“Any regrets?”
“Garfield, maybe.”
February 12th, 2012 at 6:15 PM
Lefty is 40 and has 41 PGA wins?
February 12th, 2012 at 6:16 PM
I used to think Tiger would catch Snead for career wins, but I don’t see it anymore.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:18 PM
Interesting day when a golf post attracts far more comments than anything else on TBL.
Even Eifling wrote a good piece today. It’s like Bizarro Jerry today.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:27 PM
Not a golf scene, but “Hey! You scratched my anchor!” Gets me every time.
February 12th, 2012 at 6:38 PM
if tiger starts winning like he used to, he could do it…he’s only 12 back.
god damn was snead great tho.
February 12th, 2012 at 8:09 PM
Tiger will get 12. I hate him but that should not a problem. His tee shots and putting were mixed at best this week and he contended.
February 12th, 2012 at 8:26 PM
tiger looked and sounded beat after the round. you could hear how he was talking about phil and his body language that he knew he got straight up whooped today. had a faraway look in his eye.
February 12th, 2012 at 9:26 PM
Didn’t realize Tigers was already at 70 wins.
Then yes, he’ll catch Slammin’ Sammy.
Fuck, will someone shoot Shane already?
