Crazy stuff at Rutgers-Newark last night:
Last night, Tuesday, Feb. 7, Rutgers-Newark campus police received information from University of South Dakota authorities that led them to search the room of a Rutgers-Newark student. This operation was conducted along with the Essex County Bomb Squad and the Newark Police Special Operations Division. The teams found potentially dangerous materials in the student�s room and removed the materials. Subsequently students from University Square, Woodward Hall and Talbott Hall were evacuated.

The student whose room contained potentially dangerous materials was arrested on multiple charges.

Another evacuation of University Square was ordered a short while ago. The FBI is now involved with this matter. FBI officials informed Rutgers-Newark today that a potentially hazardous substance that would not have been detected by the squads last night should be further investigated.
