Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Poses for Photo With a Zooey Deschanel Figurine
The beauty of wonderfully awkward photos such as the one we have here of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Zooey Deschanel is not only the pleasure we gain from taking in said awkwardness, but the memories it sparks of similarly humorous photos from the past.
Some classic duos that immediately come to mind to are Shaquille O’Neal staring at a sheepish Earl Boykins, Manute Bol and Muggsy Bogues, David Stern and anyone at the NBA Draft, and of course, Dikembe Mutombo and a slew of women under four feet tall at the White House.
I’m just not sure anyone will ever manage to top a saggy-boobed, unenthused Shaq carrying his Hoopz doll around in a pair of jorts and slippers.

2 clicks to get a slightly larger picture. Well you got my nickel.

Kareem will turn 65 in a couple of months.

They’ve gotten about 85 cents out of me on Maria Menounos, if you’re figuring 2.5 cents per click.

I effin love her show.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:12 AM
I figured I would watch the first few and get sick of it sooner or later, but it’s too good.
Honestly though, if it were just Schmidt, Nick, & Winston…I’d still enjoy it.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:13 AM
Im glad they switched black guys too. I like Winston more than that Wayan son.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:14 AM
doesnt matter, he doesnt try hard enough on defense
February 8th, 2012 at 8:15 AM
I stuck with watching it and it certainly has gotten funnier but its nothing great. Except maybe compared to how horrible it was when it started.

I haven’t seen it, and I don’t tend to like Fox comedies (except The Good Guys, which I knew was terrible). I heard they’re bringing back that awful one with Christian Slater, too.

You called 50/50 “a tub of goo”. I no longer listen to you about movies or tv.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:19 AM
I feel like it’s on the wrong channel sometimes. That white trash show comes on right after it and it’s like night and day. I also loved The Good Guys.. nothing wrong with mindless entertainment sometimes.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:19 AM
hey CJ (or sportsgal) do either of you watch Justified? Or have any familiarity with Natalie Zea? Because you would love bitching about how much too big her top fake teeth are, if you did.

Is this the Roundup? Weak.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:23 AM
According to her imdb, she was on ‘Passions’. Should’ve started with that.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:24 AM
that was a typo on twitter. I meant it turned me into a tub of goo but I didn’t feel the need to correct it the next morning after my testosterone regained.

Is this the Roundup? Weak.
nah, this is the patented Tim Ryan stall tactic on JMac’s behalf. On certain mornings, there will be some way to reference a TV show, wrestling performer or movie actor that was relevant 15 years ago. That’s Tim Ryan’s time to shine, and JMac’s time to play a little bit more goo-goo-ga-ga before duplicating some links in the roundup.

Clayton, please tell me you are on board with the new season of Walking Dead they have been pimping out on Sunday.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:26 AM
Kareem and Jim Norton
February 8th, 2012 at 8:26 AM
I cant wait for Walking Dead to start again so I can start complaining about it again
February 8th, 2012 at 8:26 AM
According to her imdb, she was on ‘Passions’. Should’ve started with that.
except that CJ watches at least 10 shows exactly the same as me, and sportsgal the same, but different shows. Neither of them watches Gossip Girl or shows like that, or desperate housewives. Not that they admit at least.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:27 AM
Kareem and Jim Norton
so in addition to being unfunny and bitter, he’s also a name dropper.

that show is my bread and butter. I can even get a real life audience to listen to me bitch about that horrible show.
It may be my favorite show, just for the shitty possibilities. I can’t wait for these assholes to talk about their feelings more in a show about zombies where there is seldom a zombie.

The most ‘female’ show that I watch is probably the Biggest Loser. Or maybe Once Upon a Time. But no, never had any interest in watching Justified.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:33 AM
You don’t get what Frank was trying to do.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:33 AM

too much punching, I’m sure. But last week (i haven’t seen last night’s) they had two one episode guest stars who were a pawn shop bad guy and his tweaker flunky. Both were Kentucky bumpkin characters, dirty with facial hair and all. The pawn shop bad guy was the guy who got shot in the leg and left to die by Shane, and his tweaker flunky was the scrawny punk of a campaign manager from The Killing. He was terrible in this part, too, but it was funny to see him.
They have to get a lot of different guys to read for these chicken fried asshole parts, I bet.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:33 AM
I’ve thought about watching it but know I wouldn’t like it. but having you, CJ and whoever else watch it and come on here and beat it like a crippled horse makes it so compelling for me, I feel like if I ever tried to watch it I would absolutely hate it.

That’s a female show?

Or how good Alcatraz is going to be, once it gets going.
My favorite part of NDub’s defenses of these shows is how he quietly quits watching and then tries to jump onto the other team, like he was bitching the whole time.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:38 AM
No, I was just trying to say that I do tend to watch shows that Clay does, just not that one.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:38 AM
There were promo commercials during Justified last night and my eyes just glazed over when they would put up the quotes, from horrible human beings with closets full of Walking Dead schwag, saying “The best show on TV”
February 8th, 2012 at 8:38 AM
Justified is solid television.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:40 AM
How did it take 4 episodes for her to go back to her uncle and say “hey uncle, how come you told me my grandpa was a guard and not a prisoner?!”. Or for her to wonder, hey, i wonder why my uncle is so against me looking into Alcatraz? And what the hell are they gonna do with that old guard now? Just lock him up?!
February 8th, 2012 at 8:41 AM
Are you still watching Alcatraz? I’m all caught up. It’s a good premise, but the villain-of-the-week is SO easily captured every week. Very lame.
“Oh maybe he’s re-doing the stuff that he and his kid brother did!”
“Oh maybe he’s going to wait for us at his childhood home.”

Like CJ says, the villian of the week allows them to kick the real plotline can down the road so, so very slowly. What I can’t believe is how fat that girl’s face looks with that dumb pixie haircut, and how come they gave her an overcoat to cover her giant cans.
And what the hell are they gonna do with that old guard now? Just lock him up?!
he’ll either work as a guard at the new prison, or go back to the road crew in Bon Temps.
February 8th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
I understand why they have the villain of the week, but that is 80% of each episode. And that 80% sucks, way too cookie cutter.

oh, I agree. It’s terrible execution on a pretty good premise, so far.
Do you happen to watch Hawaii 5-0? That show is the grand champion of villian of the week + over the top plotlines + slow burning stupid story arc.
February 8th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
In a good or bad way? Because I already watch Burn Notice, which is pretty good at the villain of the week thing. Relatively speaking.
February 8th, 2012 at 9:09 AM

in a terrible, terrible way.
