great piece…and brahms’ beard was a beard to be reckoned with.

Best musician I’ve ever seen was Itzhak Perlman. He might miss a note here or there, but he plays with joy.

Years ago, I saw Andre Watts play. Guy was a technical marvel. Not much emotion, though, which killed it for me.

you just described lang lang to me…he looks emotive and plays with embellishments that make it seem like he’s emotional, but it’s all parlor tricks.

Damn REM is depressing

yeah, i was bummed about the game, then i heard that song (which i heard in a similar situation when my grandmother passed away a few years ago) and it put it into perspective. i do, however, get a great excuse to listen to my music all day surrounded by giants fans in the office.

I saw this guy Yefim Bronfman w/ the Orchestra. B/C he’s playing in front of the rest of the orchestra he has to be perfect so the conductor can have everybody else in step. First time I’d seen a concert there featuring a pianist.

any idea what he played?

and yea, concert pianists, in my opinion, symbolize absolute mastery of classic music.

Before 2011, I would’ve said yes. Right now, I think they’re equal. It’s impossible to put QBs in a vacuum for comparison, though.

who’d you see and where? im pretty good at piano and if i worked on technique and scales, could probably be damn good in a year.

Same. Grabbed my beer and went outside and played fetch with the dog for 30 minutes. Just realized how hungover I am. Doesn’t help that people keep coming by my office and saying “sorry”.
