Ew really? The commercial for this special was god awful. And he made me want to kill myself the few times i watched Marriage Ref.

I really wasn’t that into him either, but my lady wanted to watch it. And it was surprisingly good. She DVR’d it and watched it again last week, and it held up pretty well.

Yeah Hitchens was great in that. Another episode was him, Salmon Rushdie, and Mos Def.

Shockingly, the audience sided with Mos Def. Who I love, but made not one single legitimate point.

Hitchen was an asshole for sure, but he didn’t pander to anyone. And he was a genius. Maher uses his smugness to hide the fact that he’s not as smart as he likes to think he is.

Moleman, did you ever see Christopher Hitchens go at it with Bill Maher? I don’t even recall what the debate was but, just as you outlined above, Hitchens was making a point, Maher interrupted him with a snide comment, the audience erupted with applause and laughter, and Hitchens responded by insulting Maher to his face and giving the finger to the audience. That was pretty epic.

He would be in my top 10 for sure. The thing with Mitch is that I’m not sure how well is act would have lasted over time. Observational one-liners are very hit and miss. Stephen Wright made a career out of it, but how much have you heard from him lately?
