Some Guy Won $51,000 On The Giants Super Bowl Safety
All, Gambling, NFL, Super Bowl February 5th. 2012, 9:16pm
This is a picture tweeted by @benjaminlyons to pretty much every sports-related internet person this evening. Lyons is in Vegas and bet $1000 on the first score of the Super Bowl being a Giants safety. Tom Brady threw the ball away and Lyons cashed in to the tune of $51,000. Must be nice.

$1000, at only 50-1 ??? Even though he won, i say he got swindled.

I couldn’t agree more. I feel like that bet should pay 150-1 or more.

If the bet were “a safety will be scored at some point in the game,” then 50-1 is a good line. But picking the team who scores it, and making it the actual first score demands 500-1 type shit! Much less when you put a grand on it! That guy is an idiot for laying a grand on those numbers.

Thought those were terrible odds.

Well, you have to figure that TD or FG for either team is under 10-1 no matter what. Safety is unlikely, but always a possibility.

I agree with the others above. How was that only 50/1? I’d expect that to be the odds for a any safety occurring at any point in the game. Anyway, good for him winning 51,000.
