No. 1 Overall Recruit Dorial Green-Beckham Chooses Missouri
Wide-receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit will attend the University of Missouri. He had an offer before he had played a game of varsity football.
Green-Beckham is 6’6”, 220lb and runs a 4.4 40-yard dash. He’s the nation’s all-time career receiving yards leader. His senior year – 119 catches, 2,233 yards and 24 touchdowns – won him virtually every national player of the year award.
Needless to say, he’s a huge get for Missouri. If he pans out on the field, he could have the same immediate impact as a Robert Woods or a Sammy Watkins. Off the field, the Tigers do not have a great recruiting pool. They are moving away from their primary font in Texas. Making the step up to the SEC, it’s essential to reel in elite talent and to keep the state’s few top recruits at home. Him being a success there could positively affect their future recruiting endeavors.

What a dummy.

SHUT UP PAT FORDE.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:32 AM
Good luck to him, seems like a good kid. I wonder why he never wanted to play in January tho.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:34 AM
Kid seems like a stud. Surely he’s the go-to WR from day one. I’m happy UGA gets him in the second game of his career next year.

I know Mizzou isn’t an elite program, but does it really impact his future if he goes to Mizzou over Arkansas, Texas, or Bama? He’s still playing on Sundays in a few years, right?
February 1st, 2012 at 10:37 AM
Oh, I’m sure he’ll eventually play on Sundays. And as Clown noted, he’ll EVENTUALLY play in January, just not anytime soon. I’d think a stud like him would want to have a shot at a title in college, too.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:38 AM
yea…the only difference is he’d get 1,000x more balls thrown his way in the high octane mizzou and ark offenses than texas or bama’s. not like that really matters to scouts, but im sure he’d rather play in a high paced offense that throws all the time than a pro-set that leans on the run.

runs a 4.4 40-yard dash
More SEC SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDD!!!
I wonder why he never wanted to play in January tho.
The ref’s stepping in and stopping this fight!!
February 1st, 2012 at 10:39 AM
what’s Mizzou paying him?
February 1st, 2012 at 10:41 AM
Free access to Pinkel’s liquor cabinet.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:41 AM
that’s a good point. he will still get a ton of balls thrown his way at Mizzou, I think he will also see a lot more double coverage’s, although I honestly don’t know what else Mizzourah has on offense.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:41 AM
I don’t even know who Mizzou has at QB, but I’m going to assume they have the best one in the SEC?
February 1st, 2012 at 10:42 AM
James Franklin. He was a true freshman and the first year coach at Vandy. Hates Todd Grantham.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:43 AM
Couldn’t even guess who the head coach of Missouri is.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:44 AM
James Franklin. He’s solid but unspectacular. Can’t say I know enough about the other SEC QBs to rank him.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:44 AM
Wilson and Murray should be the top two. Franklin could easily be the third best, depending on how McCarron develops. Mettenburger is an unknown, Aub is a dumpster fire as is Florida at QB.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:45 AM
Hint: he was referenced in comment 11.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:45 AM
two in the pinkel, one in the stinkel.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:45 AM
Too bad he didn’t early enroll, he coulda been the #1 pick of the 2015 draft. He’ll go #1 to L.A. Riot in 2016.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:46 AM
Jamal Marcus has committed to OSU.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:46 AM
don’t they also have a pretty big HS recruit coming in at QB?
February 1st, 2012 at 10:47 AM
I’ve been to Columbia once…. meh.
Not the easiest place in the world to get to either.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:47 AM
Meth has actually become the unofficial currency of Missourah. So he’s getting lots and lots of meth.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:47 AM
that would be the guy who ices his own kicker and gets duis.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:48 AM
Arrelious Benn thinks the kid made a great decision.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:48 AM
A kid named Maty Mauk. I think he set a bunch of records as far as passing goes. Notre Dame and Michigan were his biggest offers.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:49 AM
Mizzou will get him the ball. He’ll be a stud there.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:49 AM
I’m moving away from my primary font in Helvetica.

What? It’s directly on I-70. It’s 90 minutes from both Kansas City and St. Louis. It’s not Lubbock. Or Starkville.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:51 AM
ooo…what’s the new one?

Well if you don’t live in KC or St. Louis… like me… it’s kind of a pain to fly into STL and then have to drive an hour and a half to get to your destination. All I’m saying. It’s more of a me problem, I suppose.
February 1st, 2012 at 10:53 AM
webdings3, comic sans or gtfo
February 1st, 2012 at 10:55 AM
Ben Mauk’s little brother (Wake Forest and Cincy). Both tore up Ohio passing records.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:01 AM
For Tim Ryan.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:02 AM
Great get by Pinkel. 1st 5 star recruit for Mizzou since Blaine Gabbert and Jeremy Maclin.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:05 AM
Obviously DGB doesn’t give two shits about you. I’d be pissed.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:09 AM
Hope he enjoys consistent double teams by SEC defenses.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:15 AM
More likely they have the worst QB in the conference. Well, besides Kentucky.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:26 AM
It looks like he really wanted to play for the Hogs, but his parents and girlfriend wanted him at Mizzu ( that and probably a suitcase full of cash ). Arkansas would of honestly been his best choice for the future. They are building to win big for a while and know what it takes to win in the SEC. Mizzu is in for a major culture shock when they enter SEC play this year and the DE’s are as fast as their RB and the QB is eating dirt every third play…

God, I can’t wait for football season. I’ll probably watch the 2008 Cotton Bowl 100 times before then just to get ready for that SEC Speed.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:29 AM
Anywhere will be fine for his future, as long as he doesn’t get hurt, he’ll be in the league.
February 1st, 2012 at 11:31 AM
I hope you don’t think that’s a good representation, considering you were playing Arkansas in a bowl game.

I lived in Columbia for about 4 years after 9/11 and it was fantastic….great people….great place….
February 1st, 2012 at 11:50 AM
That is a very interesting way to phrase that.
