Missouri landed the Nation’s No. 1 recruit, Dorial Green-Beckham. Alabama brought in the consensus No. 1 class. This happened. Here’s a rundown of some of the other notable signing day stories.

Up on the Farm: The Cardinal landed five-star offensive line targets Kyle Murphy and Andrus Peat to pair with No. 33 overall four-star Joshua Garnett and three other four-star offensive linemen. They also added five-star defensive tackle Aziz Shittu and Barry Sanders Jr. skyrocketing their class into the top ten. The scary thing for the Pac 12 is, they may not be finished.

Florida State’s five-star quarterback commit Jameis Winston was heavily recruited by Stanford. He has delayed signing his letter of intent. He claims he is “still a Nole,” though with that quality of beef coming in (and the way FSU’s O-Line played last year) you have to wonder if he takes a second look.

Surprising flip: Wide receiver Deontay Greenberry, Rivals’ No. 49 overall recruit, flipped from Notre Dame to Houston. It was presumed he made his official visit there as a favor to Houston assistant Jamie Christian, who previously recruited him at Arizona State. Beano Cook certainly won’t understand this. Not sure I do either.

Rich Getting Richer: Florida State was already returning perhaps the best and deepest front seven in college football. Today they added two defensive tackles, Mario Edwards and Eddie Goldman, the No. 3 and No. 7 recruits in the country respectively. Recruits love the tuft.

Family Affair: Church-going five-star linebacker recruit Josh Harvey-Clemons picked out the Georgia hat this morning. Though, he has not sent in his letter of intent. Reportedly, he needs a guardian to co-sign it and said guardian was not quite convinced he made the right decision.

Fourth Time’s a Charm: The No. 93 overall receiver from California initially committed to USC, committed to Cal at the U.S. All America Game, then switched to Washington before, finally, settling for UCLA. He joins an impressive Bruins’ class that includes five-star DT Ellis McCarthy and New Jersey recruit Devin Fuller. UCLA has 68 players on scholarship and has received 23 signed letters of intent so far. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Golden Touch: Al Golden fought through an NCAA cloud and a barrage of negative recruiting to land what, on paper, looks like a monster NCAA class. He received some major “juice” hometown kid and five-star kid Tracy Howard, the No. 13 overall recruit. If all goes well and the sanctions aren’t too onerous, Golden could have the Canes back quickly.

Major Coup: The Washington Huskies scored a major coup, luring No. 4 overall defensive back Shaq Thompson. Excited for the new era, the Huskies already had Thompson’s virtual highlight reel ready to go when the announcement became official.
