Clint Dempsey Scores EPL Hat Trick For Fulham, First By an American Player
The transcendent American soccer star exists, and he’s playing in the English Premier League. Clint Dempsey scored his second hat trick in a month fueling Fulham’s 5-2 win over Newcastle. It’s the first by an American in EPL play. This barrage makes it nine league goals in 22 starts for Dempsey, 15 goals in 30 appearances in all competition.
It’s only January, but this, already, is the best club season had by an American soccer player. He might survive the January window with Fulham, but it would be shocking if he’s not playing for a Champions League club next fall.

Andy Carrol has looked like an absolute non-threat on goal, though I do credit him for the heading on to Bellamy’s run. Downing has been disappointing. Adam has been unlucky. Rienna has been suspect at times this year. KK seems to be phasing Kuyt out. LFC need Suarez back in the worst way.
Thought LFC might get Dempsey this transfer window but looking unlikely.
