Freestyle Skier Sarah Burke Dead At 29
Skier Sarah Burke died this morning as a result of injuries sustained during training in Utah last week. Burke was just 29. She won four X-game titles, five World Cups and a world championship. Her biggest accomplishment might have been the addition of the women’s superpipe event to the Winter Olympics. Burke was considered the favorite for the inaugural event at the 2014 games.

The fact that a few totally retarded posts came before this even though she died several hours ago, coupled with the fact that this post has no comments, compels me to mention that this is a real tragedy and that my thoughts and sympathies are with her friends and family right now.

sure ballz, but you know this place is dead at this time of night these days.
i wonder if that matters to tbl/fsv? meaning, do page clicks count late night like they do diring the day?
it’s sad for folks like you and me…it’s become a self-fulfilling prohecy, this death of TBLAD. people hear it’s dead, so they don’t even try
January 20th, 2012 at 1:23 AM
Yes, TBLAD does suck now. But look at the front page. “Guy gets kicked in the head!” “Hockey players rescue puppy!” “Guy gets dunked on!” ‘oh yeah, and a famous skier died in a tragic accident 7 hours ago……’

therehas been more fight videos/KO videos lately. idk, for me, i’m just so used to this place and my time is so limited…i know folks here, i don’t demand much of the posts because the commenting and commenters are what i’m here for. this was my first commenting foray, back in 08, and i’m loyal i guess
January 20th, 2012 at 1:35 AM
ballz it’s ok to go somewhere else. i’d miss you, but instead of comlain, just go cheat
January 20th, 2012 at 1:36 AM
I also started in ’08. And am also loyal. Which is why I care enough to call out the folks who write these posts. If I didn’t care, I wouldn’t have said anything. Commenters come out for posts that are interesting or controversial or thought provoking. And those posts usually stop showing up after the sun goes down in the east.

I wouldn’t go anywhere else, besides twitter. That’s where all my imaginary internet friends went. After they got fucking banned. Or got screwed because there is still no mobile site.

truth. i got a droid for xmas, so i know what you mean by mobile sites. fuck, TVF has a nice one. TVF!
but, theirs is also easy to handle by phone because there are not so many commnters so fast. it has to be a function of commenter load. i love the TVF guys, i write posts over there occasionally, but i come here because of the rapidfire commenting

Wow. Fucking TVF? I’d comment more there, but I can’t seem to log in.They do good work. And Sparty and Trey are good people.

Agreed ballz. What a horrible thing with her. Awful. Just was married also.
But there are a lot of young kids on here an ALL anyone cares about is football and basketball. I like CRM the best b/c at least he writes about MMA and alternative sports… not seeing some 7’2 guy jump one inch and dunk. Now THAT Is talent.
Go to Unofficialnetworks.com for skiins and snowboarding stuff

Ballz – I couldn’t agree with you more. I can’t understand why this wasn’t posted here earlier. Sarah passed away before 10am PT and it has been all over the news. Even ESPN had it as the lead story for several hours on their homepage.
I’ve been coming to this site since ’07 and I rarely post. But this tragic occurrence compelled me to. I’m an avid skier and have enjoyed watching Sarah rip it up in ski movies and at the X Games for nearly a decade as she was definitely the world’s best female park and pipe skier. Also, as the father of two young girls, I always thought she was an incredible athlete that set a great example for my kids. She will be missed. RIP, Sarah.

Where the FUCK have you been? I haven’t seen you in what seems like over a year. And yea, he writes about MMA, but he does so 4 times a week and gets between 0 and 13 comments each time. Yet MMA outnumbers NHL, Soccer, F1, Cycling, movie and TV posts combined. And movie/TV posts always draw shitloads of commnenters and ALWAYS have awesome threads.

Poor Rory (her husband). And hey a-holes, of all the threads to cunt up, did you really have to choose this one?
