It’s been nearly a year since we last had a story about a sumo wrestler on the site so here you go.

The scariest moment of the day, however, was when gyoji (referee) Shozaburo Kimura took a nasty spill in ozeki Baruto’s bout against Wakakoyu and was left unconscious at ringside before he had to be carted out of the auditorium on a stretcher by sumo officials.

Ever notice how all sumo wrestling clips are from the same angle? If only FOX could get the rights to air sumo, we’d see some fly-over shots and have cameras in each corner of the mawashi. Plus, Cleetus the dancing sumo wrestler. I think we’ve got a game-changer on our hands.
