The elitist shitbag attitude that all other sports are for mouth breathers is the exact type of reason the “Baseball Sucks” crowd grows each year. Baseball is the least mentally taxing popular sport in America, so lets not act like filling out a lineup card is the same thing as dissecting a zone blitz in three seconds.

I don’t think baseball is fundamentally awful. I think its hamstrung by traditionalists and who want to preserve the status quo at all costs regardless of what’s best for the sport. If the pattern holds baseball will realize this about 10 years too late.

Only having four (now five) teams from each conference make the playoffs in a season that drags on for 162 games means that half the fanbase stops caring about the sport in July. The longer you can keep the majority tuned in, the better attendance/ratings you’ll get.

Please stop. Don’t ruin the baseball playoffs. Sometimes, it’s nice to have a playoff system mean something – where getting in you actually earned your spot. (Unlike the NBA.) Baseball isn’t for the simple-minded playoff derpers. Some sports are meant to be different than others. Try enjoying them for what they are.
