Judging from some of the ridiculous comments on here, it’s obvious that most of the people commenting are not even from the South, let alone Louisiana. The T in T-Bob’s name is a Cajun term meaning little. It is mostly used in a name to mean a younger person when someone else in the family has the same first name. In T-Bob’s case, his grandfather is Robert Joseph Hebert Sr., his father is Robert Joseph II,(Bobby), and he is Robert Joseph III,(T-Bob). If you don’t understand something about a culture, there’s no reason to make it sound stupid. Especially when you are the one with the lack of information. And just for the record, most Louisianan’s think that Bobby was right on the money with what he asked Les Miles. Everyone would have liked to have had the opportunity to go up to Les and asked, “WTF”.

TigerFan, I appreciate your passion. I remember fondly Hebert’s time in the USFL and with the Saints. (I was a Showboats fan, but respected Hebert’s game.) And, to be that close to a championship only to have coaching decisions adversely influence it would be maddening.

My “15 minutes” comment referenced the fact that on a national level, Hebert hadn’t had a high profile in the last few years. The intent wasn’t to be PC, sensitive nor offensive. Rather, it was a tweak at the man’s passion. No more, no less.

Geez! There’s so much hostility towards Bobby. My opinion is that, most people won’t understand where he’s coming from, if they’re not from S. Louisiana. Most people around here (S.LA) know him to be a pretty colorful character & they don’t just write him off & label him as “stupid”, like I saw in some of these comments; here’s why: Bobby Hebert is from here, has a son that plays for LSU, is a diehard supporter of the state & the people, which in turn, most of these people are fans. So maybe these reasons will help explain some of his intention. In Louisiana, LSU football is like a religion (and that’s not an exaggeration). People here absolutely take it to a different level, him included, which is great for so many reasons. I also think that he has more to lose than gain in making those comments, so with that said, I don’t think the “15 min of fame” bit carries that much weight. And if anyone can handle his comments, I think it would be Les Miles. I would hope most coaches are pretty-thick skinned, or should be. Now should Bobby have been a little more professional about it, absolutely. He’s a passionate guy that let his emotions get the best of him. However, for whatever reason, the media has been skirting the issue, and I think that it had to get addressed at some point. And Les Miles should have to answer for it. He’s the head coach. Bobby Hebert’s comments & candor were of no surprise to me, I’ve listened to him commentate before. If that’s what the media is going to potray as “offensive”, then I think they need to reassess & not be so sensitive & politically correct. It’s sports! And if there are certain people out there that don’t like Bobby Hebert, then you don’t have to listen to him, change the channel.

It is amazing the stupidity of some people on here!!! Bobby is the only one asking that pathetic coach the reason behind his lack of coaching for this game. I applaud Bobby. The only man with balls in Louisiana. Les should be penalized for this. When he wins he gets bonused but there is no action for when he does not win. Everyone wants to defend Miles over Saban but Saban is a better coach. Even though Saban was a trader!!!! Look at how many head coaches came out of Sabans leadership!!! There is not one out of Miles!!!! The only reason we won the championship 4 years ago is because of Saban. Not Les Smiles!!! Wake up LSU fans!!! Thank you again Cajun Cannon!!!!

But Im glad they waited 50 days to play it. Wouldn’t want anyone missing any classes over their winter breaks or anything to have a playoff.

It’s a shame that the criticism had to come from a dumbass like Hebert, because it really is what every single LSU fan is thinking right now.

Les’ devotion to Jefferson was borderline insanity. The short-passing game they tried to employ against Bama may have worked with a more competent QB, but not JJ. For some reason he couldnt see what every LSU fan had known for 4 years – Jefferson sucks.

Now we know how Ohio State fans felt at the end of the ’06 MNC. A season of domination capped by the worst game ever. But at least OSU had the Ginn TD return, i was in a bar full of LSU fans and we didnt have one damn thing to cheer about the entire game.

Oh well, bring on the Mett/Kiel era.

Here's another character-defining story about Satan: When Will Muschamp was working for Saban, he took a well-earned vacation, a cruise or something. Saban realized he needed a paper Muschamp had, so he called Muschamp's mom and ordered her to go over to her son's house, get the paper and fax it to Saban's office. She actually did it. Only Saban gave her the wrong fax number. When he didn't receive the fax fast enough, Saban called her up again and chewed her out. That story came from Muschamp's dad.

Not saying Miles is a bad coach by any stretch, and I agree that his basic strategy makes sense given the talent. I’m just not convinced that his overall coaching ability is necessarily equal to the talent he recruits. But there’s no question we’d die to have him at Tennessee.

Don’t commit turnovers, have a dominant defense, and wear their asses out in the 4th quarter.

With LSU’s talent, it works against 118 NCAA football teams. It’s no mistake that LSU averaged 38 against the rest of the country. And you and you can say it was luck and big plays. It still happened in 12 of 14 games this year. And the two times it didn’t happen, it happened against arguably the best defense in decades.

And it didn’t hurt that Nick Saban and his team was Don Larsen Monday night. They were perfect.
