I don’t know. Saturday was basically a 7-hour commercial for Charles Barkley’s Saturday Night Live.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:13 AM
Durango, dang.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:15 AM
i know. they just kept ignoring the Saints.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:15 AM
Good choise to start off the week. More “good” choices, here, here and here.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:16 AM
That big banner picture up front has a guy that has a .01% chance of making the Hall of Fame if everything breaks right, and then a guy who used to play special teams for the Bills.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:18 AM
Yeah, whatfuckingever. Barkley was on TV A LOT.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:19 AM
photo deemed “too sexy” for yearbook …
it was deemed inappropriate as her senior photo. It looks (and I’m sure she knows this) like she’s topless and there is a black bar over her boobies. I think that was the game she was playing.
But that certainly isn’t censorship. They’ll even let her put her skank photo in the yearbook if she buys a banner. But hey, slutty picture + the word censorship makes a nice little weird news article.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:20 AM
you do it to yourself, ole boy.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:21 AM
Yeah, whatfuckingever. Barkley was on TV A LOT.
and he never once mentioned Drew Brees’s accuracy as a passer. He only talked about basketball, dieting, and the Dallas Cowboys.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:22 AM
I read a Peter King tweet last night where he said he was devoting a bunch of MMQB to a hard story about an official, and I figured he would be writing to tell Ron Winter that the game has passed him by, and that he and his crew were a detriment to football.
Alas, no.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:23 AM
do that many people not have cable TV?
I havent had cable for in a decade. I think 13% of the USA doesnt have cable or dish tv
January 9th, 2012 at 8:24 AM
8, 7, 4, 2, and 1 are just really…something.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:26 AM
as a sports fan, how do you watch sports?
January 9th, 2012 at 8:27 AM
Courtney Alexis’ Class of ’12 Yearbook Editor wonders why that Durango High chick is dressed like a nun.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:28 AM
this is why your posts on ratings are kinda dumb. a lot, and when i say a lot, i mean millions of people, watch tv (especially sports) online. i got rid of cable and haven’t missed a game that I want to watch.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:29 AM
The only thing he would miss is MNF which really ain’t worth a fuck anymore

January 9th, 2012 at 8:32 AM
How? Do you go to friends places or to the bar?
January 9th, 2012 at 8:33 AM
stream it
January 9th, 2012 at 8:33 AM
as a sports fan, how do you watch sports?
I consume sports (and all content) more than I watch. First the vast bulk of the big games are on basic tv. The few HUGE games I will go to a bar or a friends house. So there were a few playoff hoops games, the major golf coverage and some of the ncaa tourney first days are really the only things I have to see. I have almost every Indians/Cavs game on the radio in the background in my house. I’m raising two kids so I cant really imagine ever just coming home and throwing on the tube. The internet and newspaper catch me up on everything else.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:35 AM
I know there plenty of LeAnn Rimes hate here, but she can get it.
Nice Roundup JMac, plenty of good links.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:35 AM
WatchESPN.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:36 AM
NBA playoffs = cable
MLB playoffs = cable
college basketball = cable
college football = cable
I guess I like options college football Saturday there might be 5 games on. I might not want what my network affiliate is giving me. Ditto for … well, every sport.
And frankly, watching games on the CPU wears me out. You can’t do tons of different things at once (check & write email, surf the web, check twitter, update the site, etc) because it slows down the CPU.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:37 AM
I think the one thing really stopping me from dropping cable would be the inability to watch Red Sox games. I live in New England so MLB.tv wouldn’t work. I wonder if I could survive with just the radio broadcasts.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:37 AM
stream it
Stupid question coming up, but I’m not tech savy, at all. How? Is every ESPN game available online?
January 9th, 2012 at 8:38 AM
thanks.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:39 AM
every game falls under their ESPN3 online channel. just about every single inet provider gives you access to it.
/laughs at Cablevision subscribers
January 9th, 2012 at 8:40 AM
not to mention that during NFL playoff games, there are so many damn commercials, I’m always flipping the channel to watch something else. After a TD, you seriously have like 6-7 minutes:
replays galore, xpt
commercial
kickoff (touchback)
commercial
I think i flipped to “The Town” and watched the scene in the bowels of Fenway park. Then i came back and didn’t miss a play.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:41 AM
shockingly, I noticed during the MSU/UM football game earlier this year that the stream was ahead of the broadcast. i was texting people and they were wondering how i was getting the play before them.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:41 AM
Whoa, I didn’t know she had that going on. I feel much better, last night didn’t happen.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:41 AM
Whole cities will be lost.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
NBA playoffs = cable
MLB playoffs = cable
college basketball = cable
college football = cable
Not exclusivley though — I never thought about it, but you could be alright with just network TV.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
I pay $8 a month for basic cable (just the locals, plus a few others). I have Xbox 360 with a gold membership so I get all espn3 content (all games except MNF) – everything else I stream. The only downside is that I don’t have HD
January 9th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
Dude, all those low seven figures and you couldn’t upgrade to a decent computer? Your gear is weak.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
I became highly agitated just reading the title of that Tebow 316 post, and yet I STILL clicked on it.
Tebow is the anti-christ.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:42 AM
We should laugh at them anyways because of their shitty provider.

Semper Fi, Brother. I hope you get out of this mess. The US government needs to do something about this. Its like they do this for ransom
January 9th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
OK, so the Steelers season is over, I can just concentrate on the Pens.
/wait, the entire team is hurt
//at least there’s the Pirates
///cries until September
January 9th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
I bought a magic device from Direct TV that lets me pause real life and tune back in at my convenience. Its Out of This World.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:43 AM
there is a Sunday Ticket app on the PS3. think i may get it for next season.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:44 AM
i cannot begin to tell you how freeing it was to cut the cord.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:45 AM
what kind of computer are you using, a Commodore 64?
get rid of your weak gear and upgrade to a new iMac or macbook pro.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:45 AM
Should be an easy transition for us. Considering how half of that team is hurt as well. If any of you dudes are an athlete looking for an injury, Pittsburgh, PA is the place for you.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:48 AM
there is a Sunday Ticket app on the PS3. think i may get it for next season.
Really? What this will save me in beer money alone will pay for it. Know how much?
January 9th, 2012 at 8:48 AM
Pig Sooiiee!
January 9th, 2012 at 8:49 AM
really? Thought they only had it for the MLB Extra Innings, didn’t realize they did it for the Sunday NFL ticket as well. Didn’t think they would be so accommodating to fans.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:50 AM
i’m not sure. i think 300 or 400.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:51 AM
Now TBL you run a sports site so your circumstances are different than mine, but I would say that once an average consumer doesn’t have cable for a bit, one may realize how it’s possible to go without it. TV is a time killer and expensive. But I respect TV is a big thing for a lot of people though so I realize I am the outlier.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:51 AM
This was for the past season:
PS3 owners who don’t have DirecTV can subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket for $339.95. Existing DirecTV Sunday Ticket subscribers can get the package on their PS3s for $50
January 9th, 2012 at 8:51 AM
Or just get an AppleTV.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:52 AM
My buddy has Apple TV and jailbroke it and it was glorious.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:53 AM
this.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
there is a Sunday Ticket app on the PS3. think i may get it for next season.
Really? What this will save me in beer money alone will pay for it. Know how much?
i thought it was the same as on the TV.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:54 AM
I have no rooting interest in this game tonight other than not wanting to be bored to tears by a 9 – 6 grudge match.
I have a sneaking suspicion, however, that I’m going to be disappointed.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:55 AM
Best $79 I ever spent.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
Was it? I kept flipping back to Golf Channel to watch guys chase the pill around Kapalua.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:56 AM
What does Apple TV actually do? Is it just a DVR?
January 9th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
loving this lil leann resurgence. great body.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
If someone saw those LeAnn Rimes pics on your screen only from the neck down, they’d accuse you of looking at kiddie porn.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
If I wasn’t married I wouldn’t have cable.
I think wives are the main reason cable companies still exist.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:57 AM
seems strange as to why there would be existing subscribers willing to pay even more to get the same product on another device if they are already paying $400 for it.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
I wanted to sign up for Directv because I am tired of Suddenlink Cable and I wanted to use Sunday NFL Ticket. I just couldn’t agree to a 2 year term with an increase in rates the 2nd year.
January 9th, 2012 at 8:58 AM
Ditto. Get ready for another 12-10 barn burner.

January 9th, 2012 at 8:59 AM
it’s crazy how well you can hit the ball with no wrist hinge
January 9th, 2012 at 8:59 AM
interesting, probably why you can’t find online episodes of the real housewives or any HGTV/Food network shows. it’s a conspiracy.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:00 AM
Somebody bitches when it’s 55-40, then somebody bitches when it’s 13-10. People can never be satisfied.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:01 AM
This.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:01 AM
If you don’t want to pay for another box in a room and have a PS3 in that room I guess that could make sense.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:02 AM
DirecTV is more willing to negotiate and hand out discounts than any other company I’ve ever dealt with.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:02 AM
I just want a happy equilibrium. Like 29-23.
/satisfied
January 9th, 2012 at 9:02 AM
comcast was the only option in my area outside of DirecTV. Tons of savings in the first year, the rate increases in the second year make it even out in the long term, but the NFL ticket option gave it the edge, especially since the first year is free.
I’m rationalizing getting it again next season at full price because not paying for it this year really makes it seem like it’s only $200.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
She’s got a banging body and she’s obviously of age. Don’t take the fun out of it.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
i started having a lot more sex after we got rid of cable…just sayin
January 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
As long as they don’t bore me with shitty offensive execution and call it “defensive dominance”, I can live with 13 – 10.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:03 AM
Well, it’s a known fact that 97% of women repel technology. It’s easier for the channels to just replay those shows 18 hours of the day.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:04 AM
I wonder if we’ll see the forward pass much tonight.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
I wouldn’t be surprised if its price goes down next season.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
I didn’t have cable or dish up until a couple years ago, I got by just fine. March Madness on cable is what made me bite the bullet.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
I just want to see offensive plays and defensive plays. Is that too much to ask from the two supposed best teams in the country?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
screw that. get a Cray or Jaguar with some of that low seven figures.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:05 AM
I can’t get by her completely busted face and the fact that she is crazy as a fucking loon.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
Anyone else see the Roethlisberger presser last night and think he raided David Garrard’s closet?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
TBL, I can’t believe you don’t have a multi-computer or even multi-monitor setup. You’re more blessed than Tebow.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:06 AM
I figure if there’s a cable game I really wanna see, I’ll go to a bar.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:07 AM

*because you’re at the internet, I’m obligated to call you troll
January 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
oh yea…and who says you need to take a divot to hit an iron? dude picks it clean off the surface everytime unless it’s an uphill lie.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
yup. it’s why i can’t get NBA league pass. i’d get nothing done.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
I don’t care if the score is 3-2. I just want bama to lose. They don’t deserve happiness.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:08 AM
speaking of cable, my DVR fucked up for the second time in two months on friday/saturday so I called the shittiest cable company I know of (Cox) and after sitting on hold for 20 minutes I politely told them how much the sucked and asked for a deduction off my bill. the result? they took off a $10 processing fee they were going to charge me for upgrading my service to include internet. in summation, fuck cable.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:10 AM
is there going to be an official post today about the WC weekend?
anyone correctly predict all the outcomes, or at least a couple, in TBL’s prediction thread?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:10 AM
I’ve been following that story very closely. I was good friends with the marine’s sister growing up. A very sad story indeed.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:11 AM

January 9th, 2012 at 9:12 AM
I’m paying $90/month for cable and I just can’t justify the expense any longer. I think we’re going with a Roku.

January 9th, 2012 at 9:13 AM
Have you used any other cable companies than Cox? I’ve had several and I found cox to be the best by far. Maybe it has to do with the market.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:13 AM
I didn’t really notice until Saturday, but he looks fucking jacked. His forearms and upper back are huge.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:13 AM
Seriously. Why do you need to hit a divot?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:14 AM

January 9th, 2012 at 9:14 AM
His outfit screamed “2-bit hoodrat.” We know his wife didn’t let him out of the house telling him he looked good.

January 9th, 2012 at 9:15 AM
Be wary. I tried this exact same thing over the summer, and my internet provider hit me with buffers.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
I wonder if its retaliation for sanctions or just the continuation of charging random Americans with a crime so they could pay their way out of jail. Now that I think about it, the last two Americans only paid about $500,000 to get out of jail (IIRC). That shouldn’t be a lot to a…country. I dont know. Its easy to say DONT GO TO IRAN! But he was visiting family there.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
yea, he’s been playing well too, tho a major is a pretty big leap.Did you know Byrd has won SIX tournaments? He’s got chops, he’s paid his dues, and he’s just random enough of a “Some Guy Named” to do it.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
Well, I can completely get on board with this.
/but fuck LSU, too.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:16 AM
Very feasible IMO. BAL could come out and fall right on their face a la ATL last year.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:17 AM
Costco has Roku 2 boxes for $80. I was thinking about giving that a try.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:18 AM
depends on your release. if you release the club sooner (like nicklaus), you don’t need to take a divot but if you hold your wrist angle (like hogan), you’re going to.
hitting a divot’s a byproduct of hitting down on the ball with your irons and wedges to compress it. you don’t need to take one, but you increase your chances of hitting it thin by trying to pick it clean.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
Team ‘no divot’ right here.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:19 AM
I also want to commend the offensive staff (and I guess John Fox) for calling that zinger in OT yesterday. PIT bit so hard on that run fake. You almost felt bad for them knowing that every QB in the league but Mark Sanchez would burn them on that post.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Oh, I see. You’re one of those people who can’t get excited unless you’re watching hardcore porn where some chick is probably fingering a goat. Got it, you have fun with that then. I’ll just admire the semi-clothed female body, thanks.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
there’s certain shows and channels i like to watch that aren’t available as free streaming of current seasons and that kills devices like Roku for me.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:20 AM
Team Divot
January 9th, 2012 at 9:21 AM
You also increase your chances of hitting it fat by taking a divot.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
Disagree. You can thin it just as easily.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
oh, no doubt…if he drives it like he was saturday and sunday, why couldn’t he? that’s been his achilles heel…84th in distance, 115th in accuracy. he could probably stand to improve his short game too (106th).
January 9th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
I’m with you and I’m still trying to figure out which shows I’ll be able to watch between Netflix, Hulu Plus, the Network websites, and iTunes. I need to figure this out quickly as Justified is coming back in a week.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:22 AM
I am going to think long about taking Houston this week. Really think Baltimore is massively overrated and we all know Bert will fuck up big time.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:23 AM
Both teams are pretty equal, but I like the Andre Johnson factor for Houston to make a difference in the game.
and Baltimore’s stupid penalties will do them in, like they always do.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:24 AM
Has Dick LeBeau been fired yet?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:24 AM
I think Yates will look like a deer in headlights for at least 2 quarters.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Looks like it’s going to be BAL or NE to come out of the AFC. Don’t let me down, National Football Conference.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
debateable…
regardless, there’s no right or wrong. greg norman picked it clean too, probably more than anyone, and he hit it just fine. sergio takes divots that have to be 18 inches long, and he stripes it.
no one way to play golf.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:25 AM
Would anyone agree that Houston is probably the most complete team in the playoffs? No? okay. I just think they have the tools to put up points if they can continue to do what they did this past weekend. The defense speaks for itself.
New England: Suspect Defense, superb offense (Will that translate to the playoffs or will someone use the Jets’ blueprint from last year?)
Baltimore: Suspect offense, good defense
Denver: Suspect offense until last night, good defense
Houston: Good offense with an iffy QB situation, good to great defense
I think they match up well with New England. Their hurdle is getting over Baltimore, which they couldn’t with Schaub playing QB. Its a more of a crap-shoot this year than I can remember in past seasons
January 9th, 2012 at 9:26 AM
I know AMC doesn’t do full episodes, at least with breaking bad and mad men online, and that’s a deal breaker for me.
FX is similar I think, unless they changed in the past year or so when I wanted to find Justified online.
thought about apple TV, just don’t want to pay $3 per episode to rent or own.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
if houston plays defense like they did against cincy, whooboy…don’t care who their QB is.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:27 AM
Really, really tough to go against the home teams on Divisional weekend. Not sure if the numbers back up that assertion, however.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:28 AM
Cox is the only one here. they have AT&T U-verse but it ends about 1/4 mile from my house. plus Cox has every Cardinals game during the season, so they have me by the balls. but I’ve heard from other people that have has Cox, Comcast, etc. that Cox is the best, which is scary. those other companies must suck.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:29 AM
This. I don’t see how people can be talking themselves into the Texans. Nice victory and all but it was a home playoff game against the Bungles. They lost their last three games before that and already got shelled by Baltimore and that was with Schaub.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:30 AM
Fios does not have HowardTV — and I once had HowardTV and it was the best 12.99 a month ever spent.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:31 AM
For what – for watching his players continually fail to adhere to their assignments? The defensive game plan was fine, the execution failed miserably (glares at Ike Taylor).
The coaches that really need to look at themselves are Arians/Tomlin. The time management during the game, and at numerous points throughout the season, was atrocious.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:31 AM
I think their offense is still suspect, they made enough plays when Pitt’s coverage broke down, but their Offense doesn’t move the ball at will against a defense consistently.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
I mentioned that. All I can say is that they were on their way to 3-3. A lot of teams have their ups and downs throughout a year. I think the 3 game losing streak at the end of the season gave them a piece of humble pie (Division Championship wasn’t anything to celebrate about)
January 9th, 2012 at 9:32 AM
wha? yea, fuck that guy that’s produced the no. 1 defense in the NFL for like the past 5 years straight.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:33 AM
Yates to Andre Johnson is complimentary to the Houston running game, I think Houston is good enough on the run to pound the ball enough to make the plays offensively.
will probably be a 17-14 type game 100-150 yards rushing both sides minimum.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:34 AM
Eh, no. I save my excitement for getting some. I appreciate the semi-clothed and even fully clothed female body. I just don’t see a body to appreciate in those pics.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:34 AM
They really, really do. And I’ve found Cox to be the most proactive about adding new channels (NFL, Big 10 Networks, etc) much more than the others.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:35 AM
I counted 46 predictions from that link and it went 27 for LSU and 19 for Alabama. It’s probably not a horrible final score guess either.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:36 AM
Who’s fault is it that they blew their assignments then? There has to be some sort of accountability for the fact that they didn’t see the most obvious QB draw in the history of football coming.
Agree on the rest of the coaches needing to be looked at, though.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:37 AM
I agree. She has a look on her face like she just sniffed a turd ala Renee Zellweger
January 9th, 2012 at 9:38 AM
the 3 to 4 times a round where I hit down on the ball like I am supposed to I can throw a majestic divot. it’s those other 40-50 swings that do me in.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:38 AM
A collection of BCS title game predictions. Seems like everyone likes LSU. I’ve got Alabama 19, LSU 17.
vegas is saying the public likes bama. line has moved to bama -2, at least that is where it was last night.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:38 AM
moderation
January 9th, 2012 at 9:39 AM
I don’t actually think he should get fired. But I do think massive questions need to be asked about an allegedly elite defense that was embarrassed.

Man, I wish I was in the requirements generation meeting for this.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:40 AM
Maybe the value of Ryan Clark has been really, really undervalued for all of these years.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:41 AM
having polamalu creep to the line as frequently as he does can hurt the team defensively when it leaves man coverage on the receivers and only 1 safety on top.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:41 AM
pats are 2 touchdown favs? that seems like a ton, hard not to take denver.
oh, and the pitt d may have been ranked 1, but you are shit if tebow lights you up.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
BUT IKE TAYLOR IS AN ELITE SHUTDOWN CORNER
January 9th, 2012 at 9:42 AM
Lets take a look at the way Roethlisberger’s injury was handled. They were playing in week 17 for a bye to get healthy. They could have had their Bye during week 17 by not playing anyone!
January 9th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
Or the value of the back-ups were really, really overvalued.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
It was a whole clusterfuck, the Dline was decimated and got absolutely no pressure, even with a blitz pressure was non-existent. There were definitely times were the safeties were too involved in run support. Ryan Clark, while not great works well and covers Troy when he gambles. Well Troy was gambling a bit too much and Mundy wasn’t covering for him
And of course Thomas making great plays while the Steelers receivers can’t catch easy passes.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:43 AM
Really, really tough to go against the home teams on Divisional weekend. Not sure if the numbers back up that assertion, however.
Once you account for team quality, there is no boost for divisional week games. The teams with byes usually are better teams, which is why they win a higher percentage than in the wildcard round.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:44 AM
He should have been rested from halftime of the San Fran game. Massive mistake by the coaching staff and another example of the league not taking any injuries seriously.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:45 AM
woof.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:46 AM
So you want to see them play Arkansas again?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:46 AM
Fair enough.

Never watched either show, but heard about both. What the hell is wrong with us, where these are the types of people that gain fame/notoriety in society?
The folk who green-lit these shows ought to be waterboarded.

but I’ve heard from other people that have has Cox, Comcast, etc. that Cox is the best, which is scary. those other companies must suck.
Cablevision keeps calling me for triple play, I just want to pick up next time and tell them not to call me again until they get the NFL network and Red Zone channel back on. I don’t watch enough TV to justify the cost of satellite. Their internet on the other hand is actually very good.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:48 AM
What the hell is wrong with us, where these are the types of people that gain fame/notoriety in society?
This kind of brings this full circle, the reason these people are famous is because they are on TV. They are on TV because there are 900 channels and the stations need content and the cheapest shows to make are reality TV. Some gain traction because people like to watch other people makes fools of themselves.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:49 AM
I opened it, scrolled down to one line, randomly, and it was all, all, all kinds of fail. Is there anyway to have a legitimate debate about this issue? Sports writers are in the tank for paying players and I think a large part of it is because they inherently don’t trust coaches, athletic departments, administrators, corporations. Republicans, the gas in their car…
January 9th, 2012 at 9:49 AM

He should have not played in the Browns game after he hurt it in the first place. You do more damage to it playing on it when it’s freshly torn than after it’s had time to start the healing process. That’s where he really f’d up.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Memphis finally gets its QB: Jacob Karam is leaving Texas Tech to play for the Tigers.
GTG.
Haven’t heard enough about the new offense, but I agree with some of the commenters at the CA – they need something similar to the Red Raiders’ style, something unconventional enough to make up for their lack of talent.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:53 AM
I would love to see Alabama play Arkansas again.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:54 AM
Let’s not act like the idea of people being famous for being famous is new. Socialites have existed for decades and just look at all the untalented fucks that hung out with Andy Warhol.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:54 AM
Red flag when you see the “can’t buy the kid a hamburger” argument.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:54 AM
KG, I hear ya. And, “way back when” that was the fear about 500 channels (was it George Carlin who joked about it, or someone else?).
Yepper regarding “reality” TV. With the heavy editing and trumped-up “drama”, it ain’t very real, but it is cheap to make.
Give me a good ol’ Military Channel show where either stuff blows up or gets shot up. Boom!
January 9th, 2012 at 9:54 AM
would’ve been nice if they’d actually hired Mike Leach. he was still there at the time…missed opportunity for some football relevancy in my opinion.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
The folks who green-lit those shows likely got fat bonuses and promotions.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:55 AM
I’d like to see it, but I don’t think Arkansas keeps close.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:57 AM
Waggle, waggle.
/Couldn’t resist
//Damn glad its golf season… on TV
January 9th, 2012 at 9:57 AM
TBL is always asking “how can you not like Tebow?” TBL, media people like you are the reason nobody likes Tebow. You guys make it seem like him wiping his butt after taking a crap is news worthy. “Tebow threw for 316 yards!! Coincidentally he once wore 3:16 on his eye black in college!” I was actually a fan of his is college and I still am but I can see how people get sick of hearing about it
January 9th, 2012 at 9:57 AM
Is that the NYT article that said current athletes get jerseys with their names sold on them in the student bookstores?
January 9th, 2012 at 9:58 AM
Cowboy, you are correct, sir. Not a new concept, but just as worthless now as it was then.
The whole idea of “fame, for its’ own sake” leaves me nonplussed. Also, there is such a lack of originality in scripted shows that there just aren’t a lot of things that catch my attention.
So, bottom line – get off my butt and go outside. Feel the sun on my face. Put on some Zac Brown Band.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:59 AM
I think this has a lot to do with the Pats winning by 18 in Denver. Now a home game? I’d be wary about betting either side.
January 9th, 2012 at 9:59 AM
Miz, you are spot on. We talked about Leach to Memphis months ago, but they were too scared to make it happen.
Which is why I suggested you become the AD, IIRC.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:00 AM
damn good choice, man.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
Talk about a thoroughly unsatisfying weekend of NFL playoff games.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:01 AM
10 AM, working from home. Time to turn to first take. This should be interesting
January 9th, 2012 at 10:02 AM
Jonathan Byrd
His forearms are enormous. I’ve followed him since he gave Furyk a run at Olympia Fields. He transformed his game since then. Ton of work on his game. Every major is in play for the shorter hitters this year.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:02 AM
it’s true. I should’ve. I forgot to submit my application though.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:04 AM
The Steelers losing is never not satisfying
January 9th, 2012 at 10:04 AM
That’s nice. Moot point. LSU and Bama both have terrible QB play. Hope both guys play inspired, don’t wanna watch that bullshit again.

Was his V-Shaped back glistening with sweat?

I love “Colder Weather”. The Colorado references were a nice touch. “Chicken Fried” and “Toes” are pretty sweet as well.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:05 AM
damn straight. don’t know if the Hogs would win, but it would be closer than the first game.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:08 AM
true for the most part.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:09 AM
Probably the only solid game and I missed the end of it. With like 4 minutes left in regulation the Hawks-Wings game had begun. Don’t even get me started on that one. Would have liked to have gone zebra hunting last night.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:10 AM
That’s nice. Moot point. LSU and Bama both have terrible QB play. Hope both guys play inspired, don’t wanna watch that bullshit again
I think (i hope) there is going to be some decent scoring tonight. Maybe 24-17 LSU
January 9th, 2012 at 10:12 AM
Dude. It’s the NFL playoffs. Youre doing it wrong.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:13 AM
It’s so disgusting, yet I would be watching too.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:13 AM
Dudette, it’s the Blackhawks-Red Wings rivalry. Don’t tell me my business, devil woman.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:15 AM
I can probably say I’ve yet to hear a song by him I didn’t like. you should get on youtube and check out their live covers. they’re done some Rage, Tom Petty, Peral Jam, and others. pretty talented band. that fiddle player is phenomenal too.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:15 AM
yep…well, except for kiawah.

Zac Brown Band cover of Ryan Adams’ “Come Pick Me Up”.

Spence have you heard Phish’s 10/30/2010 show from Atlantic City? Apparently it’s a bunch of Zep covers. I’m downloading it at home right now and cannot wait to hear it when I get off work.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:29 AM
There are a suprising # of guys who dont take a big divot. Elite players have great swing speed and the divot is inconsquential. Your club is actually moving fastest after you hit the ball, which is why the divot doesn’t impact the shot. My theory is that some (but not all) of the divot/no divot is in body type (arm length, back fitness), etc.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
Anyone else see the Roethlisberger presser last night and think he raided David Garrard’s closet?
I thought he was auditioning for a walk-on on Mad Men. He looked like Draper if Draper was ‘roided up and thug-like.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:32 AM
yep…well, except for kiawah.
I think the ocean wind and hazards will necessitate more control.
January 9th, 2012 at 10:36 AM
Oh, and Team Non-Divot
January 9th, 2012 at 10:38 AM
He yam what he yam.

Also, I tried TopGolf this weekend for the first time and I’m hooked. It’s great for when you can’t out for a full round. And they bring beer right to your tee box.
