Video: Australian Woman’s Bungee Cord Snaps (She Survived!)
This is video from New Year’s Eve in Australia Africa where Australian Erin Langworthy and some friends went bungee jumping over the Zambezi River. During Langworthy’s jump, the rope snapped. Somehow, she survived. From The Courier Mail:
Ms Langworthy told Nine News that she went black and felt like she had been slapped as she hit the water and was dragged down-stream towards rapids.
With her bungee cord still attached, Ms Langworthy had to swim down and untie herself as the rope snagged on rocks.
She spent a week in the hospital. Absolutely insane.

Even knowing she survived, that still sucked watching her float downstream like that.

And that is why I will never go bungee jumping.

I won’t go because I’m scared shitless of the falling. The idea of falling from a height is terrifying to me, even if the bungee cord did its job when it was supposed to.

An f-bomb slipped through. Fire the censors.

It’s not so much the falling that bothers me. More the landing.

I love that the company said it’s operations are safe. Those chords are impossible to snap unless they’re shitty and worn. Usually the only failure point is the connection itself, and they’re foolish if they don’t have a backup to that.

I would have guessed that the nation of Africa had really stringent safety procedures.
